Did ATT fix your problem right away, or will they phone you back? The reason I ask is I read this thread last night, and I checked my data and it said 40GB! I called ATT and they claimed that the system had an error, and they were unable to switch back to 20GB because the promotion ended today. So the rep made a ticket, and will follow up with me in the next day or so. How many people have had their accounts ruined? On the 21st, I did verify that it said 20GB. They are screwing a lot of people over.

She said it might not reflect properly until 11/4 but she said that since I was supposed to have the plan starting on 10/21 that I am locked in no matter what. That means that anyone who made the switch before midnight last night will be locked in no matter what errors occur with your account. To be clear, this isn't someone reversing these, this was a system glitch that affected some people that got the 20GB deal because the plan doesn't officially exist in AT&T's system.

I got the 10>20 deal a couple of days ago and my account seems to reflect it, but just out of curiosity I clicked on "change my plan", to see if maybe they were changing pricing plans after all these double deals.

This is what my screen said...

"Looks like you have the only Mobile Share plan currently available to you. For further assistance, call 1-800-331-0500.
(SVCMS03)"

What's that all about?
 
I got the same. I guess the "sure, we'll make you happy Mr. long time customer and match Sprints offer" got a little out of hand since it only lasted a couple of days.

I opted for the double your data and upped from 10GB to 15GB to get the 30GB and paying an extra $30/month when that promo started. so far this month i'm at 10.1GB with about 4 days left. I surley don't need the 30GB so paying the 10GB price like I was before but able to get another 10GB for free would have been nice.

maybe it will come about again?

I actually use wifi for 95% of my daily data so not even really a big deal. Just didn't want to miss out on a free offer.

it's probably one of those, it was a glitch/very special offer, so before you go and change your plan, you will never be able to get the current plan again type plan. ;)

Maybe I wasn't clear... you should STILL CALL to have it fixed, call customer retention. Not sure if the glitch will fix itself without intervention or not...

I think it means that since the plan was not officially offered by att, they had to manually change it. I'm sure if you call them, they'll change it whatever plan you need.

Well, I don't use 95%.. But I use quite a bit of wifi in comparison to cell data. But I'm really fortunate to have gotten this deal. If I didn't encounter MacRumors it might not have happen... definitely thanks to OP who pointed it out. And special thanks to Sprint! Without Sprint.. definitely wouldn't had happen.. :D
 
Lol, was on the phone with ATT's "special" department (more like retention/cancellation) for 35 minutes but the lady wouldn't budge on the 10GB to 20GB Sprint match. She said managers sent out an email this morning telling them to stopping matching and instead pushing the 15GB for 30GB, which is about $23/month more than the 10GB, however after reasoning with her the whole time she suggested to try the 15GB for 30GB deal as long as I want and she gave me a $100 credit so I could go for about 4 months without actually paying more than my current plan. She even said I could take the $100 without switching the plan, which was nice. At the end of the conversation she was honest with me and admitted that she did that to keep me as a customer until the holidays. She said she knows for a fact there will be a price war between carriers and that similar or even better deals will be offered around then :eek: :eek: :eek:
 
Thanks for the response. It's really annoying to use the phone when is throttled horribly.
My plan is $60(700min) +$25 $30 for data $30 text. That comes out to 145. But my issue with the new plans is the $40 add a line charge for BOTH phones.

Even if my plan is 100 for talk data text. It's still 180 after 2 lines. But of course if I did next then it would be -50 but +66. So 196+tax.

They really don't want people on the old plans. And it's getting exhausting to fight them on it. I was gonna wait till after my board exam and upgrade by 31st. Now I may have to do it today. Really socks. If I can get the 20gb for 100 today I'll bite. If not 130$ is too much

Yeah, anything you do now will make your price go UP, unless your staying with your current phone. If you upgrade the phones, your prices will vary depending on which phone you get, and if you do a Next 12 month upgrade, or 18 month upgrade. If your buying your phones out right, then your price can actually go down quite a bit. I'd say about $145 for this 20GB plan under next (including tax). I know I don't need the 20GB personally, I had the 10GB and heard about the double offer on here (thanks guys!!). They took care of that fairly quickly for me over the phone.

At the end of this plan, I may just buy out my phones and sell them on the side. I think I could get at least $500 each for them next year (unlocked). And just keep doing the next plan on the new ones. Have to see if its worth the work.

I got my phone with the next 18 and right before the new one comes out in a year, I'll pay the balance and sell it and end up making $200 extra after paying off what I owe and then start next all over again with the new iPhone. This way, I can still upgrade every year and not have to deal with att.

LOL. It's hilarious when people overpay for something then think they got a deal when they pay the current appropriate price.

Haha, only thing is i'm not on the NEXT program.

Do you think I really didn't know what the 'appropriate' price for that plan was?

They offered $175, in reality the plan costs $225, and again, I don't do installment payments.

Yeah, there is still a way to make money on this. It was easier before, but the iPhone 5s everyone wants unlocked. Which made this whole ordeal with my old grandfathered plan very difficult to do. Fortunately I still sold both 5s's for $320 each (unlocked after about 3 weeks). But, the next go around I don't want to be stuck at the website trying to fight a stupid problem with my data plan not being accepted during an upgrade. I may have gotten my phone on launch day instead of a week and a half after. Plus I can just go to the store and get the new phone (or ship it), and not have to worry about selling it (if I don't want to go thru the hassle or don't find a buyer quickly enough).
 
Just got off the phone with att retintion department. They refused to double my 10GB, stating THAT special ended yesterday! I threatened to go to Sprint and still no luck. :(

Keep trying. It's always whom you speak with. Heck, they could even credit your account $50 or $100 sometimes. And remember to be polite. Long time customer, yada yada.

Yea, they dropped the hammer as they want customers to spend more money to jump to a 15/30 deal, than to have a 10/20 and not pay anything. Greedy, yes! They did the math as saw potential profit declining from us calling in and doing the smart thing for requesting the 10/20 deal. At least you still can get the 15/30 plan. Sorry to hear you were late in calling.

Mine is not officially fixed in the sense that it shows up properly in my account... she said it will take time and not to worry. But, she did say that in their systems my account does show $100 for 20GB monthly and that it should reflect in my account no later than 11/4. I asked her very specifically what would happen if by that date my plan is still not correct, she said if for some reason it is not, call back and they will fix it.

Again, since our start date is before they discontinued the plan, they will honor it.

Understood. I called back and spoke with someone else, who also said just wait a few days, until they called back with a resolution.

Only a few days late.. Chat rep told me the Data Offer is no longer available.

They did give me a $50 credit, so that works too.
 
Well I specifically waited until today before calling retentions so that I would have my new iPad Air 2 in hand to justify needing the 20gb plan. Just spoke to a very pleasant lady who said it was positively taken away at midnight last night. She said they knew it had gone viral on the Internet and that a 4x increase in direct request calls to their department had occurred. You can still get some of the other lower MSPs doubled but not the 6 or the 10gb ones.

The call was not a total bust, she lowered the fee for my unlimited texting by $10/mo :)
 
Just got done my 3rd chat (which transferred me to my 2nd phone call) & the man in the retention dept told me that this deal "expired" yesterday. He said the only thing he could do was to give me the 30gb shared for $115 instead of $130 which I declined. It was a pretty good deal but if you're on Next (which I am w/ my iP6), the bill would still be around $175 for 2 lines. That's with a 20% discount from my job ! No. Thank you.

Is the $175 including the monthly payments for the iP6? because when you pay that off, that drops.
