Both. You gave your reasoning and I don't agree. I don't think ANYONE should receive a discount on wireless service. Just because I work at X Corporation should that mean my electric bill gets discounted or my cable TV or internet? So why does everyone get discounts on their wireless bill.

Lol. You study hard as a child and work hard as a young adult to land a respectable job at a respectable company. Top-tier companies give great medical insurance, great vacation benefits (4 weeks), and great discounts (phone bill, Apple products, restaurants). Microsoft and JP Morgan will of course give better benefits (in addition to better pay) than Walmart.

What would be unfair is if someone that hasn't worked a day in their life receives the same benefits as an individual that worked hard their entire life.

We're veering way off-topic with FANs and discounts..

As of this morning, every time I try to view or change my current plan, I get logged out of my AT&T account. Homepage still shows 20GB of data.

Patiently waiting for all this to sort out in order to add iPads to our mobile share plan. Billing cycle still has a few days to go.

AT&T and other companies offer discounts because it encourages people to use their service. Also I'm sure they've done studies where if you offer say a 28% discount that person may pay for a higher tier of service, they are making their money either way. And there are probably places you can work that offer discounts on cable TV or internet.

Discounts are just a fact of life. It's not fair of course to those who don't get discounted. But I'm sure those who do, don't mind at all. Who in their right mind wants to pay more for a service?

Different companies contract with different wireless services for their cellphones.

Part of the deal-sweetener is often discounts available to employees for their personal phone service.

Discounts to land business from certain groups is a fact of life across all areas of business.

OK. Whatever. I do not care. I was voicing how I feel. You guys aren't going to change that. Back on topic here.

I have the same issue. However, in the iPhone app I'm able to view my current plan without getting logged out but it does not state the current GB amount for the current plan.

same here!

I get a discount of 25%. I'm guessing AT&T does this as an incentive to get people to sign up for AT&T at my company. It's business and things like this are done in every industry, not just this.

I had the problem where my 10-doubled-to-20 plan for $100 was switched to the 40 GB plan without my approval. I called 611, option 5 option 5 to talk to retentions again. Got put on hold for about five minutes, then she came back and said, and I quote, "we will be switching you back to the 20 GB for the price of 10 GB plan, but the reason it happened was because it was supposed to be a small promotional plan for a subset of customers, and someone went and posted it on the internet and ruined it for everyone, so the system has been taking it away from people who switched to it." So they're fixing mine, but based on that wording, I would think that everyone who was switched over will be switched to a different plan at some point once the system catches up.

My online account now has the 20GB plan specifically listed.
(in the past it just showed that I had 20G in the "pie chart", but never had the plan itself listed anywhere).

So it seems that it now is officially in the system for those that got the plan. Of course, they may not have updated everyone yet, so your account may not have it listed yet.

I doubt the rep said that since it absolutely makes no sense.

They had a promotion that they were willing to give to a limited number of people.

More people got it than expected due to the internet posting.

So how is that ruining it for everyone? "Everyone" was not going to get it anyway.

The system isn't taking it away from anyone. What happened is that some people had it entered incorrectly in the first place - the rep heard 20G and probably thought the person wanted the 40G for 20G option.

What does yours specifically say, mine says 20 gb as well, but how do you know you are getting it for the 10gb price.

I also went to view my current bill (my billing cycle ended last week, after I got the plan). There is says the 20G for $100.

People get discounts because the business world is very much quid pro quo. Employees at ABC Corp get discounts at XYZ Corp, and employees at XYZ Corp get discounts at ABC Corp.

In addition to the employee discount on products and services purchased from my employer, I get discounts on all sorts of stuff. Tax prep, cars, gym memberships, Apple products, Dell products, appliances, clothing, education, and more. Plus I get to use the corporate rate for personal travel so I get discounted hotels and rental cars. And I'd bet that in exchange, employees at all those companies get discounts from my employer on products.

You asked a question:

People answered your question.

I'm not sure quite why you'd be surprised at that.

I guess the poster of that message didn't like that i said they were trolling and reported me to the mods. I think some people are just upset that discounts exist in the world.probably the same type of people who are glad unlimited is gone because it "interfered with their service"

I just checked my account, and where before I would get the "You have a plan only available to you..." page, I now have a "null Mobile Share" plan.

Someone earlier today mentioned the Double Data promo was NOT going to end today, but no other details or confirmation. Anyone have any idea if that is the case or not? The AT&T site still says it ends today.

At&t wouldnt help me out. Shes like there is nothing I can do. When I tried Calling to Ask If They Would Match Sprint.

It is being extended another 15 days, but still no love for the 10GB plan..

Verizon is now offering 15GB for it's 10GB plan and sprint is offering 20GB.. Really looks like it might be time to switch, none of my family has contracts

My account just billed today and when I go to view the bill, it brings me to my Aug-Sept bill when I had 10gb. Won't let me see the Sept-Oct bill, but the balance seems right to me and I still have 20gb showing for data. I will check in a few days to see if I will be able to view the current bill details.

I got the 20gb of data for the price of 10gb deal a few weeks ago. I checked today, and my data changed to 40gb and the price went up without me knowing.

I called, and the regular rep knew nothing about this and claimed that I changed it (which I did not). They connected me to a higher up who said that the system is glitching and they have to file a ticket to get me back on the 20gb for 10gb pricing plan. Once this gets approved, a "higher higher" up will be contacting me via email. It was said this is a known issue and I should be back on that plan shortly.

Do you mean offering 15gb for it's 12gb plan?

Never mind I just saw it! Woohoo!
