Just to show you how wildly inaccurate those estimates are. These were ordered last Monday (Sept 15).
They are not inaccurate when reviewing these "estimates" after more information is available based on customer actual order data. They are after all just estimates based on Apple's delivery estimates for bulk orders for the Carriers, and these dates have improved significantly.

ProMax 512gb Orange delivered 11am today in Miami, Florida.

Ordered 10:26am est on first preorder day.

Was quoted October 2 shipping date about 5 days ago. That obviously got bumped up quite a bit as expected.

So even if you have any October dates, still very much in the realm of possibility you will receive your unit before September ends.

My 256GB deep blue Pro just shipped (original delivery dates September 30 - October 14)

Two 256GB silver Pro Max are preparing to ship (original delivery dates October 28 - November 11)

Over the years this is normal. Apple/ATT isn’t going to give too many estimates without a high probability they will be close to the date range they do give or before that range.

It all relies on the manufacturing of the phones and the phones being put into the system when you get actual shipping dates and not just the “estimate”.

Gotcha. Yeah. I hope so. In the past, the dates get better after the initial wave of early bird preorders. Here’s to hoping!
I spoke with office of the president this morning they said my order should be shipping sometime this week they're just waiting on inventory to come in

My Air 1tB ships today. The UPS label was created last night.
As suspected, even though UPS didn't show any updates other than "label created" all day yesterday, my Air is now suddenly "out for delivery" today.

So is it accurate when u go activate your phone it says 256gb even though my phone is 512gb?

If you mean the AT&T Activation web tool yes it can be wrong in the description area.

It is populated based on the scans from the iPhone box which does not include the color or storage size since it has nothing to do with Cellular services like IMEI / SN / ICCID

Correct office of the president told me yesterday they were just waiting on a phone to come in on the next truck and then it should be shipping out which he was expecting by the end of the week if not early next week my ship date is October 27 to November 10 for a 256 pro max cosmic orange he somehow had a way to reach the warehouse to get an answer for me as the sales who sold me my phone at Walmart told me one date and pre-order system set another, but he said what happens is when you pre-order it doesn’t account for the phones. They actually receive so as they receive phones in those dates push-up because they usually get more than they would expect

Office of the President - the president of ATT?

It is not actually the Office of the President. It is a special Escalation team that is a group of people that individually takes ownership of problems that reach them by a number of methods.

They act as a single point of contact until your issue is resolved. They have had several names of the years but the OOTP is the most common term, and yes they identify themselves as that when they call or email you.

They get internally escalated issues, BBB complaints, and FCC Informal Complaints for example.

Thank you for better explaining that

Thanks for that - I had to bite my tongue and not respond. It would be an utter impossibility that the staff of the president of ATT would be chasing down shipping dates.

Almost as unbelievable as others on these forums who claimed emails to Tim Cook were getting their shipping dates moved up.

Actually both are true for more complex issues. And just to confirm for you the Tim Cook email address is managed by a similar group, and back in the day Steve Jobs actually responded directory to customer that had specific issues.

We only hear part of the the stories that members post but most of these that are escalated have more details then just get a shipping date improved. There are normally several company errors first that lead to theses results of as you say "shipping dates moved up".

I’m getting my shipping updates from the ATT mobile app. It still says my pro max cosmic orange 256 is scheduled to ship Oct 24. Was hoping the date would move up but no changes since I ordered late morning on pre order day. Any insight? Should I check another way? Any way it’s possible it ships sooner?

On Sept 23rd, my wife and I each ordered the iPhone 17 Pro Max 512GB in Silver via an AT&T store instead of Best Buy. Estimated shipping between Sept 29th and Oct 13th. We're upgrading from the iPhone 15 Pro Max 512GB in Natural Titanium.

It just means that AT&T is still waiting for more shipments of iPhone units. Once the devices arrive at the distribution center the devices are assigned to orders, a shipping label is printed, and your iPhone will ship via overnight delivery.

Dave

I ordered a 256 GB iPhone 17 on Monday 22. I went with the blue since AT&T said those would arrive a lot sooner than the green or black models. Once I ordered, the shipping estaminet was anywhere from the 25th to the 30th. I received the phone this afternoon.

I ordered mine at 10:29 that morning. The same model except for 512gb instead.

I was quoted Oct. 2 for delivery after about 4-5 days, and I received my unit on September 22. Hard to imagine you’ll have to wait a month and I highly doubt it will take more than a week from today.

I know with UPS there’s a way to track the flights coming in. Does AT&T have the same thing since a lot of orders are shipping with AT&T? I’m just trying to see when the planes land in the US. Then we should start seeing more movement once they scan into the warehouse I would think

Yes. There was a way with ATT ordered phones. We’ve done it back to iPhone 10 and maybe earlier.
I’ve done it with ATT myself and have never used Apple Store to order, but here is an Apple Store preorder tracked from China.

I jut can’t recall if we used our main phone number as the reference number for ATT UPS tracking from China.

Note: not my photo but a quick search pulled this up from the past.

Sorry but this will not work with a Carrier ordered iPhone. They are not individually assigned a Tracking number until they are ready to ship from your Carrier's (AT&T) distribution(s) center.

Also the vast majority of AT&T ordered iPhone units are shipped via FedEx Overnight.

Just an update. Still no movement or change in att app/website. Feeling discouraged.

Ordered on pre order day @10:30am From ATT app.
17 pro max Cosmic Orange 256gb
Est ship date Oct 24.
Zero changes since order was placed.

I would check local ATT and Apple stores - from what can see in FL they have daily inventory.
