I'm holding on phone w/ AT&T now, rep is trying to get through to the Premier dept. to see if they can cancel the online pre-order I made 8am eastern on the 7th, which is still backordered. Looks like Premier was the problem for me, even though I received a confirmation email at 8:36am on the 7th saying my order was in and to expect phone on the 14th, for some reason AT&T is showing my order date as the 8th, which pushed me into the second tier, thus the backorder. I am just trying to cancel the order so I can walk into my local store which has them in stock and get the damn phone today. :mad:

At least my phone rep seems very understanding and is really trying to help here.

OK, update, they told me there is absolutely no way they can cancel my order but Premier's system shows that the phone is slated to ship out tomorrow, and I should receive an email from them then. Kind of a royal PITA but at least it's sounding like it won't be weeks, and I can finally leave my house and get some damn lunch, as my phone will not be arriving today.

Anyone who's on backorder, it really does NOT look like you will receive your phone today, no matter when you placed your order. Some orders that were taken in the early hours of the 7th seem to have gotten pushed back a day in AT&T's system, thus the delay. Total BS, I will never order directly through AT&T again in my life.
 
If you try to cancel the pre-order in store, do you have to go to the same store? The store I went to said it was impossible to cancel a pre-order, despite me showing them this thread that proved otherwise.

That's called the big FU the store manager just gave you. Feels good, right? I got the same response.

I just wish Sprint didn't suck in my area, because despite being with AT&T for 7 years with 3+ lines, I'd be there in a second.

Well, any shipping carrier will try a few times, and after the first time you can usually call them to either hold it at their facility for you to pick it up, or even possibly change the ship-to to a different address, for instance your work address. Well, UPS will do this, not too sure about FedEx but I would think it's the same deal. We shall see, right? I'm in exactly the same boat man. :(
 
How is the registration process going?

Because I am grandfathered into the unlimited data plan, a Premier CSR told me a few days ago not to register it online but to call in because there won't be an unlimited option on the web. I'm thinking that I will be on hold forever if I do call.

Anyone experience this yet?

I didn't have to activate mine. I just swapped sim cards and restored from backup. I'm guessing this is because I'm upgrading from an iPhone 4.
 
OK Fedex just dropped them both off met him at the door :D

I ordered Friday 4:30AM ATT.com 2 white 4GS.

I ordered 11am on the 7th. Backorder screwed like so many...

ALl AT&T stores in the area were out.. but they suggested I try Target or Best Buy

Target just put the last black 16g at&t phone on hold for me to pick up in an hour. Thank you Bruce.

Plan is now to purchase it on my husband's upgrade and then reverse the order on my line or just not sign for pickup if it ever comes...
 
Just got off the phone with Premier. After almost an hour hold, the CSR informed me that I would be getting my phone tomorrow and phones will be shipped out for a Saturday delivery. There is a delay in the updating of tracking information today is what she told me. Take that info with a grain of salt..we've been lied to many times by ATT csr's...
 
I just registered to chime in. I ordered Premier on 10/7 8am Pacific with Premier order status showing last update 10/10 and AT&T order status page said order received 10/10. My Qty Back-Ordered column just went to zero a minute ago. Maybe they are delivering the back-ordered ones this weekend?
