Same with me I was able to get onto the site at 3:06am est and all were in oct ship dates. What's the point of a pre order and staying up till 3am if we are going to have to wait a month after the phone is released to get it. If your able to order a few mins after midnight then you should be able to get a phone. There is no point of pre ordering next year if this is how it's going to be.

I know it is not what you want to hear, but pre-ordering does not guarantee a launch day delivery. I am in the same boat, got my order in at 3:01 and have a Oct 16-23 delivery. Would I like to have my phone on Friday? Yes, but I am not going to lose sleep over it if I don't.

Yup, that's what I'm assuming.
I am on the phone with my local best buy trying to figure out if we are truly going to be able to pick them up friday.
Some people on amother forum said they did same thing last year than best buy didn't actually have them for them to pick up

Yeah. Not like your losing anything if you just have to order it and wait 2 months like the original time lol
I just called my local Best Buy asking if I could expect a Friday pick up. She looked up my order and confirmed that yes it's expected for Friday. I'm thrilled to have taken the chance. Good luck to you!!

i ended up grabbing a 128g space grey from the apple website. I bought it outright that shouldn't change my plan doing it like that should it? (Unlimited data) and do i have to take it to the att store to set it up?
I'm wondering whether I should do the same. I'd think you would have to set it up at some store, unless you can read the ICEI number to them over the phone—I don't think there's a website where you could enter that info.

Doing it that way raises two questions:
• Is the phone unlocked, since you bought it outright?
• Will there be a price reduction off the grandfathered plan, since you're not paying for the phone over 2 years?

This is my 3rd upgrade via the AT&T website during preorders. Don't they usually send a text message when they ship your order? I know I received one last year as did my wife. I don't remember what happened with my 4s as I got it on launch day and there weren't any shortages like there seems to be with the 6 series phones. I gave up on checking the order status on the website and decided I'd wait until I received something or if everyone on here started receiving info then I might check. At this point the suspense is killing me. Not even that I'm dying to get my phone at this point but more that I want to know when. Will it be Friday or Halloween? Ultimately the fault lies with Apple. Let's launch a phone that millions will want but we can't meet the demand. Probably all part of the plan to build hype.
Not necessarily part of the plan, but it does help. Apple is a lean, mean marketing machine. Apple doesn't actually care whether or not they have enough phones manufactured to fulfill pre-orders, although I'm sure they do try. They're more concerned with how many they sell that first weekend. This is marketing 101. "Record sales" is the number one goal and this is the number that matters most. If they can only have 2 million of a particular model/configuration manufactured on time, they will continue to sell 4 million of them on the first weekend in pre-orders. Whether or not those are delivered on time is of no consequence to Apple. They're sold and they count toward the "pre-order sales record". That's what matters.

I'm in the group that ordered in the first 15 minutes, forced to order through AT&T for the first time to retain the 2 yr contract price (really crappy move on AT&T's part), and have shipping dates est. 10/16 - 10/23 for the 6S Plus. I continue to be optimistic about a launch day delivery or even the following week, and if that happens then good on Apple for keeping their promise. If it's truly going to be a wait until mid-late October, then AT&T and/or Apple will have proven to have shown their true colors, sales over customer satisfaction. This possibility would be really sad coming from Apple. We'll just have to wait and see.

I ordered mine on preorder date and it says my estimated delivery is 10/23-10/30. So annoying. My status says "preparing for shipment". Is that different than the "in progress" people are talking about above? Holding out for an earlier delivery date!

Well yes it is no guarantee but normally when doing a pre order right when the site goes live should indicate you get the product on launch day or at least soon after. It's just a bit annoying but I'm not going to lose sleep over it. The only sleep I lost was the night of the pre order .

Yup, I made sure to call this morning, and I am honestly going to call tonight just to talk to another worker to see fi they tell me the exact same thing..But she said they open 8am friday and it is there waiting for me

I am thinking the same as you.

My 6S+ says same and hoping it gets to me Friday as I ordered 13 min after it went on sale

Depending on where i check my order status, one say "in progress" (from my confirmation email) and from the AT&T order status look up by phone number, it says "preparing to ship" I honestly believe we will receive our devices a lot sooner than they are estimating. I've mentioned this before in this thread (so all you h8rs can bypass this before becoming salty with me about repeating myself) I ordered my 6+ last year via AT&T and ordered an hour after they went live for preorders due to the heavy website traffic. This year,l ordered mine 10 minutes before the preorders were suppoesed to go live (& i'm still getting a 10/16 ship datE). My estimated delivery date was very very similar to what we're all seeing now. About 1 day before the phone was launched i received notice that my phone had shipped. I received my phone the day after launch. At that time, it was estimated that I would receive it in october, as we are all seeing now. But i have high hopes that we should have our devices long before their projected shipment dates!

My apologies if this has been addressed in this thread multiple times (or others), but has anyone confirmed Brick & Mortar stores will have the 6s+ in stock on Friday? We all know the 6s will be in stock, but i can't recall hearing reports of the 6s+ being guaranteed in stock.

Also, i placed my 6s+ order at 2:08:29 am cst via the AT&T website and was given a delivery estimate of 10/16-23. As others have also stated, i received a text message on Sunday 9/13 evening stating my order had been processed and i would be notified when shipped.

I just popped in to share my story and vent a bit... enjoy or move along! ;)

I have been with AT&T as my mobile carrier for over a decade, and I've owned several iPhone models starting with the original and upgrading every year or two. I've never pre-ordered before; I always tried to tell myself I wasn't in a hurry, but then I tended to monitor the stock of the nearest Apple Stores (there are two within 45 minutes of me) and try to get there in time to claim one when they had what I wanted. I wanted to make it easier on myself this time around.

Unfortunately in order to upgrade my phone I needed to do a shared upgrade and use my wife's eligibility (she used mine last year), which I could not do through Apple's site, so I had to order through AT&T. I stayed up late on the 11th so I could log in and get it taken care of as soon as it was available. At about 10 minutes to midnight I opened the AT&T page and got a message that due to high demand, the page was unavailable, but it said to stay on the page and eventually it would open - so basically I was waiting in line.

While waiting, I was poking around Twitter and noticed that several people had been able to get theirs ordered already, even though it was before midnight. And here I was stuck in line waiting just to log in. On a whim, I decided to see if I could log in through the AT&T App on my phone, and surprisingly enough, I got right in. I got through the entire ordering process (128gb 6S Plus in Space Gray) and got my confirmation email stating my order had been placed at 2:02:33 CDT. The AT&T page on my computer opened about a minute later.

But yeah, that email... Oct 16-23... I thought, that's impossible, they can't have sold out that quickly! The only thing I could figure was that they obviously didn't have any in the warehouse yet, so their system automatically picked a date that would give them plenty of time to fulfill the order. I hoped, at least.

Now, I'm not sure. It seems really unlikely that the Apple Store, every other carrier, and a handful of retail stores would have access to stock that AT&T does not have access to. I've read about the different model numbers and such, but I have to admit I'll be really irked if people are able to walk in to a brick-and-mortar store on Friday and walk out with a brand-new 6S Plus while I'm waiting four more weeks for the order I placed two weeks ago.

But what bugs me even more than that is AT&T's lack of communication about all of it. And if AT&T is the only carrier facing these kinds of problems, I'm surprised it hasn't been more widely reported. There are far more questions than answers, and that's incredibly frustrating.

Maybe all of us will be surprised on Friday and all of our angst will be for nothing, and I hope so. One thing is for sure though, next time I'm going back to just trying to get lucky at an Apple Store.

A simple call to your local AT&T store would answer all of your questions.

I guess i have should have been more clear. I don't care to walk into a store such as AT&T on Friday to pick one up. I'd rather just get it delivered and not go searching for it, especially since i pre-ordered and transferred an upgrade from another line i don't use. My bigger question was since so many of us are a month behind schedule on delivery, then logically it would make sense for our delivery estimates to be moved ahead if other B&M stores (not just AT&T either) were receiving 6s+ supplies this Friday.

Honestly I'd put the blame on AT&T more than Apple. AT&T is the one forcing you to purchase from them to get the discounted pricing. If they had just let you order through Apple then you'd get the device on time without the worrying. I think in past years Apple has generally done preorders more reliably than AT&T, and I always recommended people order from Apple when that option is available.

A-FRIGGEN-MEN!
I spoke to 3 AT&T reps...one told me that the dates WERE accurate and that we all would receive our phones 25 days AFTER the day we ordered it *impossible*...
Another told me that I would receive it earlier than the estimated ship date.
Another told me i'll receive it within the estimated window.
Why can't everyone be on the same page with them? I'm sure they've gotten enough people calling for HQ to give their reps something similar to tell everyone. You're totally right. I believe they can handle our orders and questions a lot better.

I just pre-ordered my 6s+, I ordered through apple.com as AT&T was giving me hooplah when I wasn't eligible for a trade in"on att.com" called att and said I could upgrade!! So I'm selling my S6 Edge and just gonna pay off what's left on Next and be done with it, as long as you pay off next before the 14 days after you get your phone or before you don't have to trade it.

My delivery window is Oct 20 - Oct 27 which isn't too different from when I got the 6+ last year.
I got 64GB this time around as I'm simply not using that much storage, I got space gray this time around as well as it makes watching videos easier on the eyes for some reason.
Has anyone with a October ship date actually received a shipping notification early yet through AT&T?
There are two planes heading to Anchorage. Two to Louisville.

Where is att warehouse? Atlanta?

I'm sure it's been stated over and over by now, but i truly believe this was their way of sticking it to those customers who are legacy "subsidized" phone customers. Maybe folks who are the "Next" program can comment or have before, but i think this is a clear effort to get people to purchase phones via Next or Apple's program, albeit my opinion may be completely uninformed.

Same here. 6s 64G Space Grey. Premier account still says "In Progress" and Ship date is the 24th. No activity on my card either.

Im not worried. Ive always gotten my phones on launch day (even when the tracking info suggested otherwise).

you will most likely receive your phone. All 6S Plus orders are the orders we are all worried about.

I went from a subsidized plan to Next with this order and I'm in the same boat as the rest of you, so I doubt that has anything to do with it.

We pretty much have the same story and outlook. I also, to my surprise, was able to order via the At&t App a few minutes before ordering went live. Same eta of 10/16-10/23 to my frustration. However, I'm seeing so many of the Apple.com and Verizon orders already being changed to "shipped" status. Like you, I can't imagine At&t orders will be that far backed up. I think At&t just chooses to go about their ordering/shipping process much differently than other carriers. I'm confident that my iPhone 6S Plus 64GB silver will arrive on the 25th. Over all, I'm more optimistic than most. Time will tell.
