I managed to get the 20gb for 10gb before they closed it off. The problem I'm seeing now is that I can't order an iPhone 6 thru Apple now without apparently losing the data bump. When I try to add it to the cart and it asks to keep my current plan, it shows $40 voice only. I can't check out without choosing a new plan. Anyone else seeing this? I opened a case with ATT but haven't heard anything yet. This is trying to use Next and I get the same thing just now when I tried the 2 year contract.

I just noticed this myself when trying to order a new phone for my wife. There is no way to do it, on the Apple or ATT site without changing data plans. What the heck is up with this? I'm hoping it's just a temporary issue due to just having the plan changed\doubled last week. I was told when this switch was made, it was permanent, unless I ever changed plans etc.

Going to call ATT later today as well to see what the deal is.

Stepson turns 18 tomorrow. We went into the AT&T store and bought him a iPhone 6 for his birthday and the guy doubled our data plan without our having to ask- he offered it.

When you call, navigate your way to retentions. I believe that you need to choose the option to cancel your service. I believe that these reps can make just about anything happen...

I hope this is just a temporary glitch and not a way to drive customers away from this plan.

I think you misunderstood what I was posting on. I already had the switch from 10GB to 20GB done last week. Went off without a hitch.

Problem was this weekend when I was online looking to replace my wife's phone. Both the Apple and ATT sites wold not allow me to add her new phone to the current plan we are on, but were forcing me to pick a new data plan. Hoping this is a temporary issue, but I guess I'll find out when I get a chance to call.

Nope no misunderstanding: I've discovered (because I now am connected via email with the retentions specialist who upgraded my plan and he is upgrading my phones) that the retention group is able to better explain and take action than the regular customer service group, so I will never waste time again with them.

But perhaps you are correct and this issue has been resolved...good luck!

Doh, sorry. Just assumed from the wording it was related to the initial switch issues.

Thanks for the info. I'll reach out to retention group regarding the issue I'm seeing as well should it come to that.

Is option 6 "retentions"? Because I didn't get that soecific option. I got an option to terminate account, which is what I selected.
just choose whichever number gives you the option to cancel your account. That should bring you to retentions (at least it did for me).

Get back to us with an update when you call them, I would be very interested in what they say as I am in the same situation as yourself.

Unable to add iPad

Like others are reporting, ever since the data upgrade from 10GB to 20GB, I have been unable to add another device to the plan. I tried adding an Ipad, but keep getting various error messages about an invalid data plan. I haven't had a chance to call AT&T about this yet, but will update when I hear more.

Same boat... some lines on our plan on upgrading early Nov. I called 611 -> 5 -> 5. They really had no resolution. Said everything was fine on their end and we could order the phone through ATT via him and it would be taken care of.

I explained that we had Apple Gift Cards and wanted to use those for the Tax/Apple Care.

His options were to:

1) Wait till the next billing cycle to see if it propagates through
2) Go to the Apple Store and purchase and if anything happens call 611 at that time...

Really no resolution. Said he would put a note in our account...

I am thinking that just waiting until the next billing cycle may sort this out. I had about 15 days left in my billing cycle left when I called retentions to double my data. After the call, I noticed that my usage for the cycle had been reset to zero (I had a full 20GB left with 15 days to go)

Yep. Can't upgrade my phone from Apple or AT&T's web site. It seems AT&T's system does not recognize our new rate plan. You'd think it'd be a simple fix, but it's been 3-4 days. Suggests AT&T is rather incompetent.

So talked to AT&T again... They said they do not know this will be fixed within a billing cycle.

His suggestion was to buy the phone under a 10GB family share plan and not activate it. He said to then call 611 and have them manually activate the phone which would then allow us to keep the 20GB promotion.

He goes if somehow this did get messed up though, we wouldn't be able to keep the 20GB plan... so this is a just a big mess...

Has anyone been successful at doubling a 30gb plan to 60gb ? I just tried and was denied.

they're still showing all the 15GB and above mobile share plans are doubled on their site... so you shouldn't have any problem getting the 60 for 30!?

My new phone is supposed to arrive tomorrow, hope to have no problems activating it since I have this new plan. Probably call to have it activated to avoid any problems.

Now I am worried about this, because if there is a problem with the 20gb plan and we will lose it if we upgrade, then we might miss the window to go back to the 15gb double plan before 10/31. Now we are in a time crunch to go back to the 15gb plan if we have to :(

That's an actual, advertised, promo through the end of the month. AFAIK you should be able to switch yourself to that plan through their website.

I have AT&T by the way.
I just went over to Sprint's site and found this:

Sprint Family Share Pack

Beginning today, new and existing Sprint customers will get virtually double the sharable data, for the same price as AT&T, on the 32GB, 40GB and 60GB Family Share Pack plans. This gives customers 60GB, 80GB, or 120GB of data – at no extra cost -- if they sign up by Oct. 31 at Sprint retail stores, Sprint.com or Sprint Telesales. Promotion will be available in additional retail outlets soon. Existing customers on the current Sprint Family Share Pack plans that want to take advantage of the “double the data” promotion can visit their local Sprint Retail store or dial *2 for Customer Care from their wireless device by Oct. 31.

So am I to assume that I indeed can go from my current 30gb plan to 60gb for FREE of charge ?

My suggestion is to wait it out until its all fixed. Eventually they will fix this mess because of how many people signed up for it. They can't really cancel it because that would mean they kept you on AT&T under false pretenses. Also technically means that because of their promise to match it, you missed out on the Sprint deal if you were to switch.

I just talked to retentions about being able to upgrade on the 20gb plan and he said that if I want to upgrade, I would have to order it through the retentions department. He said if I try to do it at an Apple store/online or ATT, it might change the plan and I will lose the 20gb plan. He also assured me that I was grandfathered in at the 20gbs and they can't just take it away, but a system would not know that and if the plan is changed, they cannot get it back for you.
