Ordered by phone Att at 6:30 pm central nashville Tn. Got terms n condition email yeasterday Monday the 10th at 6:30 pm . When i saw it and approved it was 11:00 pm central. Got confirmation of my aprroval at 1:45am tue/ today and said i 21-28 days to delivery. Abt to check to see if the bank cleared. Either way i belive it will be n by friday or even thursday????? N jus talked to Att and siad everyphone paid by Friday was ok m shpuld arrive at most 5 days after friday should be coming from Texas.

This is starting to piss me off. All these people who order after us from Apple are possibly getting there's tomorrow (NO, UPS or FEDEX does not hold orders, they deliver when they come in). If AT&T has the orders ready for shipment (which they do), they should just ship them already. Grrrrrrrrr. They need to get their **** together and make sure their employees know what they're talking about and that they are all telling people the SAME information.
This is 100% WRONG. I have ordered iPhones and iPads online every launch day since preorders started a few years back and they ALWAYS hold till launch. Look in the forum archives. Stop spreading misinformation.

CANNOT imagine Anyone will get theirs tomorrow. Apple is notorious for NOT releasing anything before the stated release date. Even if it says "delivery date" = (tomorrows date). Been through this too many times. and always thought I might get my iPad / iPhone a day early. They'll have it held (and have before) before they deliver them early. I'll bet its part of the deal when Apple (or ATT) contract these shippers - to hold till release date.
I cant wait till the ATT purchased phones say "Shipping". Dont think anyone that ordered from ATT says "shipped" yet, but their will be a flood gate when it happens. Im betting Wed or Thursday.

Now this part has some truth to it. I called to order my iPhone 3GS on launch day and the first person I talked to told me there was no new version of the iPhone and that it was just a software upgrade.
I just hung up and called again. New person. Very knowledgeable. Order placed.I ordered through my employer AT&T account manager last Friday around 9am, been checking my status and, like everyone else, status is "in progress" and quantity back-ordered also show 1 item. That's this morning.
I just came back from lunch, checked again, now the back-ordered showed 0 quantity, but status still show "in progress" and "pending shipment". It's a working in progress and hope I will receive on time.

I got the hold thing as well and have time to wait for a rep. I'll post my response.. (if they ever answer!)
Well Ethan, that isn't the case for me. I, too, have ordered as soon as pre-orders started, and I recieved them a day or two before actual launch day. This is the first time I pre-ordered through AT&T, though. A few friends of mine have also received their orders before launch day. AND I know 2 people that work for UPS and FEDEX, and they both say that when they receive orders, they deliver them. Thanks and have a terrific day.

Reading through this thread made me realize how much of a mistake I made in pre-ordering thru AT&T. Never again will I order from them.
