Thanks OP! Just got 20GB for 10GB price and a $200 credit! The credit and new rate showed up on ATT.com about 5 minutes after the phone call.

Wow! I don't understand how some of you are getting $200 credits and free stuff. I can't imagine the rep saying "Hey, do you want a $200 credit as well?" What are you saying to them to give such a credit? Congrats by the way.

I asked her to waive my recent upgrade fee. She said I'll do better and give you a $100 credit. I looked at my bill and its actually a $200 credit. Great job ATT!

Wow! I asked for that too and they gave me $15 to cover the prorate for 2 weeks. You are so lucky. I am happy that they gave me the deal in any case. :D

I switched to the 10GB (which was cheaper than my 6GB plan with my employee discount) and 5 mins later called the retention department and just asked about matching the sprint promo and the rep changed the plan immediately.

All I did was ask her about matching the $100 20GB sprint promo and she changed it and confirmed that they do match it. 20GB for the same price as 10. I was told that as long as I didn't change my data plan, I'd always keep the same amount of data and price. I think AT&T has a customer for life lol

I didn't make threats, and she didn't ask any questions. You have to talk to RETENTION, not customer service. The rep that changed my plan to the 10GB plan had no idea what I was talking about. My 6+ is now a Netflix and crunchyroll machine...

Is the AT&T retention dept hours 24/ 7 ? I would call but i'm not the "main" acct name on the service ..

You don't have to be the account holder. You just need the account holder's name, passcode and/or SSN. I can confirm this because I was able to get it changed while not being the account holder but I'm authorized to make changes.

I'd love to take advantage of this and ditch unlimited and gain tethering but it will cost us roughly $10 more than what we are paying now. My mom and I are on an account in her name and my dad has his own account by himself. If we merge we would pay roughly $10 more after taxes than right now separated. And for my dad who along with my mom uses a flip phone, won't see the point in paying more money when in his eyes he isn't gaining anything.

Three tries now on the Small Business side and three strikes. Seems like it might be consumer only.

If you moved over to Mobile Value plan for 3 lines, you would be getting unlimited text, talk and 20gb (if you ask for the 20gb for 10gb deal) for three lines. If your Mom doesn't use a smartphone, it doesn't matter. Her line will still be $15 per mo. And the data is not limited to each line, so the 20gb can be used by you for tethering or whatever. Unlimited is capped at 5gb's, so you would be gaining 15gb's with no slow down and gain hotspot for free. I don't know how much you and your Dad pay each month, but you should add it all up and compare it to $130 for all of you on one plan. Plus, new customers or those who add an extra line also get a free $100 credit off their bill.

Right now my dad is on the the basic 450 plan with a 20% discount and pays ~$40 give or take after taxes every month. My mom and I are on a Family Talk 550 with my line having unlimited data and 1000 texts, after a 20% discount we usually pay $100 so combined its usually $140 between the 2 bills.

The 3 of us don't come close to maxing our minutes out and we have probably 5000 rollover minutes between us. I also rarely come close to using half my text bucket thanks to iMessage.

If we merge to a Mobile Share 10GB plan its going to be $125 for 3 lines after 20% discount and before tax. Tax in NYS runs around 23% so we are looking at around $153 and change.

Data wise I average about 4-7 gigs a month and although I get throttled most times past 5GB its usually in the last 3-4 days of the billing cycle and I don't feel any negative effect from it on the way I use my phone and data. Tethering I only have any real need for 1-2 times a month max, and its not critical to have just a luxury more than anything.

At this point I look at it as a decision between sticking with what I have and am perfectly happy with or switch to a current plan, pay a little more to get "more" but never actually make use of that "more".

No luck when I called in tonight, but I'm pretty sure I was speaking with a regular CSR and not someone from retentions(even though I selected the option for canceling my service). I'll try again tomorrow morning.

I'm a premier customer and I got the deal. Premier doesn't have a "retention" department. You have to ask for the "save" department. They helped me out.

Tried like 4 times prior to finally getting to correct department.

The lady said don't acknowledge your number when prompted after calling 611

I could not get small business to budge either. I'm going to give them a few days and see if they get the memo.

See my post. I'm on premier and got the deal.

Thanks, I'll give it a try tomorrow! Do you have a small business account?

I'm actually planning to switch back to a consumer account as it appears I don't need the business one anymore. Looks like you can get different area codes on a consumer account now. See what happens tomorrow.

Called today and got the upgrade from 10 to 20GB easily. Took all of 5 minutes! Thanks for the tip!

I just called retentions and went from 2GB to 4GB no charge. I could have went backwards 1GB to 2GB and saved some money as they provided that option. Looks like it covers all mobile share plans. Only retentions can do it and there is no time limit for them to stop providing these hook ups.

Would they double a 30gb plan to 60gb ? Or this is only good for going from 10 to 20gb ?
Thanks

Yes - i was originally offered doubling my 30 to 60 when she noticed I was on the 30 gb plan. She said i could have had 60gb for 130 dollars. The crazy thing was is that i was actually on the 15Gb plan doubled. I am guessing she miss read it or was mistaken because i can see no chance of them giving me a 60gb plan at 15gb price.

I just opted for the 20gb plan. I dont use that much data.

If you are perfectly happy with your plan, then I don't understand why you commented on this thread. This is for people who want to double their data on the 10gb value plan that has not been publicly announced by ATT

My dad has the 10GB plan with 5 lines on it. He also has weak service at his house. I told him about this doubling the data and how a couple of you got free microcells. Explained the talking to retentions thing to him. He called, talked to who he thought was retentions and got nowhere. Offered him the 30GB plan and microcell was $150. I told him to try again so he did. Same result. Then I read post after post of others who are getting it after he was rejected twice. Told him to keep trying until he got it. Stressed the point of getting through to retentions.
Third time he called he asked for retentions. They asked if he was cancelling. He said just put me through to retentions. They did and all he did was mention the Sprint deal and they gave it to him no problem. Then he mentioned his weak service and the guy looked up my dad's area and said that there were a lot of microcells there due to the thick foliage and gave him a FREE microcell.
Bottom line, to get this deal, YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO GET THROUGH TO RETENTIONS.
