So i guess im the odd man out who ordered mine on the 8th...? I know ive read that some people who ordered on the 10th of the month already have tracking numbers...
Maybe only people who preordered on the 7th are posting now. Sad day.
Finally got tracking # this evening and it says it is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow!!!! YAY!!!

Just buy one at the store and cancel payment on your card or wait till you get the original one and send it back
My original upgrade date was 11/25. Only the phone Sales Department would let me upgrade early ($299). I'm only venting on this forum. I try my best not to take it out on you guys/girls when I call. Its not your fault, but still frustrating.
When did you preorder? Call customer care ask for retentions and have them notate your account citing per customer rules that you will upgrade at the store and punk the manager. Don't call sales![]()
If this was AT&T's first iPhone launch, this could be forgiven, but its NOT. Its the 5th launch! And they always seem to mess it up somehow. Look at the Verizon and Sprint threads. Are they as negative as this one? NO. This is Sprint's 1st, so we expect them to have problems. Its Verizon's 2nd launch. So sorry AT&T NO EXCUSES!
I ordered a Black 64 GB in-store at 5pm central on the 7th. It's still on backorder and Reps tell me they have no idea when it will ship, only that I just missed the cut-off.
The AT&T store closest to me still has a few Black 64GB iPhones left, and I'm debating calling up and getting them to cancel my order so I can pick one up in-store. Has anyone had luck with this? Was it worth it or too much of a headache? I don't want to find out I have to wait a day before I can purchase again or something and then get totally screwed when they run out of phones and I no longer have an order.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Hey there, after reading through this forum for the past few days, I took the advice of some of us 'backorder hell' people to go to the store and demand they cancel my pre-order and give me a phone from their stock. I had ordered a 32GB white on 10/7 (Friday) at 4PM IN STORE. I was stuck in quanity backordered 1, and no one able to tell me when I'd get my phone. So at about 6:30PM local time today, walked into AT&T store (a different one than the one I had placed the pre-order just to get rid of that factor) and told them the deal. They originally told me I couldn't cancel the pre-order but after looking at it, they said it was still processing and hadn't shipped so they could. They cancelled it, and I took one of their 28 white 32GB phones in stock... the whole pre-order business from the AT&T store was total crap. I've learned my lesson and will be ordering straight from Apple next year. So, I say do it.
Hmm I went to the store and got one myself but they said there is no way they could cancel my backordered pre-order.![]()
