I have never been more impatient in my life!!! This wait at work is killing me. I've lost track of how many times I've pressed F5 on my keyboard here at work, just monitoring the tracking status. As if it will change with every 2 minutes update ;-)

I know this doesn't help but... Relax! I have been in your situation many times only to be disappointed by a 7:30pm delivery time. These days are brutal for deliveries and drivers are working late.

Just wanted to report another data point as of 09/25/2015 14:00:00 EDT ...

Status: In Progress
Model: iPhone 6S Plus - Rose Gold - 64GB
Ship dates: October 16, 2015 - October 23, 2015
Order date: 09/12/2015 at 3:06:36 AM EDT
Location: Dallas, TX

It's pretty frustrating to wake up in the middle of the night for the pre-order and not get it delivered on launch day.

Find it disheartening people are getting so mad about what day you get your phone. You know the risk when you purchase the day it comes out. Save yourself the heartache and wait until December, and spend more of your time making the less fortunate happy. My 2 cents.

Not that this is going to make anyone feel better, but a quick analogy:

I used to work in a one-hour photo lab (back when people used film!), and the day after every single holiday we would inevitably be slammed with a ton of work. Often we would have to tell people it might take a bit more than an hour because of the volume we were dealing with.

Once the negatives themselves were set, there were several ways the printer could be configured to handle different types of orders, depending on the type of film and what size they wanted. Most of the time, we could fulfill orders in the order they were received and the time it took to reconfigure the machine was negligible. However, when we were slammed, it was much more efficient to rearrange things so that we could do them in groups of similar types and sizes. That allowed us to stay much closer to on-schedule, whereas if we'd fulfilled them in order and had to keep reconfiguring the machine every roll or two, it would have put us farther behind.

It's not a perfect analogy, and I don't expect it to change anyone's mind. AT&T knew what they would be facing when they got in to this, and the other carriers seemed to have figured out how to do it without a problem. I'm simply suggesting that some of us got the short end of the stick because, for whatever reason, doing things a little out of order maybe allowed them to fulfill 85% of the orders on time instead of 80% (numbers I pulled out of thin air).

This is the first time I had Next for the upgrade. I went through the Apple order process. It verified I was eligible for the upgrade since 12 payments were made and then went through some more screens. When it looked like I was about done a screen came up with a message about not being able to retrieve my AT&T Next contract. Strange since the order process already verified eligibility. Anyways, nothing I can do about that now. Apple is really evil, that they can make products and an annual process that makes us go crazy about getting an iPhone. I have the 6+ so it's not like I am using a really old phone or anything ;-)

The same thing happened to me which is why I had to order through the ATT app. I verified on the apple site days before preorder that I would be fine to upgrade. It comes down to preorder time and boom contract can be verified or some crap. So I hopped over to ATT and ordered at 3:30 AM EST. I could have had my order in earlier had the Apple site not been d***ing me around.

Same model as you, though I admittedly ordered later. I'm hoping we both see our phones Monday.

My phone is at my local FedEx facility but the status hasn't been updated all morning. It's usually on a truck for delivery by 9 AM but no movement at all since it got to the facility.

I think that's pretty close to accurate as to what's happening. I'm sure they typically do process orders in the order they receive them, but when dealing with big groups of probably thousands of units I'm sure things change logistically for them. You would think after several years of doing this they'd be better at it, and maybe they are better than years back, who knows.

I lived in a complex last year, and the package was left in the office. This year I live in a house, and they've left the package outside. It's makes me a little nervous to know my poor baby is there alone while I'm at work, but I've had packages delivered before and left on the front door without any issues.

This will probably be my last post here regarding this product & then I'll be back for the new AppleTV most likely.

So I preordered a 6S+ 128GB SG on the 12th at 3:01AM EST from the AT&T website. I had the 10/16 - 10/23 ship dates. I had no information or updates on my order until 11:50PM last night when my order changed from 'Preparing to Ship' to 'In Progress' with a Tracking #. Then an hour later, I got the email from AT&T telling me that my phone shipped. My Tracking # started working shortly after, but showing 'Pending'. I went to bed. I woke up at 8AM to see if anything changed. It's showing priority overnight but with a Monday delivery. I'm hoping I get lucky and it'll be here tomorrow. (Shipping to Michigan, phone somewhere in DFW area right now)

This year's preorder was better than last year. Last year, I preordered the 6+ 128GB SG 4 minutes after preorders opened up through AT&T's site. It took AT&T 3 weeks for them to ship my phone. I remember being extremely mad as I have never had any issues in years past & I have preordered every iPhone that was available for preorder & had always gotten my phones on launch day. Worst part was I saw people, who preordered the same phone after me, get their phones before me & yes, I did complain as I felt I should. AT&T lowered my bill significantly since I waited for a long time and they felt it was fair since others had their phone first before mine. I was happy with this outcome. But I was calm and collected. I didn't feel the need to yell to their 'virtual' faces.

While I'm not getting my phone on Launch Day, I'm ok with the latest Monday delivery date. It's close enough & I won't be doing anything major like going anywhere for a couple weeks anyway.

However, I wish AT&T would've been more communicative with their customers in regards to their preorders. Also, while I don't understand anything about logistics, I feel that people who got their orders in within seconds or short minutes later after the online doors opened, they should've received their phones first. I'm not mad at the people who ordered the same phone as me & got theirs today. It's not their fault. It just seems that AT&T's system is disorganized & illogical. You would think that after 6 years of doing preorders that AT&T would have everything figured out internally.

On a final note, I used to work retail so I know how hard it is & I understand what those guys go through. When you have a large company, sometimes the messages from the high ups don't get through to the people who talk to customers directly or, sometimes, the higher ups don't give them any information at all. That goes for their managers / supervisors as well. So I'm not going to go complain to AT&T about my phone since I think it'll be here in a reasonable amount of time. Now someone else may think that's unreasonable & to each his or her own. Now if I saw that someone ordered after me, especially those that ordered a day later than me & they got their phone before I did & I was waiting for my original estimate ship date (10/16), then I would be mad & would be contacting AT&T and complaining like I did last year. And I would be calm & cool about it.

To everyone, who was able to get their preorder today or who walked out of a store with one, congrats & enjoy your awesome phone!

To others, I hope you guys get your tracking info / phone real soon!

Take care and see you all later for AppleTV orders!
