Many people got the 30gb for 15gb and then switched to the 10-20 and got credited back the extra so there is no reason at all to wait for the right offer. Take it and if a better one comes along, switch to it. Not good advice in business but here it doesn't make a difference :)

True, but if everyone had jumped on the 30GB for 15GB deal then there may not have been a 20gb for 10gb offer (albeit 'secret'). The fact that it was going to cost more per month discouraged me. It may have discouraged others too?

The challenge is that you can't tell how everyone else is going to respond. Nobody can 'read' the market before it moves. In that respect, we consumers are in competition with each other - right where the suppliers want us. I prefer not to play that game.

It's gratifying to see the sort of cooperation shown in this thread. Consumer wins this round! :)

Having my may data double and getting a $200 credit from AT&T Wednesday had me feeling so good that I called Time Warner today and got them to lower my internet bill by $30 a month. They even started with lowering the current bill.

I would try it with my gas and electric, but I think they'd laugh at me and I would freeze this winter.

Thanks, worked for me late last night, but a few important details:

My account was parked because of an order for a 6+, so initially she couldn't do it. I cancelled that order because I've decided I want the 6 instead. After doing that, it worked. Small problem now is that I can't place the new order for the 6 because the system doesn't recognize the rate code I am on.

This worked for me, but took awhile. I was talking to a general service rep, who kept making me clarify that I wanted to cancel and had to document why. After offering me numerous other deals at different price points, she finally connected me to cancellations.

About 20 seconds into cancellations and mentioning Sprint, she doubled my 10gb to 20gb and said have a nice day.

I called the retention center today and got a really good deal..

I've been paying $195 + tax for a 10GB Mobile Share Plan with 3 smartphones, the representative was able to give me 30GBs of data for all 3 smartphones for only $175 + tax!

Unless you just bought Iphone 6's.... you just got the normal deal.... But now you must do NEXT, full price, or if you do a $199 upgrade the bill goes up $25 per phone.

Wow, this thread has over 27,000 views. Between this and the other forums, they must have had many thousands of people trying to do this. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. Would have loved to be a fly on the wall when the brass got their first report on the numbers taking advantage of this loophole.

Honestly I'm planning on switching to T-Mobile next year anyways.

Right now I've been paying around $210 for 10GBs and now the representative confirmed I'll be paying $175. So $35 off per month is definitely welcomed, especially with 20GBs of extra data.

Not a loophole. I didn't even mention Sprint, just said I have been a loyal customer and would like to double 2GB to 4GB. Done in 5 minutes with a credit to my account.

AT&T will make more money in the end off customer retention from satisfied customers (have you ever seen so much AT&T praise in your life!) than the cost of data. Data is cheap for the corporation, and most folks won't use everything they are paying for anyways.

No problem... I just wanted to make sure you had all the facts

that's the normal price (30GB for $130 + $15 for each device)

Unfortunlatey this is only for Mobile share plans.

I have a Nationwide plan 700 mins + 2gb (wife's) $25 + add a line $10 + unlimited data (mine) $30 = 145 a month (including tax)

Id have to switch to mobile share for them to upgrade my wifes 2gb to 4gb.

if i did contract for 20gb 100$ - discount = 77$ + 2 x $40 access = 157$+tax
if i did next for 20gb = 77$ + 2 x $15 = 107 + about 66$ for devices = 169+ tax

depending on how much tax is( I hear its about 20-25$). I'd be going up 10-20 a month + tax . so possibly $40 more a month to have 20gb instead of fake unlimited thats throttled after 5gb, and a 2gb plan. ( I avg around 11gb now)

I dont see us using a full 20 gb even if i continued to go bonkers on the netflix.

I had a similar issue such as yours. However, after trying (for about 45 minutes at 3am on pre order day) to get the new iPhone 6+ 64GB for the wife and me. I decided right there, that they don't want us on those older grandfathered plans anymore. I literally couldn't get the phone until I changed my data plan (to like 3GB or something). I worked it all out afterwards, and switched to the NEXT plan and pay monthly for my phones. Got my money back from the initial purchase, and sold of my 5s's. I complained about the upgrade charges, and the charges for switching over to new service, and fee's and whatever else I was not going to pay for. In the end my bill is about $15 MORE then originally. But, I had 4 lines, 2 for upgrades and 2 to use till the following upgrade. Your current solution is still cheaper then to switch. But, it may get more problematic the next time you try to upgrade. Hopefully you don't have any issues. :)

apparently this deal ended yesterday. is anyone else getting it today?

My friend told me this as well. But, I told him to keep trying.

Thanks for the response. It's really annoying to use the phone when is throttled horribly.
My plan is $60(700min) +$25 $30 for data $30 text. That comes out to 145. But my issue with the new plans is the $40 add a line charge for BOTH phones.

Even if my plan is 100 for talk data text. It's still 180 after 2 lines. But of course if I did next then it would be -50 but +66. So 196+tax.

They really don't want people on the old plans. And it's getting exhausting to fight them on it. I was gonna wait till after my board exam and upgrade by 31st. Now I may have to do it today. Really socks. If I can get the 20gb for 100 today I'll bite. If not 130$ is too much

Just did a text AT&T Survey, gave the woman in retention all 10's the highest level, hopefully if everyone does that maybe they keep on with the promo sometime in the future.

Same here but as far as recommending them to somebody, I'll give them an 8 still got screwed in the past with them mucking up my bills. I gave the reps service 10 for sure though. Now if they continue with deals like this I'll be the first to fully recommend them..

Did anybody ask (those that got it) how long the promo will stand for? Is it permanent?

It is indeed dead... RETENTIONS can NOT and WILL NOT do this anymore. On the phone now. I am getting my account fixed but the only reason is because I was supposed to have it on the 21st.

Did ATT fix your problem right away, or will they phone you back? The reason I ask is I read this thread last night, and I checked my data and it said 40GB! I called ATT and they claimed that the system had an error, and they were unable to switch back to 20GB because the promotion ended today. So the rep made a ticket, and will follow up with me in the next day or so. How many people have had their accounts ruined? On the 21st, I did verify that it said 20GB. They are screwing a lot of people over.

Just called ATT and the rep told me the 10gb promotion ended 10/23 but the 15gb or more promotion is until the end of the month.

Sounds like a bunch of ...

My account was changed on the 21st. I called in yesterday (23rd) and today (24th) to confirm that it reflects 20GB for $100. I called retentions within minutes of the thread being posted and got it done. It's unfortunate that this is happening to various people.

I got the same. I guess the "sure, we'll make you happy Mr. long time customer and match Sprints offer" got a little out of hand since it only lasted a couple of days.

I opted for the double your data and upped from 10GB to 15GB to get the 30GB and paying an extra $30/month when that promo started. so far this month i'm at 10.1GB with about 4 days left. I surley don't need the 30GB so paying the 10GB price like I was before but able to get another 10GB for free would have been nice.

maybe it will come about again?
