I doubt it as many who ordered 10/7 are still backordered, like me. But I wouldn't put it past ATT to send them out to whoever at any time.

In-store or online preorder?

I did a preorder online via the Premier webpage at around 4pm AK Time on the 7th. Which ATT CSR said that it didn't go into their system til the 8th.

Yea i was just hoping lol. Whats the latest anyone has gotten a change on the AT&T order page?
Im sick of checking every hour lol

There was a post a few days back from someone who ordered on the 15th and got it delivered on the 17th. I also have a friend who pre-ordered on the 10th online and received his phone already. I was actually the one who told him they were taking pre-orders (I pre-ordered on the 7th online). He did get a different model than I ordered but it's ridiculous that I am still backordered 2 weeks later after I made sure to wake up early on the 7th just to be sure I would have it on launch day. He got a 16g blk and I ordered a 64g white. Lame At&t just lame:mad:
 
hey guys, so i ordered a 4S from apple.com, it should get here at the end of the month, my question is, i bought the 4s with an upgrade that i got from my other line in my family plan, so what is the best way to do this so there will be no issue with swapping the simcards.

when i get the 4s, do i swap the simcards right away before even turning on the iphone 4s? or do i turn on the iphone 4s, let it activate i guess? and then swap simcards?

I think they are making my phone in China right now and I'll get it in 14 to 28 weeks.

HAHAHA! They should work harder in China...slackers. You have to understand though once it leaves the factory it has to be transported 100 miles by rig shaw to apple's distribution center in china, apple does this to cut down production cost as they dont have to pay for gas and trucks. Don't worry they had them sign a do not collapse till after delivery paper, so...
 
Get used to the backorder status

I've been followed this thread since 14th. I ordered online on 7th around 12 pm ct, and AT&T didn't process the order till 11th. 2 16gb white and 2 16gb black, still backordered, and see no progress whatsoever. Just get used to the backorder status, I think I will be shocked if I saw something happened on the status page

Yup, exactly. I have put it in my head that AT&T will NOT be moving my back ordered status ever, so the day that I go check it and it's finally different I will probably crap my pants.

I just called all the stores near me. More than 15 of them. They said I can come in to the store and place my order with a credit card. I asked how long it would take for me to get it. "At least 30 days sir."

"Its a safer bet to take this route as we don't know when we will get more stock."

If you can imagine 15 parrots repeating the same thing to you over and over.
ATT is on the corporation sh:eek:t list.

trying to cancel

so i ordered in store, and was able to reserve a 16gb white at one of the stores in nyc for tomorrow. i'm trying to cancel with them but they can't seem to find the order on their database. isn't that weird? talking to the csr; she's trying to persuade me to hang up and have someone call me back tomorrow and to call the store - but i'm insisting she ask other people. hope it works out, will update you guys how it goes.

for those in the nyc area, last time i checked they still have all the black models in store if you guys want to pick it up.
 
Pre-ordered on 10/11, black 32GB. Still on backorder status here. Online order through AT&T website. This was my first pre-order, and unless I'm up at the crack of dawn for the opening of pre-orders, I likely won't again.

What happens to my eligibility date 2 years from now? Date of pre-order or date of activation?

I remember reading about that somewhere... Oh I found what I read... on the receipt it says "After receiving your new device call ...blah blah to activate... ...blah blah ... Your monthly recurring charges and applicable service commitment will begin once your line is activated." Which to me means the 2 years begins when activated... totally just my interpretation of that sentence though.
