Why should I have to answer that at all? i don't work at AT&T and any answer I give to that would be pure speculation.

All I know is AT&T didn't break any written promises here.

In black and white for all who ordered to see, they gave us October dates.

You took the risk.
You got yer phone Carboys? WOOHOO!! :)

Not going to continue to go back and forth with you and I respect your patience and optimism and I want to continue playing with my new phone. LOL. But let's make something clear.

AT&T did break promises and are flat-out lying, they're telling customers pre-orders are first come first served which isn't the case AT ALL. So why am I mad if I got my phone at 8am and ordered on Apple.com. Explanation below:

Why should anyone be "afraid" to order from AT&T.com? Why can't we trust our carrier we pay tons of money too handle our pre-orders and live up to the FIRST-COME FIRST SERVE statement? If customers don't express outrage, the same BS happens next year. It happened last year. I understand issues happen but AT&T needs to do a better job in communicating this to customers. It's not fair to see folks over at the T-Mobile or Sprint/Verizon threads getting phones for the most part. Anyways, I'm done. I have a new phone to play with!

THIS!!

Yup - order a 6s and 6s plus that day both in space grey 128. The 6s will be at the store today for pickup...the 6s plus hasn't shipped yet. I'm hoping since the people who ordered on the 12th had a date of 10/16 that it will ship early as well..maybe within the next week or so.

I just went to two ATT Stores in MPLS, MN....they have a "boatload" of 6s & no Plus's one store had a few & they sold out the other didn't receive theirs yet....

I feel like canceling all my three lines too. What carrier would you move to?

I sent an email to the addresses you posted. Frustration is, they have sent exactly the same phone to people who ordered even days after me. I just don't want any business with companies that can't even get this straight.

Also to people who are saying they are happy to get the phone next week... what/who said you are getting it next week? Just going by what happened in years before? I am not sure how you can count on that. The only thing sure for me is that I am getting it on 10/16 or later, which would be fine with me if they were respecting the order in the "line", but they aren't. Not even close.

I would have to research which carrier seems best. Maybe T-Mobile. I have been AT&T for years and never had a problem when ordering through Apple.

I originally order the SG 6s+ 64gb on the 12th then cancel the order because I thought I will not be able to receive it in October. But I reorder it again on the 22nd and just got it today. I'm in Ft Worth. :)

I just got off the phone with a manager at AT&T. She said she has no idea why people who ordered later would get the phone sooner as it is first come first served. She also states that most people should see a shipment by early next week.

A couple links for you - carriers are keen on giving you all kinds of discounts if you switch to them - I got these links via Twitter when I @mentioned the other carriers while griping about @att. ;)

Sprint will cut your bill in half if you show them your current phone bill, and pay the cost of switching.

Verizon will give you as much as $300 for your old phone and another $100 for switching.

Just in case you're serious.

I think the issue with AT&T is plain and simple. They play middle man with the deliveries and thus they don't fill orders in the order in which they are received. They fill orders based on stock and other factors. It's impossible to fill orders first come first served when you don't control the incoming stock. Factor in the different payment methods, I admit it's a backward ass way of doing things. I don't see any reason why someone who orders the same phone 2 hours after you should get their phone first but I've seen a good bit of that over the last two days. We really have no idea how they handle things but it definitely seems to be the least efficient way in comparison to the other carriers. Next phone I order will not be ordered from AT&T.

Another question I do have though....Is for people that have their devices now. When fedex delivered your phone, did they just knock and leave the box? or did they require signature? I have seen a couple people that have said they left the box and left. But do you guys live in a house or an apartment? I live in an apartment so if they just pitch the box by the door I will be livid because it's left out for everyone to see. So I'm hoping maybe they would bring it to the leasing office or something?

Considering she is wrong on the former (many examples here otherwise), she is probably wrong on the latter too.

I signed for mine, but I am at a business if that makes a difference.

I think that typically depends on how they deliver most packages to complexes. Usually in my past experiences with apartments, if it doesn't fit in your mailbox, they leave it in the office.

Basically same question since I'm at work. I think I'm okay since deliveries are usually really late to my place on iPhone days. I'll be home in a few hours anyway.

Mailbox is owned by USPS. FedEx cannot leave packages there.
