Agreed. Gave me a credit for 2 weeks prorate on the 15gb (30gb) that I had upgraded to. But, I had to ask about the prorate charge since we hadn't even gone over 10gb yet. He offered to apply a $15 credit for it.

I would call back Retentions and get someone else. Don't say anything about being "parked" Doesn't sound right to me. What does your phone have to do with your plan?


Parked means your account is supposedly locked because you have a pending order that needs completed upon shipment of your new phone. But some reps go above and beyond and somehow get around this.
 
I just called and attempted to double my 10gb family share plan. I was told by the rep that "word came down from above" to stop allowing the data double for 10gb customers. Supposedly word came down an hour ago. Anybody have luck with this recently? Any chance I just got the wrong rep?

Just got off the phone with a rep.. Done with no problem. Just asked if they would honor the sprint deal. Started off with a online chat.. then they need to call me. Was on the phone for 4 minutes tops. Saved $30 going from 30 to 20GBs
 
The rep I talked to sounded annoyed; apparently they've gotten a lot of calls on this. (Gee I wonder).

This was around 6PM EDT this evening. It was done no problem.
 
Is this getting harder to do? I just informed my friend about the double but he hasn't called in yet..

i have a plan with the wife ( 2gb on her iphone5 ) and me unlimited on my iphone5. Chat told me that the double data is only for those with 15gb or more. Said I can chose the recommneded 10gb plan that would save me about $30 a month, but i really want the 20 gb for the same price.....especially since i'm giving up my unlimted ( which i really dont use more than 4-6 gb a month. We are going to add a 3rd line too.....thats also why i want the 20gb for the same price as the 10gb.

Guess i'll have to call

Did this in the morning. Spoke to the sales rep first and they said no. Asked to speak to retentions and they were more than happy to help. They said that it was a plan that only their department had access to. From there they also encouraged me to tell my friends/family about it and that it would be available till Dec. I had originally switched to the 30GB plan, but 20GB is the sweet spot for me and I'll save some $!

I spoke with a rep and they said that the online chat with customer relations is closed for the night. Then asked for my number and they called me. I would call and ask for retentions or relations. Was on the phone for 4 minutes only. Back dated the plan a few days because I just started a new cycle, so I get no prorated charges.

I would say that it is. I called in four times and tried an agent via chat. In total I spoke with 6 agents (one call back reconnected me to the exact agent that had just told me the promotion had been pulled an hour ago) including a supervisor. All but the last agent told me the promotion had already expired.

We have 2 iPhones and are on wifi at home and work. We only need 2GB and hardly sniff that even. I spoke with retentions and told them if I can take advantage of this double up offer but that we're on a small plan as we don't use a LOT of data...they brought me down to 1GB then bumped me up. So I remain at 2GB but should only be paying for 1GB now.

Great deal but we'll see when the bill comes. I have this feeling lots of people are going to end up being charged a lot more once the bills roll around and they'll have to manually adjust/get it waived. I've been overcharged by them in the past at least with me I'm just going to pay what I was previously anyway if they do muck it up.
 
For those who have gotten the 10/20 plan change, your account may show the following verbiage or similar when viewing plan details (see below). ATT cs confirmed via text that plan details will be updated in 48 hours.

I see this on my account as well whatever that means. I didn't get a confirmation text but just spoke with an AT&T rep with billing and asked for one to be sent to me. I went from 1GB doubled to 2GB so was pretty scared ******** as he looked over my account, since data plans this low supposedly aren't supposed to be eligible. He gave me no problems thankfully and sent it to me to confirm.
 
I called "retention" this afternoon around 1pm and the CSR I got sounded annoyed as well... she even went as far as saying that I havent gone near my 10gig limit; why do I need the extra 10... had to BS her I have 2 other lines that are waiting for iPhone 6's... ultimately she gave it to me...

no credits or nothing... she did say once the plan is changed that I'll never have this plan again; no going back... like anyone with this plan would change anytime soon...

I don't know if this was said before but its really smart to type *data# in the phone keypad app and see what your current plan is. Ex:

How/where do you see what your total bill will be for? I thought we all had to wait until the next billing cycle?

Only call the RETENTIONS department. If you can't get through by calling 611 and choosing option 3, then ask for the Retentions dept only. Don't get into it with C/S or chat. If C/S asks if you want to cancel your account, then say yes, just to get transferred to the right department.

Just looked at my plan on the att app. Says my data plan is a mobile share1.. When I dig deeper it says its a sponsored data plan and it's showing no plan cost on it for now...
 
Wanted to mention that when I spoke with the rep a few days ago, he mentioned this offer was brand new and there are still some hiccups.

For example, some have reported that when they log onto AT&T to view their current plan, they receive this error:

However, I've discovered that my AT&T page no longer tells me the name of my plan. It use to say "Mobile Sharing 10GB" with the "Change Plan" link next to it. The title is gone, leaving just the "Change Plan" link.

I suspect that in the coming days (or weeks), we'll get updated titles and the ability to view current and other plans will be restored.

I had the same issue! I was able to talk to someone and was told its because its a made up plan and not an actual plan in their system. Called retentions and after going in circles for a bit had it changed back but I noticed it still doesnt appear right (even called back and had it confirmed). My plan name online and in the app show as blank as RCrod83 shows above but the data usage bar 20gb which is what it looked like a couple days ago before it got messed up. I worried it was going to happen again and I might miss out on the double promo deal all together so I just decided to go with the 15gb doubled to 30gb plan.

Work the numbers specific to your situation to see if you're better off where you are or with a Mobile Share plan. You know how often you upgrade, you know how often you get overages (ideally never). Grab the plan details off of ATT's site, fire up excel (or pencil/paper/calculator) and see what your costs would be.

If you do go to Mobile Share, realize that subsidized phones on a 10GB or higher Mobile Share plan are a BAD DEAL since you pay ~$150 more than if you bought the phone outright or used NEXT free financing plan.

FYI for your calculations, on my plan I pay $4.30 per line in various taxes and junk fees.
 
I called att this morning and found that they arent doing the double data on the 10 gb anymore. ugh! :(
 
I was on 10GB and upgraded to the promotional 30GB for $30 more a month. In light of ATT now willing to double the 10GB (to 20GB), I am tempted to call retentions and drop back down to save $30/month. However, if there is a way I can instead get the 30GB for only $7/month extra I think I would definitely stick with that! How did you do it??

It was the first option they gave me. No idea how or why. It seemed like he just clicked a few things and it popped up. Probably some retention discount calculated by total time as a customer with some other variables.
