Ordered 2 on the 7th and decided to run down to the nearest AT&T store and pick up a 64 GB one this morning.
In and out in 15 minutes or less.
The pre-ordered ones arrived around 1 pm
 
Got mine about 20 minutes ago. Interestingly enough, I never signed for it...he just handed me the package. He was very, very busy and said he had at least 90 more iPhones to go today.
 
I should have either pre-ordered from Apple or gone to a store... if I did, I wouldn't have to wait a week to get my phone.

Yep, my sister just got hers and her husbands from their apple.com preorder. My other sister got her and her husbands from Best Buy this morning. Glad I ordered a week in advance. Thank you AT&T!
 
So just to be clear, ordering a week in advance doesn't help me anymore than someone that just walks into a store today and tries to buy one. In fact i'm in worse shape because they can check wherever and pick one up if they have any stock. :mad:

For some of us that is correct, that's why I cancelled and got them from the store.
 
Guess it's time to try that other number. What option # did you choose?

I got transferred to resolutions on the last call and they said that they can't cancel yadda yadda and that they are shipping stuff out fast but no guarantees. I'm kinda pissed.

Gah tracking says deliver before 3PM, it's 2:30 and still nothing, I never use fedex wish they would have shipped UPS. They will probably pull up at about 2:59
 
Ordered two phones 10/07 07:00AM.
One for me (Regular account), one for a friend (Premier Account).
Mine was delivered a couple hours ago, but my friend's was still showing as Backordered....

...UNTIL 10 MINUTES AGO!

I might be wrong but if I recall correctly, your phone goes off backorder status the moment they scan your iPhone's barcode into the system at the warehouse.

So they will probably ship it any time now! :D
 
A liitle advise.

I too ordered my iphone 4S at 9am on the 7th through the Preimer site. I got email confirmation for delievery on the 14th. As of today no tracking info, just says "Processing" I got so fed up, I went to my AT&T store and to my surprise almost no lines. I bought my 2 iPhone4S on the spot, they called CS for me and canceld my previous pending orders.

I now have both my wife's and my Iphone 4S working like a champ. Just a suggestion for those who might want to do what I did.

I did call the store first though to see how the line was and to check on the inventory of the iphone. Hope this helps.
 
For those of you who's order is still in back-ordered status - go down to the store and get one if you don't feel like waiting... but those status's are DEAD-ON accurate... there is no delay in update, your phone won't magically show up... it's backordered.

The people who have moved beyond backordered will probably get their system today, tomorrow for fedex, or early next week....
 
Ordered two phones via Premier online store:
1. 16GB White at 7:30am friday
2. 16GB Black at 7:40am friday

The black phone went through a normal order process (never backordered), shipped yesterday, arrived today.

The white phone is still backordered. I chatted online with an ATT rep and she told me that I would get the phone in 21 days. She said she had no explanation for the mix up.
 
In-Store Pre-orders can be canceled... I just did...

I've gotten tired of checking the order status site, and everytime it shows "Backordered"... I was not one of the late ones, or one that ordered after this "so-called" cutoff. I was a loyal ATT customer who completed my transaction for the pre-order before 10am CST on day 1.

Here is my store: I went into Corporate ATT Store "A" at 0930 CST on Friday 7 Oct 2011 and pre-ordered a 16GB White 4S... Only reason I had to do this instore was I have a grandfathered unlimited iPhone data package and did not want to lose it. I was in and out in a few minutes. I received the email confirming the order @ 1138 CST that same day. In reading everything on this and other sites, I met the cutoff...

However, after reading the last 200 pages here I have to state that my pre-order was more of a backorder-order. I never receiving shipment confirmation just like most of the people that pre-ordered in a corporate store and did not have their orders filled either... This is poor customer service on so many levels. Many of us, based on what has been posted, feel as if we were mislead and availability was misrepresented.

So, I read several posts from people who are backordered too and being told that they could do nothing but wait... "NO CANCEL FOR YOU!!!" for 2 to 3 weeks minimum... I thought this could not be right, so I called the store I completed my pre-order (Store "A") with and got the same information. I immediately called a different corporate store "B" (that was actually closer) and was told if the website shows it is backordered and not shipped, they can cancel the order, even though it was a direct fulfillment from another store, and oh, btw, they had them in stock... I high tailed it to them.

Just got back... My experience is this. I was able to do what most said could not be. I had my pre-order that was on backorder canceled. I was able to obtain a white iPhone 4s (albeit in 32GB since all the 16GB were gone...oh well) in store using my upgrade. The d-bags at store "A" will never see anymore of my business and I will only deal with walk-in activations/upgrades after today. No more pre-orders.

If you are one of the unlucky who did the pre-order in the store and it shows backordered, then go to your local ATT corporate store and ask for the pre-order direct fulfillment to be canceled. It can be done, I just had it done.

Good luck and don't accept what the first d-bag tells you... It is obvious from so many stories here that there is obviously some stores willing to upset their loyal customers just to make an extra dollar. Not sure why. No information has been consistent and it seems to depend on who you get to help you.

After reading some of these stories, I'll be heading to my AT&T store right after work. I'd go there during lunch, but I have to get at least some work done today.
 
I think people who are able to cancel their orders don't have the "Active" status on their order. When I called premier, they said "Active" meant they were shipping by the end of this weekend and so they couldn't cancel your order at that point.

I can't keep doing that to myself. I've checked so many times only to be dissapointed.
 
Not sure if this helps but I called Fed-Ex and lady said on the phone that ATT will be shipping today (Friday) for shipment tomorrow (Saturday) Not sure if that's accurate or not but that's what the lady told me.


My status still says Backordered and no Tracking Number
Pre-Ordered my 16GB Black on October 10th kinda late but I can wait...kinda. lol

Hope this helps for some of you.

Off backorder: Oct 13th, 9:20 AM
Shipping info: Oct 13th, 1:30 PM
Delivered: UPS 12:30 PM

Driver had 50 iPhones to deliver today. I met him on the street infront of my apartment building, he had me sign and show ID.

nothing at all... I just walked in, they look up all your information based on your account phone number... didn't even have my pre-order info.
 
I can't get anyone to tell me how long it will be. I can't get any info on my order. I don't know if it will 1 day, 2, 1 week, 2 weeks. Who knows

I don't think so.. if you are listed as backordered it means they NEVER fulfilled your order... it's as simple as that. if you have progressed out of backorder then there is nothing you can do. just look at you order status.
 
I ordered a 32gb black from Premier on 10/7 at 5:25am PST.
My order has shown that it is backordered. I called ATT about 20 minutes ago and they said it is in the warehouse and will ship today.
I just checked online and it went from backordered to processing.
I guess they are still in the process of shipping them all out.
There is still hope everyone!

Are you backordered, or has it been processed?

Backordered is not next week, but the week after. if yours is processed/shipped it will be there between today and Monday.
