So... Clearly I have too much time on my hands...

Here is a report of all the orders placed in my local AT&T store - I stopped at my order... (I live in a small town, so it's not very long)

It appears that if you ordered a 64GB, you should get it sooner than any of the other models.

Seeing all of these posts getting their phones moved makes me happy for you all, but pissed for myself. I still have nothing at all. No movement. Not even out of back order.

Same here and I placed my order at 1am PST on 10/7 (1 black 16GB, 1 white 16GB). Now it is like hoping to win the lottery.

If the number were 200,000 then I would agree with you. But with the number being 1 million there is no way you can say that a lot of that wasn't pre-orders that were shipped. It just isn't logical.
Fair enough. But I don't think that anyone is arguing whether or not some pre-orders have been shipped. The real problem is that many of the in-store pre-orders have not, while other means of pre-ordering have, as well as plenty of walk-ins. You may be in the majority of people who have received their iPhone from AT&T, but you are in the minority of those who pre-ordered from them in-store.

+1 I placed my order around 8am online on the 7th and still in backorder hell. I keep reading people getting their tracking numbers and it gives me hope to check my status again but every time it's a let down. :mad:

Ordered 2phones in AT&T store - 10/7 10am central 32black. 64 black. Got tracking # for 32 today. Will be here tomorrow 10/20. No tracking # for 64 gig. But no longer back ordered

Adding a little more information for people waiting.

The 32 gig shipped out of Ft. Worth last night. 10/19
It was picked up by FedEx at 7:55 pm.
It had been backordered since the 7th.
Delivered today at 1 pm. 10/20 All central times.

The 64 also went off backorder yesterday. 10/19
It has yet to ship or have a tracking number.
It might move to shipped about the same time tonight as the 32g yesterday. 7:55pm
And it might happen for a lot of you that have been moved off the backorder list.

My iPhone finally shipped. I have called every AT&T in like a 50 mile radius to try and get it faster, but my White 64Gig has finally shipped and should be here tomorrow!

Same here dude, i ordered 145 pm eastern time, but it dint get processed til almost 4pm eastern time. still on back order, all my verizon and sprint friends ordered the Saturday- mod nay after me and got theirs today

I'm impressed....not that the phones are now shipping, but that you have access to this data. I'm not sure I want to know but how do you generate a store order list?
 
this thread is giving me hope! but it's also making me more antsy as I'm still backordered. I did order at 5:30pm PST, so I'm hoping I didn't miss this week's cutoff and have to wait for next week....but at least that's the longest I have to wait, or else ATT will be giving me the iPhone for free.
 
I think it's luck of the draw, not particular configurations.

I ordered a white 64gb 4s on 10/7 at 1:55am from ATT.COM. My order confirmation said that my phone was scheduled to be delivered on 10/14.

Two weeks later, it's still listed as backordered.

Congrats if you have your phone already. For the rest of us, I guess we just have to be patient.

Search order status with AT&T store as "work number" and it's zip code. Then ignore irrelevant results.
 
My full story is located a few pages back, but here I'll just say I ordered a black 32 GB in-store around noon eastern on the 7th. Yesterday afternoon (Weds 10/19) my backordered column went from 1 to 0. The status remained unchanged until sometime this afternoon. I checked the status at 4pm eastern and it said it had shipped and gave me a tracking number. According to the FedEx tracking info they picked up my phone at around 3pm today and the expected delivery is tomorrow (Fri 10/20) by 3pm.

I am glad that this whole thing finally seems to be coming to a resolution for me. I'm still very upset with AT&T because they created and then failed to address my issues throughout this process. For instance, it took them over a week to figure out that I had accepted the t&c's in store when I ordered. I wouldn't have been upset with AT&T had there merely been a supply shortage. I still don't know whether I will activate the phone when I receive it tomorrow.

Just called 611 from my phone. Asked the rep to cancel my iPhone 4s preorder. I told her that I preordered in an ATT store and the phone number to that store. She said they should be able to cancel the order. Nobody answered the phone at the store so she is going to call me back when she gets a hold on him. She said 15 minutes. Will update.....

Isn't this crazy that people have to even try to figure out who's shipping when? AT&T should be ashamed that their customers have to resort to this! Ridiculous.

Thanks to those who put forth such effort. I ordered by phone, so this doesn't really help me.

checking in...still backordered on 2 - 16gb's pre-ordered instore on 10/7 at 1:30pm, email confirmation 3:59pm same day.

checked on pre-orders made on 10/7 being delivered to my store - got some movement. 1-32gb's got switched out to "shipped" today (congrats to you!) and one got cancelled (omg - liars!). the other phones are 16gb's - pending processing and backordered.

so of the 7 phones pre-ordered on 10/7 in-store and being delivered to store, 3 shipped/shipping and 2 canceled and 2 (16gb) still backordered....

pre-orders after 10/7 still sitting at backorder.

maybe NoVA is getting the shaft - first come, first serve...more like first come, last served.

glad to hear that others are easing their pain. but you got remember us in the backwash of this total fiasco!

the stores do an absolute terrible job at answering phones, i do not get it they have a dozen employees, but as far as canceling goes i was unsuccessful at every store around me

The rep from dialing 611 on my phone called back and got a rep on the line from the store I preordered at. Because my phone had not been shipped yet, she was able to cancel the preorder for me. My upgrade eligibility was immediately restored too. This was very easy. Almost as if ATT made a change today because I have tried to cancel 3 times during the last 5 days and was shot down every time immediately. Good luck everyone and dial 611 from your phone to try and cancel today!

I ordered a white 64g early morning on the 7th from ATT.com as well. Got the same conformation stating my phone was scheduled to be delivered by 10/14 and still showing backordered today. My local att store was willing to sell me one on the 14th (they had plenty of 64g white at the time) and cancel my order but when they called to cancel my online order they would not let them because my order was supposedly already processing even though they kept saying it would be 21-28 days. Even the store rep helping me admitted I was getting screwed and advised me to keep calling and hopefully someone would cancel my order. I did for 2 days but no such luck for me.:(
 
Final some action!!

Just checked the ATT.com order status page and here is what I seen finally!
