AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

Just to add, mine came off of backorder sometime between Saturday & yesterday morning too & I have just received a tracking number on AT&Ts order page this afternoon. Scheduled for delivery on the 27th.

We ended up getting ours from the store near us on 10/14 thanks to the suggestions in this thread, so this one will be going back for the refund. Lesson learned: don't pre-order (online in our case) from AT&T if you want to get it on launch day. I won't be making that mistake again. At least the folks at the store were very helpful though.
 
My offer of $215 still stands-immediate payment.I know AT&T doesn't understand the terms "immediate" or "in order".

It's funny cause I grab my 4s before my wife's and her line is updated while mine hasn't. Just received 2 tracking numbers!! I ordered online, 10/8, 11am EST-

These went off backorder yesterday morning:

32 gb white - overnight shipping, est delivery of tomorrow (from Memphis, TN)
32 gb black - 2-day shipping, est delivery of Thursday (from Fort Worth, TX)

Hope everyone else starts seeing similar movement!

This did happen to me once with AT&T and they caught it a couple years ago, although it wasn't an iPhone it was still a smart phone I ended up getting sent two phones for some reason and they just double charged me the upgrade fee which was only about 99$ I think so my family kept both as a back up.

Mine went off backorder yesterday morning also. Ordered in store 10/8 at 10:30cst----32GBblack. Hoping I get tracking info also! Congrats!!!!

I'm looking for anyone who ordered a 16GB white on 10/8 or later that has either received their phone, gotten a shipping notification, or seen their backorder go from (1) to (0).

If you fit this description, would you volunteer your order # and ZIP CODE so I can take it to AT&T and PHYSICALLY PROVE TO THEM that this is not "first-come first serve"...?????

You could end up benefiting all of us 10/7-ers who are still waiting...

Despite the wait, unless you have to have it within 3 weeks this is still the best option. I live in NY and did the reserve thing at 9pm for Apple store pick up and after struggling with the Apple servers, the next day there was a 3-4 hour line just for people with reservations. Granted NY is a heavily populated area but I dont have the patience to wait 4 hours in the cold for a phone. Seems unnecessary and Kind of upset me that Apple just cant give people who reserved a phone their device when they come in.

Would have liked to have had it sooner but if your time is valued then ordering online and waiting is an ok solution. Don't necessarily let this thread scare you.
 
Ordered 16GB White through Premier on 10/9.

Moved from backorder this morning, got tracking # this afternoon. Should be here tomorrow.

This is the first time I've watched the pre-order fiasco occur, and I can honestly say that while I understand your frustrations many of you are over reacting.
Should people like Helmhead be pissed, yes. But I like that he is going to go to them with facts and present his case that they screwed up.

AT&T is a business. And the best way to get their attention is vote with your wallet and leave. If you didn't like your experience I suggest this is what you do. Or get in line at an Apple store next time. It seems like most of you would enjoy the quality time with others anyways. Peace, Love and :apple:
 
Just wanted to give a final update for everyone still waiting...there's light at the end of the tunnel!

I ordered in store on the 7th @ around 5:30pm PST, black 32g. Went off back order on 10/20, shipped out on 10/21 and received it today (missed the first attempt). This is my first iPhone and it's awesome. I was skeptical about siri, but it's really awesome.

So, good luck to all of you still waiting. IT WILL COME!
 
No idea how all these pre-orders are being shipped but I order via premier website (New Customer). Ordered a black 16gb and black 32gb on 10-13 and from the confirmation email it was just "Pre-Order" status. Just right now I got the confirmation that it was shipped and FedEX states it being delivered by 3pm tomorrow. :D

I don't mind the waiting in general, since I was informed of the wait when I ordered, and I understand the insane amount of hype and pre-orders for the 4S.

But *this* is the sort of thing that really irritates me about the whole process. Completely destroys the claim of first-come-first-served. Boatloads of 10/7 preorders still waiting for their phones, and someone who orders on 10/13 is getting theirs tomorrow already? Unfair. No offense to you, hwnstyle21, I know it's not your fault you're getting yours so quick. Whatever crazy Master Control Program at AT&T that's allocating phones to orders is seriously *ahem* messed up.

Rant over. Back to obsessively checking orders. :)
 
Been out of backorder now for a day and a half (36 hours) still no tracking or shipping info. I'm getting restless....
 
Location Las Vegas

Around 1:30 pm 10/25, I checked status and I now have a tracking number with delivery scheduled for the 26th on the 32gb black one. Still on back order for the 16 gb white one.

Both phones ordered in the AT&T store 10/8 before noon.

Phone is being shipped from Fort Worth Texas.

I wasn't really expecting it until next week or later given they told me up front that it'll ship 21-28 days. I even got an email this morning saying that my order is still scheduled 21-28 from date of sale. Then they sent me the order shipped confirmation with tracking number
 
I stopped looking for a couple days, because it was just irritating.

I checked today, and I'm still on backorder.

I pre-ordered October 7th at 1:55AM. (I basically started trying the minute they opened the ATT.COM website for orders, that was the first time I managed to get through to the confirmation page.)

My confirmation page, and e-mail both said that my phone would be delivered by the 14th.

pre order status thread

Hi, My iphone was ordered on 10/10 at 6am.... it went off back order now and is pending shipment.... my boyfriends iphone was ordered 10/9 at around 11am and is now saying 'shipped' so i am guessing he will get it tomorrow or the day after.... i am jealous, i want mine to ship and be here then too :( although i am greatful it is off backorder..... have any of you all experienced 'pending shipment' then received the phone within a day or two or three? thanks
