So here is the thing , I ordered both 6s and 6s plus .. Both space grey 18 minutes before it went live .. ....
No need for exaggeration. The ATT site wasn't open for ANYONE, ANYWHERE in the world at '18' minutes before live. I was on my ATT app - that auto refreshes every 15 seconds and the ATT site went live at "10" minutes before the hour - EVERYWHERE.

That's a very strategic method but from someone that worked in the wireless industry for 8 years subsidized prizing will be gone completely by mid to late 2016. That's just a fact. The carriers need to remain profitable and they seem to be copying Europe-only Europe doesn't give subsidized pricing anymore-you have to buy a phone outright. If you like to change your phone a lot you should just do the financing plan. Your hyper focus is its the full retail price and in your mind your getting a huge deal by paying the contract price and your not. I have AT&T next and with my work discount I pay $96 for the 15 GB plan and I finance my iPhone. I paid $57 to get the 6s and I had the 6. I can upgrade every year just paying the taxes down on the phone. With rollover data I generally have at minimum 20 GB and now I have unlimited calling and texting to Canada or Mexico.
If it DOES become the lay of the land in 2016 - so be it. ATT tried is by setting July 30 as the cutoff for 2yr subsidy. The Twitter-Storm was so violent against it - they pulled back and allowed it again. So the Carriers will do what the 'public' will let them do. If ALL 4 carriers - in concert - agree to go to no subsidy - they we'll have to suck it up. But Sprint or TMobile, eager to steal business, will likely do anything the public wants to steal ATT and Verizon business. So the jury's still out as to whether subsidy will die.

I agree. The 6S+ are not arriving on Friday. I don't know how many times you have to be told, or how many times you have to check your order status, or read chat messages from the AT&T reps. The 6S+ is not coming as we had hoped. Let reality set in.

(I hope I'm wrong!) lol
This is a little TOO pessimistic a view. It's not as if Apple will ship ZERO 6S+ phones to ATT. That would be utterly stupid and unprecedented. But Apple IS hogging the A1634 models for their own pre-orders and stores on opening day. AT&T is getting the shaft. So -- one thing is for sure. This is NOT the same as last year with the 6+. MANY MORE people will NOT get their 6S+ on opening day this year than did 6+ pre orderers last year.

I do believe there will be a fanned approach like last year. I do NOT believe everyone will be waiting until Mid October. I believe you will see some ship early next week - late next week and then each week after -- more and more people will be reporting MY 6S PLUS HAS SHIPPED!!! Oh the EUPHORIA that will be coming! ATT is using a standard 'BACK ORDER' communication technique when they're telling you 10/16-10/23. Some of you.. VERY FEW, but SOME will get them this Friday. MOST will not.

And IF you do NOT receive a shipping email by about midday tomorrow, US time (Thursday 9/24) you will DEFINITELY NOT be getting your 6S+ Friday.

Is there any actual evidence of this or is this just another one of those pieces of baseless speculation the thread is chock full of?

I ordered a second iPhone around 8 p.m. EST on 9/12 and had an estimated shipping of 10/2. I just checked and it's listed as shipped. I can't find any tracking #, and one wasn't listed, but this seems promising. (6s 64Gb Rose Gold)

I just received the email from at&t that my 6S has shipped, FedEx. Sitting in Ft. Worth per the FedEx site. Just a tracking number and no other reference number. Placed my order for a space gray 6S 64gb at 2:15 am on 9/12. There are no special handling instructions so no idea if signature is required- I'm guessing not. Glad it's being sent to my office where it'll be received safely.

It's evident as At&t has acknowledged the fact that there's back orders for the 6+s. It's evident because people who ordered on att aren't getting 6+s on launch day and orders made on apple are getting phones on launch day. It's evident because last year, the same thing happened and tons of folks were pissed they didn't get phones on launch because of production issues. What else more do you need? Lol

All of it (except the models Apple is using and sending to the various carriers) is speculation. But not in a vacuum. It's educated guessing based on patterns seen over multiple years. And reading the various articles available and in the case of this thread - the one anecdotal piece of evidence from a VP at ATT and positive proof the poster here got his 6S+ delivery date moved to 9/25 - proving someone with power made that happen and that that "VP"'s report is likely accurate (that ATT only expected 1 million preorders and got 3 million).

So sure - always speculation. But educating speculating just like theoretical physics departments of Universities do. They never have positive proof. But they are the best at educated guessing.

My shipping information updated. Says will deliver 9/25 by 3pm.

Was hoping with the early ship date, it might get delivered tomorrow but alas it was in Texas as of this morning and Detroit is quite far away.

That one girl on Twitter is what you're referring to - right? That's also not new news..

When you make such claims.. take the time to post a link to the thread and post here. Otherwise it's just 'fluff'.. :)..

I am the OP of this thread, and even though I was very optimistic and told people not to worry earlier in the thread (certainly cannot remember where) I have seen no movement on my "Order Status." So I did a chat with an AT&T Premier Rep. Tell me this is not them just following what the company has told them to say, obviously I have left out any response with my personal information:

Welcome to AT&T Premier Web Navigation Support. While we securely connect you to an agent, please provide a brief description of the reason you are chatting today.

Me : I would like to know what is going with my iPhone 6s order. The launch is 3 days away and tonight my Order Status still says "In Progress," which is what it has said since I stayed up late on pre-order launch night to order it.

AT&T : Thank you for chatting the AT&T Premier Support Center we hope you’re having a great day. My name is Wilbert and I will be more than happy to assist you today.

AT&T : Good evening.

AT&T : Before we proceed, can I please have your full name and an active number in your account?
I am on the East Coast, so I stayed up until 3:00 am! I actually got my order in before 3:00 am because your site went live about 10 minutes early.

AT&T : You are welcome. One moment please.

AT&T : Thank you for patiently waiting.

AT&T : Upon checking, your order was already completed. And the estimated shipment date of your order is on 09/24/2015 To 09/24/2015. So there's a big possibility that your order will be shipped out once the device is already available. This is also your privilege on pre-ordering the new device.

AT&T : And don't worry, once your order has been shipped out from one of our warehouse, you will be receiving an e-mail notification with the tracking information so you can check your order from time to time.

Me : With all due respect, you have told me the information that I have when I check my order.

Me : I really want to know if I am going to get my phone on launch day.

Me : Launch Day is actually 9/25

Me : It would be great if I got it a day early!

AT&T : I apologize but I can't guarantee you that one. But since you place the pre-order early there is really a big possibility that you will get the device as soon as it's available. I totally understand where you're coming from.

AT&T : But I don't want to provide any specific timeframe because if it won't meet your expectation, you might get disappointed and I don't want that to happen.

Me : Well isn't that the point of staying up until 3:00am and pre-ordering?

Me : That we get our phones on launch day.

Me : I got my order in before 3am.

AT&T : Yes, I understand that you get that. And don't worry, since you pre-order it. You might get it as soon as the device will be released. I just don't want to provide you specific time frame because I don't want to provide any false information.

Me : 2:58:21 AM EDT

Me : I understand. However, I just feel like with the launch being 3 days away and there has been no change to order status, I am getting a little nervous.

AT&T : I totally understand where you're coming from Mr. -------. But don't worry, since you pre-order it 3am. There's a privilege you got for processing the order that early.

AT&T : And we prioritize our customer, that will be first come, first serve basis.

AT&T : Rest assured about that.

Then the rest is just saying thank you and goodbye. I mean he gave me the same exact information that I can get when I check my order! AT&T (and I would argue all these companies) need to give their employees more information about where your order is at. They must know more! I do not buy that it does not say in AT&T's system exactly where your order is in the system. I know people will say to me that it must still be "In Progress," however, I believe they know if it has a tracking number and what not etc...

I have ordered three straight years from AT&T Premier directly, and received my phone on launch day. However, I just have a bad feeling about this year. I ordered the Rose Gold iPhone 6s (64gb) which I know is not as delayed as much as the Rose Gold 6s Plus. Oh well, nothing I can do about it right now. I am just hoping I see a change to my order status tomorrow, and/or get an email that my order has shipped with my tracking number.

Hope everyone has a goodnight, and YOU ALL get your phones on launch day, or in the case of some 6 Plus orders they get moved up to a much earlier date or even launch day!

:apple:

I've spoke with 4 different att premier employees and they did the same thing to me pretty much the same words for words they gave you as answers. They told me what I already knew. They just looked up my order and read right from that like I wasn't checking it or something.

Mines still says In Processing also and had an early order time too.

Called that number this morning, but the operator gave me same details that I can see online - Shipping Oct. 16-23rd.

What I ordered: iPhone 6s Plus, 128 GB, Silver
Shipping dates: 10/16 - 10/23
Status: Preparing to ship
Order: 9/12/2015 at 3:18 edt

After the order status webpage quit loading for me tonight, I tried an online chat with AT&T. The rep asked for my order number and zip code. However, he was unable to find the order. I'm not sure if he was entering it in wrong or if he just didn't want to help me. He suggested I call a phone number for help. It was an automated number, but it let me enter the line number instead of the order number. Lo and behold, it is telling me that my order has been sent to the warehouse for shipping and that it cannot be changed or cancelled. It gave me no tracking number but did say I would receive an email when my order shipped. It also didn't give me an expected shipping day.

On the AT&T website, it lists a different phone number for checking an order status. I tried that number too. After entering phone number and zip code, it tells me that my order is actually on a back order and apologized for he delay. :(

I'm not sure what to believe, lol. The website just loaded for me again and it is still showing the 10/16 - 10/23 shipping dates.

For an FYI, the number the online rep gave me is: 1-866-267-4510.
The order status number from the AT&T website is: 1-877-782-8870.

I pre ordered my 6 plus with att right a few minutes after the pre order went live and got my phone a week later. Was so disappointed but you're right, it was better than Oct. Hopefully you guys can get phones sooner than Oct. I learned my lesson and ordered through Apple and have tracking info for my rose gold iphone 6 plus s 128 :)

At this point, I'm certainly not expecting AT&T to ship my 6s+ (128GB SG) in time for launch day. Looks like I'll be heading to my local Apple Store on Friday instead, where I was able to make a reservation for the same model. I was hoping I wouldn't have to take time off work, but oh well.
