They will NOT reverse the plan, no matter how much they may not like it or want to - that would be very bad and I would leave AT&T if they did that to me. The system messed up a bunch of accounts like mine, moving them to $205/month 20GB doubled to 40GB so CHECK YOUR ACCOUNTS! If the system shows that you should have the $100 10GB doubled to 20GB they will honor it no matter what. My CSR rep even gave me her name and number (I told her I was flattered but married). :p

I'm sorry that happened to you. I called retentions twice to confirm the change was 20GB for $100. And I called again today and spoke to a regular CSR and she confirmed it again. I think it would be wise for everyone to confirm via phone that they made the correct changes.

This has me a little concerned. I called on 10/22 and had my plan doubled to 20, but because my account was "parked" due to my pending 6+ order, they said they would put a note on the account and for me to call back after I got my phone and they would upgrade. Makes me wonder if I shouldn't call back today and see if they will still honor that agreement.

I don't see why they had to "park" your account due to a pending order. I placed an order on the 21st, same day that I received the double data, and they were able to make the change effective as of that date. I would call them again.

It was a royal pita to get my 10gb doubled to 20gb but it worked. Took 20 min of chatting.
The 1st csr had no idea what I was talking about and tried to make me feel like an idiot for requesting double data on the 10gb plan. I asked her to transfer the chat to a retentions and she said the are "closed".
So I started up another chat and the 2nd guy was way nicer and told me he will transfer me over to retentions.
So after 15 minutes of waiting, the retentions dept said that they didn't want me to leave att so they will honor the 20gb for $100. I asked them to confirm with a text and he did. Checked online and it shows 20gb!

20minutes of chatting to double my plan was well worth it. This all took place last night so I can't confirm it will work today but be persistent. 3 3 people I chatted with all had no idea what I was talking about but they eventually gave in!

Good luck!

Called this morning just to confirm everything was set. And it is for me. 20gbs for 100 dollars. The rep was really nice about it. Said he hasn't heard of it but that I was all set up.

instead of calling to check, as per another poster already posted in this thread: dial *DATA# on your phone and you'll get a text with your Data Plan...

Just don't freak at the "(deactivated)" next to your old 10GB plan. it's listing the new and the old.

I got this as a text message. Hopefully should be good to go. Was at 2GB/month and got upgraded to 4GB/month 1 line, $65.

per chat (with CSR and retentions), the 'plan' is not in their system and ended yesterday. :(

Wanted to mention that when I spoke with the rep a few days ago, he mentioned this offer was brand new and there are still some hiccups.

For example, some have reported that when they log onto AT&T to view their current plan, they receive this error:

However, I've discovered that my AT&T page no longer tells me the name of my plan. It use to say "Mobile Sharing 10GB" with the "Change Plan" link next to it. The title is gone, leaving just the "Change Plan" link.

I suspect that in the coming days (or weeks), we'll get updated titles and the ability to view current and other plans will be restored.

Does this confirm that we are on the doubled 10 GB plan?

I just got a text from AT&T asking me to take a small survey. I suspect most of you who got the 20GB will get it too.

Be sure to take the survey. I for one told them how happy I was with the help I got and how I no longer have any incentive to switch to Sprint or T-Mobile.

We should do everything we can to encourage AT&T to provide more data for the dollar. Anything under 10GB is rapidly becoming too small to fully enjoy modern devices, and it will only get worse as the technology progresses.

I checked my customer service summary on AT&T and the summary shows that the plan was upgraded to 20GB (MS Value v2.0). But the summary does not reflect the $25 discount per smartphone line. I have four lines. It should be $100 for the base plan and $15 per smart phone ($40-$25). Instead of $15 per line, the summary reflects that it is $40 per line.

I called CS again and she confirmed that my plan should be the same as before in terms of charges at ~$160 per month. She sent me the following text:

"AT&T Free Msg: Your monthly bill will be $160 a month with new 20GB plan. Your bill will reflect the 25 dollar discount for each line! Thank you! ......"

So hopefully when my bill arrives, I won't have to call back to argue about the $25/line discount. Good luck everyone!

I hemmed and hawed about this yesterday and called just now. The retention rep was really nice, and she suggested I call back next Friday to see if they're going to reinstate this deal or not, since 10/31 is when all the data doubling plans are supposed to end. She thought they may choose to extend the data doubling deals, and perhaps this 10->20GB deal too. She confirmed what was already posted in this thread... the deal was pulled from their systems at midnight.

Agree with this (even though I have to 30GB plan). If they send out surveys please answer them. They do believe it or not pay attention. Of course what they pay the most attention to is what the other providers offer. As long as we keep seeing data deals from other providers, ATT will be forced to offer up more. Here is hoping.

You can count on that.

Part of the reason I didn't jump on the "limited time" 15 GB doubled up to 30GB (for just $30 more) was the old negotiating rule of never taking the first offer: Hold out for more and it will come. And it did :)

But yeah, AT&T has to stay competitive. The deals will continue, but you will have to play the game - like threatening to leave, and meaning it!

Many people got the 30gb for 15gb and then switched to the 10-20 and got credited back the extra so there is no reason at all to wait for the right offer. Take it and if a better one comes along, switch to it. Not good advice in business but here it doesn't make a difference :)

BTW: I'd strongly encourage anyone considering this to get it done ASAP. I suspect as word gets around some higher-up at AT&T may pull the plug and they'll make it much harder or outright refuse to do so. Maybe not, but still best to not wait.

Nailed it.

I worked as a contractor at Cingular's corporate offices back right before they bought AT&T and changed. My experiences there were sufficient to change from them while working there, however I ended up back to AT&T recently because my wife's plan was better than I could get elsewhere.

Right now we have a 15 gig plan. Am I understanding this correctly, that they will not double the plans now? Or can we still call and get 15 to 30 upgrades?

the 15 to 30 is still good until Oct 31.
