I think we are just the first to get what will eventually become standard. With all the price warring going on, by this time next year this will prolly be a regular plan. May not even be that great of a deal, depending on how crazy the price slashing gets.

another post saying our plan shows on at$t's site now! :)

funny thing is they show our recommended as their 10GB plan... for the same amount of money.... ya, right!? NOT!

right now i'm not too worried about the upgrade situation since we just upgraded with the new 6+'s.... they've got a year to get it fixed so we can order online (and via apple, hopefully!)

i went with the NEXT plan that allows us to update next year if we want, and will just pay off the phones a month or two earlier than they are expected to come out so we can buy via apple.... i really don't want to deal with the whole ordering a brand new phone via at$t fiasco (aren't there people that ordered on the first preorder night still waiting for their phones from at$t?????)

I'm on the old family plan, does this apply to non shared data? Or how can I transition to this plan?

we've been at$t customers forever (originally with cingular)... but now that verizon has VOLTE, i'm not as opposed to them as i used to be.... if it came down to it and we could get a great price at the time we were getting new phones.... i'd consider it!

Hard to tell if 20gb will be standard. I would assume so, but I also assumed Apple would release 32/64/128gb iPhone 6 models.

I'm glad its properly showing up on the at&t account page now. Of course, I hope things go smoothly when upgrading. Upgrading with AT&T grandfathered plans has always been a pain in the you know what.

I don't see it in the site... They have $130/30gb but not $100/20gb

What? Then again 130/30gb is a cheaper deal, that's $4.33/gb but I don't really need that much lol

It's cheaper by way of per GB price, yes.

But if you were a 10GB subscriber, and got the 20GB upgrade for free, you got an overall better deal by not having to move up to 15GB to double up to 30GB for free @ $130($30 more per month for me). I wanted more than 10, but less than 30, so the 20GB is my sweet spot in data availability.

The 20GB for 10GB price has been dead for a week now.

Fail, I missed it.but then again I didn't have value share to begin with

True ur right

So my account which was originally switched to the 20GB for $100 was somehow switched to the 20GB for 40GB plan at $205/month. I called to have it fixed over a week ago and my account still does not show properly. They say it should be fixed by the 4th.

I am assuming that this is an issue with the way they are fixing the system to show this new plan on our accounts.

-New Plan is created Called 20GB share plan for those of us with doubled plans from 10gb.

-Old plan that is currently being doubled to 40GB is also called 20GB share plan

-Rep who is trying to fix current accounts for the name change clicks wrong plan on some accounts.

I can't see any way to differentiate between the 20GB plan I am on, that is actually 10GB doubled, from the 20GB plan that is being doubled to 40GB in name currently.

I'm a pretty new MacRumors forum member, so hopefully I'm not committing a huge faux pas by doing this. It has come to light that AT&T is now willing to match Sprint's 20GB for $100 family share plan by bumping their 10GB to 20GB and leaving the price at $100.

This is covered on page 10 of the AT&T Double Mobile Share Data Pool thread. The short version is, you have to call and talk to the retentions department. Tell them you're considering canceling and going Sprint for the 20GB for 10GB price, but you heard they would match. It's pretty easy. Must be done by 10/31.

However, I think this is pretty big news, especially for folks like me who took the 30GB offer, but really only needed a bit more than 10GB.

Thus, I started a new thread about a topic in an existing thread. I know, people get flamed for this. I think it is warranted in this case because the news is located on page 10 of the thread and I doubt most interested parties will see it. If you disagree, please flag this thread for a moderator to delete.

Time to change the headliner. ATT NOT doubling 10gb plans to 20gb.

Done. I didn't realize I had the ability to edit the thread title after other people replied. Rookie mistake, sorry for the confusion.

Only because there were still some quotes noting that the deal ended over a week ago. Some people just skim the headliner, original post, and jump to the last reply and wonder why they can't get the deal. With over 800 replies, takes some willpower to read them all.

BTW. Thank you immensely. One of the best threads for me ever here. I truly needed 20gb since I'll be traveling a week or two a month and 30gb was a bit too much and more money.

Kudos!

They stopped because they did not really offer this unless you were leaving and too many were asking for it, they told me they stopped because of the "Bloggers" today when I said I wanted to leave, for real I'm ready to jump ship to Tmobile for more data and they pay ETF, they told me they do not want to me to leave and then to keep me I was told to pay More money for more data. LOL yeah thats the strategy here.........................

Looks like the 20GB plan finally has an "official name". I hope this means that I can upgrade phones without having to contact the retention department.

Get the 200gb plan and the cost per gb drops way down.

Of course you don't need all that, so the logic is flawed. So, quoting $4.33/gb is flawed as well.

Still shaking my head.

I picked up a used 32gb 5s for $175 for my daughter. Phone is in very good condition with an excellent screen and some dings to the edges. With a case, you would never know the difference.

I went to a local AT&T store to activate and to switch out her texting phone. The place was a zoo with seemingly everyone and their mother trying to buy an iPhone 6. The in-store rep and his manager had problems activating the phone in their system and asked me to call 611 while I was at the store. Long story short, the CSR on the phone had to update some settings on her end. She and the in-store rep worked together to have the old phone switched out, and the 5s activated. My biggest concern was maintaining my 20gb plan for 4 lines for $160. I was assured many times that my plan would remain unchanged.

My latest bill does show the 20gb plan w/ the proper $25 per line discounts. Hopefully the next bill will be the same. I am always a little worried whenever a change is made to my plan.

Yep. Mine is showing up properly as well. Current plan lists as 20GB, and I even verified that when I go to the Apple web site, I am presented with the proper upgrade options for my wife and daughters phones. A week or so ago, it was trying to force me to a new plan, now, it allows simply ordering the phone on the current etc.

Very cool, and frankly, this 20GB deal is all I'll probably need for a long time. My current out of pocket cost, after FAN discount, is $140 per month for 3 phones, unlimited talk, unlimited text, and now 20GB of shared data!

Hopefully mine will change soon. Thinking about buying my wife a 6 for christmas but online is still trying to make me change plans.

Anyone else wish they could just charge us for what we use, without it having to be a plan? But at the rates the plans currently charge?

I hate the whole concept of paying for x GB at cost y per GB in the plan and then when you exceed x each additional GB is y * 5 or similarly outrageous.

Yes we all do but if they did that, price per GB would likely be higher than the block price, plus, each month your bill would be different and a lot of folks like to have a bill be the same each and every month.
