AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

someone posted a .pdf earlier that showed the same language in the fine print for AppleCare+ as it exists for regular AppleCare.
It's probably a case of Apple overlooking that fine print, but we'll see if they offer any type of grace period.

well thanks for pointing that out for me... found it in big bold type on the apple site.

Making myself crazy!

I think I am driving myself bonkers checking this thread! When I go to ATT's site to check my order, I am getting the same thing everyone else is...backordered, processing, shippment pending etc... When I get to the page that allows me to enter my order info there is a message that reads

"Pre-ordered devices will ship on or around Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011."

I have an e-mail from ATT that came at 5:14am Friday morning, right after I ordered, that says expected delivery is October 14th. I have a premier account, and nothing appears to be wrong with the order and everything seems normal. My credit card says the charge is processing.

I am going to try to relax I think. My one question, and I hope you all can offer some insight here... Those that ordered directly from ATT at preorder time for the iPhone 4, did the phone arrive on launch day?

I don't even dare call ATT at this point to try to add this to my order.

I concur - my email from AT&T says the order is expected to be DELIVERED on 10/14. The website also says pre-orders will ship on or around 10/13?? What gives?

The problem is "AT&T" is not saying anything. One CSR says one thing, another CSR says another thing, their webpage says yet another.

If history is any indications, the previous posters and their sources are WRONG. The first batch will ship before 10/14, and arrive on 10/14. Some may arrive early, some may not arrive till next week. But for the most part this is not AT&T's first iPhone launch.

It has happened before. And it will happen again....

Not sure what the issue is...many including myself had the iPhone4 ship the day before from the states and it was delivered the next day

Not everything is coming from China

No, I got my 4 the day before. The morning of delivery, i awoke to an email saying the phone had been shipped. There is no reason to worry. My iPhone 4 went from Los Angeles to Indianapolis to Romulus, Mi to my home. I received the phone 3 and 1/2 hours after I received any shipping notification.

Just relax.....BE HAPPY...you could have an Android!! You'll be enjoying your new friend, Siri, on Friday at the latest!!!

I know my dad received his 1 day early last year while I was in line at the store picking up my 'pre-order'. But did you receive yours early from AT&T or Apple? I have never ordered from AT&T. I have always gone to the store on the launch day and waited it out.
 
AT&T multiple emails to accept Terms and Conditions

I preordered the iPhone 4S on Friday morning. I had to call AT&T to order, since there was some phone line swapping to do with my family plan. I finally got the email to accept the terms and conditions from AT&T this afternoon, and I quickly accepted them and got the message that the order was moving on in the processing line. About five hours later, I get the same email from AT&T, asking me to accept the terms and conditions again, but the online system will not let me. I take this as a sign that the original form I filled out was enough, but I'm not sure.
Has anybody else had this experience?

exact same with me. i just called CSR, they said its a known issue. hope to get my phone on the 14th.

sounds like you touched multiple lines and had to approve multiple t&c's?

I don't think so. I was clear when I placed the order that I was using a specific line to upgrade, and that I would swap phones at the AT&T store. The agent said there was no problem with that, and only the upgrade line would get the t&c email. I tried to enter the second phone line just in case, and it was rejected.

Like another user just posted, it looks like this is a known issue.
 
All I need to know is if I need to wait in line or not. I'm thinking if I don't see a changed status on Wednesday that I'm going to cancel my order so I can buy at the Apple store on Friday.

Sound about right?

No, last year, a lot of statuses didn't change until 1-1.5 days before the delivery date. You'll get yours on Friday!
 
I had my 3Gs stolen and had to pay full price for another one. That was a while ago... because I am not waiting to replace my iP4.. :)

I stayed up and went through the 3 1/2 hour wait to get the iPhone and got confirmation. I received a notice order complete will arrive on 10/14. Then Sat night I got a notice they had to verify my identity. I called in and they said I had to take 2 forms of ID in. Sunday I went in and provided ID they updated the order and all was supposed to be well. I then got a notice last night saying I needed to confirm my identity. I almost disregarded it since I went in earlier in the day but for sound of mind I decided to call. Sure enough something wasn't done right and I had to answer some questions. Finally I got my order in process message. So I would not disregard it. Call them and make sure you are good to go. Better safe then sorry.

I am NOW waiting a few more days to replace my iP4 is what I was trying to say... ordered and in AK... :)
