AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

o_O Say it isn't so ...

Just got off the phone from the AT&T Premier Peeps. (after an hour and 15 min wait I might add)

She said the phones won't be in their possession until the day of the 14th and they will ship it from there. I hope she was just misinformed. I was hoping to receive it the day of the 14th!!!!

I can tell you that was a glitch in the system. In fact, I had my Premier representative take that old address out of my history after I saw that. But be assured that the phone will be shipped to your current billing address.

My old address was in a different zip, but when I check in Order Status it finds it when searching under the current billing address zip. So that makes me think he is correct.

Edit, and duh, when you check on the order status in your OLAM, it should show your current address there too.

The shipping zip code is the same for old or new address, glad you were told the same thing and see that in your order status page. You just saved me from calling AT&T and being on hold for an hour +, Thanks so much.

Does that mean you'll be getting the iPhone weeks late because AT&T thinks you waited until 10/10 to order?

No problem, just be sure to log into the Online Account management page. Then click on Order Status down in the lower right. From there, you will see another page where you can click "Order Details" under the order number. That page shows an address for me.

I ordered mine via Apple.com and it says preparing for shipping.

I'm not getting anything when I search Fedex or UPS for it though, I dunno if I'm doing it right.

i got a feeling that anyone's AT&T order that says STATUS: "in-progress", and Tracking number: "pending shipment" and ordered their phone before 5:30 pm Friday 10/07.

THEY WILL RECEIVE THE IPHONE4S on the 14th!

you heard it here first!
 
Chatted with an AT&T rep regarding pre-orders to get another data point. He gave me some useful info (well, sort of) after initially being unable to even locate my order, even though I had just confirmed my unchanged status less than 30 seconds before.

I ordered white 4S 16GB at around 9:00 am CST on 10/7 direct through the ATT website.

Naquon R-----: Hello my name is Naquan R-----, How may I assist you today?
You: I just want to check the status of my iPhone 4S preorder. I've heard lots of rumors about it.
Naquon R-----: Please allow me 2-3 minutes to gather information, so I may better assist you.
You: ok.
[...]
Naquon R-----: Thank you.
Your order is in progress.
You: Alright... what does that mean, exactly? Do you know when I'll receive the order?
Naquon R-----: You will receive your phone on the 14th.
You: awesome!
I had heard that there was a time cut-off for orders, that people who ordered before maybe 4 or 5 pm would get theirs on the 14th and everyone else was delayed. is that true?
Naquon R-----: The deadline was 5:30 pm last Friday.
You: ok, cool.

Ordered my phone on 10/7 @ 9:00 AM.(yeh i was late) with AT&T. As of now Order still states "processing" for each item. And i note, the "Back order" column has disappeared. I guess that's a good sign. ;)

I wish ATT would allow a gift message along-with the order.
It would be a wonderful surprise for the person receiving it.
Even better if APPLE would inscribe the name of the gift receiver on the iPhone :). Wouldn't it be wonderful
 
The problem with a down-to-the-wire order with a delivery on a Friday is that it's a Friday, meaning, if they miss Friday we're in to next week. I'm hoping mine (and everyone's for that matter) gets delivered on Friday, but if not we're looking at Monday. FedEx and UPS have weekend delivery but I think you have to arrange that ahead of time and there is extra cost involved.

Ordered 64gb at 6am Oct 7th. Premier Site has and still has pre-order checked but AT&T just charged my Debit card 423.99
