I ordered mine on Sunday, the 21st, and have an estimated delivery date of October 10th. I really don't want to wait that long. I live a few hours east of Chicago
Your estimate will not update. Your status will just change, and you should get an email. The 10th of October is next Friday. It is not that far away at this point, and your order may change status any day between Today, and next Thursday for shipment with a Tracking Number for overnight delivery.

Do you have any Apple or Best Buy stores near you, and have you checked inventory for carrier iPhone in Orange with 256 GB. If you have an urgent need or desire you might want to explore this option.

Unless you physically handed it in at a store it is just part of your order, and it would be cancelled if you cancelled your order. When you cancel your "upgrade" status is normally reset within 30 minutes automatically.

Have you actually checked with a physical Best Buy store for inventory to complete an in-store purchase with a trade-in?

    • AT&T Mobile app shows "preparing to ship", but on AT&T.com shows as "ordered" status - est. to ship 10/15
    • Guessing will not ship until 10/15?
  • iP17PM (256G - Orange) on 9/30
    • Exchange for my iPhone Air, so much I love about the Air (thiness and weight) but missing screen size and camera of the ProMax. I came from iP16PM.
    • AT&T Mobile app shows "Activated", but on AT&T.com shows as "Ordered" status - est. to ship 10/27

Then you are quite locked in to an AT&T upgrade at this point. Have you had a discussion with the store reps in person to see if they have an alternative to offer you?

Now for my question of the moment, why did you turn it in for an order that needed to be shipped?

Just another update for anyone still following the thread. I placed my order with att at ~10am on sept 12 for:
17 Pro max Cosmic Orange 256gb
Estimated shipping date Oct 24
Zero update or movement as of now.

Have no idea if I’m just unlucky or what, but it seems many people with similar purchase and ship dates have already had their phones shipped/delivered. Maybe the ship date they provided is the actual ship date for me and I just got unlucky this year.

Update: I cancelled my AT&T order today at noon and placed an order through Best Buy 17pm cosmic orange 1tb. It has already been shipped and is expected to arrive tomorrow.
You need to make the decision that works for you. Glad you found a unit with immediate shipping. Good luck, and enjoy your new Cosmic Orange iPhone 17 PM 1 TB.

Just an update. Zero movement. Looks like the Oct 24 estimate will be right. What was the point in rushing to order on pre order day then? lol. Totally a me problem but this sucks.

The issue is your iPhone 17 Pro max Cosmic Orange 256gb configuration. Many Apple delivery delays for this combination are just now getting "Preparing to ship for Oct. 7 - 13th delivery". There was massive demand for the 17 Pro max Cosmic Orange 256 GB.

I am going to go out on a limb, and suggest your order may ship by Oct. 9th for delivery on the 10th or earlier next week. Just a reminder that AT&T orders can't change status until bulk inventory arrives but shipping labels are quickly generated and most orders will be out the door from label creation to shipping within 24 hrs or less.
