You guys are lucky you,atleast you can view the status your orders. I ordered over the phone and have accepted AT&T's Terms of Service and my order still hasn't appeared on my account, nor can I find it using the order number. All I have to show for it is an email telling me I'll "eventually" get a tracking number if/when it ships.:(
 
If you cancel your preorder, how long does it take to reset your account to be able to upgrade at the lower price. I have heard of problems with the reset. Careful if you cancel to go to the store. Just saying so if you do cancel, you can make sure your account is reset before spending time at the store on Friday! :)

All I need to know is if I need to wait in line or not. I'm thinking if I don't see a changed status on Wednesday that I'm going to cancel my order so I can buy at the Apple store on Friday.

Sound about right?

my boyfriend ordered over the phone Friday morning and it isn't showing up on his AT&T account yet either...and he got a similar email.

Same boat. I'll never order with att again. I will order with apple only
 
In Alaska

I ordered mine thru Apple Website on Friday at 5am Cali time. Almost ordered thru ATT but the website didn't have a ship date listed.
Got the confirmation email about 3 hours later.
Shipping/Tracking email this am and the latest info says it's in Alaska.
UPS is great that they are updating every step.
Latest still says Delivery on Friday. I am hoping for Thursday!!! :D
 
What this about accepting Terms of Service? I ordered from AT&T retail and they didn't tell me anything about that. But when I check the specific line under the family plan there is an option to go through Accepting a Terms of Service if I recently Upgraded. Not sure if I should do that yet...I don't even have the phone yet. What should I do?
 
My Pre-Order ship status hasn't changed, ordered first day of preorder

I ordered my pre order 64g white 4s within hours of the pre order being available from at&t.. everyone on here is saying theirs has shipped, mine is still showing up as

"Your order contains items that are not yet available for shipping. When the pre-ordered items are available, we'll process and then ship all items in your order at the same time."

it says the order was updated today.. When I first ordered it said it would be delivered on the 14th.. im confused.. is it because I ordered from at&t premier?

if you look back through the thread, you may notice that no one from AT&T (direct) has had seen "shipped" on their status. Also several people are speculating that AT&T ship from US warehouses and are simply waiting for the CHina shipment that is currently in AK to hit the AT&T (direct) warehouses to ship to you. Should (as speculated) see shipped changes in the next few days. does this help?;)

blocking charges directly with your credit card company is going to do nothing for you, all it's going to do once at&t tries to charge your card for shipment again it's not going to get approved, the way the pre orders works is once the pre order is processed it puts you on your new two year agreement. story in a nut shell blocking charges on your credit card isn't going to properly reverse your upgrade so that your eligible for an upgrade on friday when you attempt to pick up the phone in store, yes eventually your going to be able to get it fixed but it will take you so many hours of talking to CS on the phone that by the time your done all stock will be sold out.


For those of you who can't check their order status online and are getting an error message... maybe this will help you too. My order was canceled by the system and ATT initiated reorder without my knowledge:

I ordered at 7:16 a.m. ET on 10/7 over the phone and accepted terms and conditions at 10:32 a.m. ET on 10/7. I talked to 5 different ATT reps today (2 first phone call, 3 second).

Call 1: The first rep (in order status dept.) said I had a 21-28 day shipment date and couldn't provide more info, but could see my order. Couldn't answer why I couldn't see it. Rep #2 told me that the order # provided at time of call had been updated and some "changes" were made over the weekend. Refused to provide new order # and refused to give me a shipment time frame only saying they couldn't guarantee delivery on the 14th and all orders may take 28 days to ship. I ended call to run to a meeting (yes, productive morning at work!)

Call 2: The first rep said my order was canceled over the weekend due to system error on ATT's part. The system initiated a reorder on 10/9 around 8 p.m. (no email notification!) and I was now looking at a 21-28 day shipment time. At this point I was so aggravated based on the terrible service received I attempted to cancel my order completely. I'd rather give my $ directly to apple, thank you! First rep transferred me to the wrong department (rep 2) who knew nothing about what I wanted, he disconnected me. I called again and talked to rep #3 who told me that you can't cancel your order --- even though if you pay by credit card you're not charged until shipment (apparently debit/bank cards are billed immediately?) I'm waiting on a call back from this rep tomorrow re: can they figure out how to cancel my order. If not I'll be blocking charges directly with my credit card provider.

Lesson Learned: buy direct from apple next time. It's not about the wait time for me at this point, it's about the horrendous customer service. Let's try being straightforward, honest and getting the story straight!
 
all att stock is already sitting in att warehouse in dallas texas, apple orders come directly from apple's manafacturing partners warehouse in china therefore they ship sooner to be able to arrive on time. At&t will ship orders WED and THURS with either 2 day shipping or over night shipping. happens every year people worry they won't get it on time but thats because these are already sitting in the states.

I ordered over the phone too (after trying to order online at 3:00 am and finding out that new family plans can't be set up online) and have been discussing in the "Who pre-ordered the iPhone 4S by phone" thread that started before this stickied thread. Anyways, I ordered at 8:00 in the morning Friday through telesales and the rep said it would be delivered by the 14th (if he hadn't, I would not have gone through with it and would have just waited in line). I finally got the T&C e-mail tonight and then about 30 min ago got the order status e-mail. Well, it says it will be 21-28 days before it ships :mad: and the online order status page says I ordered on 10/10.:mad:

This has been such a terrible experience so far. I understand the enormous volume that goes with the iPhone, but still, a multi-billion dollar company with 100M customers should figure it out after 5 years of trying. What a cluster *****.

I ordered directly from a supervisor from AT&T. My upgrade was not until 11/25, so this was my only option. It has not been cancelled as I talked to 3 other CSRs since. They all can see the order and claimed that I would not be able to see anything until it ships. Morons. I know my order number should show up, but so far it doesn't. It was ordered by phone on Saturday.:mad:

Amazing you could get multiple phones on the same order. ATT transferred me to another rep and said no way to get my two iPhones on the same shipment. Maybe because one was an upgrade and the other a new line. They took almost my entire info for the upgrade then said that they could not do the new line. Put me on hold and had me start over with someone in the department that adds lines and that person said no way to have in the same order either, so they should have let the first person finish first!
