Is the $175 including the monthly payments for the iP6? because when you pay that off, that drops.

BL.

Yes it is. He tried crunching the numbers but I interrupted him to say that I just got my bill which was 190 & it would only drop to 175 which is still too much for me for the next 24 months. No big deal. There is some stiff competition out there right now. These Family Shared Plans will keep getting better. Just give it time

I knew I should've called as soon as I saw this thread. I resorted to chat instead. Damn social anxiety....

The only way that would make sense is if you purchased the 16GB iP6, and not even that is right. At the least, you're paying $25 - $40/month for the phone via NEXT, and depending on which one you chose to pay off the phone in (12, or 18), should you pay it off beforehand, you won't be paying that extra $25-$40/month, meaning that your bill should drop to roughly $150 - $160, assuming that only 1 phone is on NEXT.

Somewhere, the math doesn't add up.

i asked multipled times during my conversation and was told it was until i changed it/gave it up.

Good now we'll see if they stand true to their word. Who's bill cycles is already almost up?

That didn't matter tons of people scored over chat

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1414215432.069658.jpg should I still call retentions and confirm my pricing even with this text? By the way I made the change in plan on Wednesday.

Tried doing this over chat a few times (retentions closed and I just recently saw the thread). Both times they went over the number crunch, realized sprint is indeed cheaper, and then just told me they can't price match and I would have to call retentions.

I guess it's worth a call tomorrow.

Definitely worth a call. I hate talking to people on the phone so it took all I could to muster up the courage to make that call but let me say it was so easy and soothing. The lady on the phone was so incredibly pleasant to speak with. I didn't even tell them I was thinking of switching i just said word for word "I see Sprint offers 20GB for the same price as we are paying for 10GB, is there anything you can do for me?" and she said sure and the whole thing took about 5 minutes. She even asked if I was having any issues with signal at home or at a vacation house, which means they were gonna offer me a free Microcell but since I'm not I told the truth and said no. Very easy and pleasant experience, first time I've ever talked to retentions at ATT and I am completely impressed with how pleasant it was speaking to them.

I take it you did this on the 23rd or earlier as that was the last day it was offered.

Strike 2  Don't know how or what people are telling the rep to get their 10gb plan x2. But I tried again and still no go! I even explained that AT&T is doing this for others. She tried to tell me that, that isn't even an option in the system and tried to tell me that these people are either on 15 going to 30 or 20 going to 40! She didn't quite understand what I was saying. I gave up!

You got an uninformed Rep. It does happen or she/he doesn't know how to do it.

I've been on vacation and didn't see this thread until now. Called Retentions but it was not offered anymore. The rep did say she would have given it to me if she could.

I just called retentions for my brother who is on 10GB mobile share. The ATT retentions rep "claimed" the 20GB for 10GB deal ended yesterday.

So not sure if it's true or not. Or they just don't wan to give it to my brother. He was "late" on a payment within the last 6 months. It's more that he just forgot to pay and not really a financial thing with him. Maybe it's true? they don't offer it anymore?

Or because he was "late" on time, they won't give it to him.

I have ATT myself for over 10 years so I know ATT/Cingular sometimes won't give you certain things in retentions if you are late with even on payment.

It's been reported here and on other boards that AT&T pulled the plug on the deal.

I doubt it's just your brother's account, seems they shut down the party.

Just tried, they said they are no longer offering that 'promotion' but they can give me 30 for the cost of 15gb which is extra $30/mo.
No thanks.

I can only imagine how many people called during those days to get 10 to 20. Must have been a lot.

Yes I did it on the 23rd. I thought peeps in here said this deal was good until the 31st, what happen?

It was probably an assumption that it was good till the 31st, because the normal promos are. Though, with this posted all over the internet, a lot of people probably called in, so they pulled the plug on it. I'm lucky that I decided to do it on the 22nd and made sure I had it that day and not on my next billing cycle.

Some people reported on HowardForums that they were still doing it and one rep told someone that it was offered till December. Maybe it just depends on who you get on the phone.

I tried to cash in on this deal today, no go. The lady in retention dept told me they stopped doing it 2 days ago and have no means to override as the code they used in the system no longer works. She pushed and pushed to try and sell me the 15 gig (+15 gig for free) plan for $30 more a month. No thanks. Funny how even the retention department tried to get me to spend more a month.

Then that would mean they actually pulled the plug, which makes sense. This offer was originally for people serious about canceling, but word got out quickly. If you Google AT&T 20gb for the price of 10gb, you will see so many posts about this and some that aren't even showing (like HowardForums, AndroidCenetral, and even the official AT&T community forums). I even read that some people were dumb enough to tell retentions where they saw this offer at, so that could have killed the deal right there for everyone.

Why do people keep asserting this?

The reason they killed the deal is because how many people did the deal, NOT because they found out where people learned about the deal.

If they knew about the threads, and only 2 people asked for the deal, they would not have cancelled the deal.

Some system kicked out a daily report that showed what was going in retentions and that there was a big outlier and beyond what was budgeted. Someone looked at that report and decided to kill the offer.

They ended it either way. It really doesn't matter what the real reason was for it. I was just saying that some people actually said where they learned of this offer from, which shouldn't have even been said to the department in the first place.

I just hope it's really grandfathered because I'd be set for a LONG time. I love AT&Ts coverage this was just icing on the cake in what I was going to pay for regardless.

I've been with att for a very long time and if I had to guess, the plan is definitely grandfathered as I just don't see them going sorry, we have to take it away as that would cause some very pissed off consumers. I got it too and Im so glad I did!. I used to worry too much about going over. Not now :)

I fully expect it will be grandfathered.
Thus is not like the unlimited issue were people would use tons of data, this is just a discount that was given to a small percentage of their millions of customers
