Good question. Does anyone know the answer here? Not that I have plans on leaving AT&T, but if and when I upgrade to the 6s, would I still keep the 15GB plan?

It should be for life.

----------

I just tried the Verizon match for 15G for 10G Price and it was a No Go. Rep confirmed there was never a 10 for 20 nor do they match Verizon's plans.

Oh well.:(

Make absolutely sure that you are talking to retnetions and not a regular rep. We have a business premier account and I had to hit 5 then 5 again to get to that department (I mention premiere because it may be different for you).

I had called them a few times because I initially called a few days after they ended the 20gb. I called the first day I saw the VZW promo and they mentioned that it wasn't in the system yet, but they were sure that it would eventually be put back into the system because they always want to be comeptitive.

I just called maybe 20 minutes ago, chatted about the snow in the Texas panhandle that my rep was experiencing, she checked my options, and added the 15GB plan straight to my account, no other questions asked. I was hoping for the $80 for 10GB plan, but it wasn't an option. 10 gigs has been enough for us, and saving $240 a year would have been aamzing. Oh well. Can;t complain about 5 free GB I guess. Verizon isn;t great here in new England, so they wouldn't really be an option for us anyway lol.

it better be for life...

I have a long time left to live (hopefully) :p and am not sure that "life" really matters. I don;t suspect they will take it away any time soon though. I do suspect there will eventually be better offers. I also suspect the grandfathered unlimited plans will eventually disappear.

----------

Thats a great deal too...and comes close the 20 for 10 for the same price.......but if you dont need a ton of data then a great value is if you can get retentions to match verizons 10 gigs for price of 6 for 80 bucks...cuz you will get the 15 buck device charge with that deal too...and slap a fan discount on in and your payin about 62.50 for the data.......nice

I tried to go for the $80. They wouldn't do it. Said it wasn't an option in their system. Obviously they can tell me antyhing they want lol. I'd like to hear if people are successful with the $80 though. That's $240 a year I can throw towards a new device :D

----------

They keep telling me that they can add the plan back if it's lost but I don't believe them either. I had them note on my account that I want to keep the promotional plan so hopefully activating the phone won't have an effect. If I ever get my phone I'll report back lol!!

I wouldn't doubt it. I had unlimited removed accidentally by an MS rep when I used an upgrade on Lumia 920. At that time the unlimited plan had been discontinued (aside from grandfathered plans) for around two years. It took some calling and case numbers and the whole nine yards, but they were able to put the unlimited data back on my line within a week, maybe less.

I think they must have lied to you! Because I am on that plan right now because the Store Clerk could not activate my Air 2 without reverting my 10/20 plan down to 10 then to 15 for $100. Now I have to wait until the 26th to have them figure out how to get my 10/20 back. But if the store clerk could do the 10/15 then it is a viable plan.

I'd be surprised if this were absolutely necessary given that the 15GB-for-the-price-of-10GB plan is published on AT&T's own website: http://about.att.com/story/att_give...tomers_15_gb_of_data_for_the_10_gb_price.html

If a CS rep can't give you an advertised plan there's something seriously mucked up.

AT&T matching Verizon's 15GB for the price of 10GB promo

Fwiw, and as has been mentioned, this will appear as a regular Mobile Share plan. After seeing this thread yesterday I simply logged into my account on the AT&T website and choose the 15GB/$100 plan. Easy as pie.

After selecting the 15Gb plan are people seeing "Promo" in the plan name? Mine shows Mobile Share Value Plan 15GB Promo. And of course it still doesn't work on the Apple site as of now.

My situation has been similar to yours. Called on the 22nd, couldn't upgrade then because of a "parked" account, promised it would be added by Nov 4. Needless to say, it was never added and I was actually bumped down to a 4GB plan on Nov 4. A couple of phone calls after promises to call back weren't fulfilled.

Got a text! yesterday morning (Nov 8) that said they can't add the plan. Called them back, they acknowledged that a couple of different reps had promised me the 20GB data, but said they were unable to add it and would not continue the issue. Instead, they offered me a $25 adjustment "for my frustration and inability to keep their promise".

Unfortunately, they know they have me by the throat as I have two brand new Next phones (wife's iPhone 6, my 6+) through them. I could pay them off right now, but don't really want to shell out that much money at once. Going to wait a couple of months and pay off one phone at a time and head to Verizon, I guess.

They kept offering me credits and line adjustments and I just told the lady on the phone that while I appreciate those offers, I don't want them and just want the 20GB of data that I was promised by two different representatives. That and the space grey 6+ they canceled without reason after waiting for 5 weeks. Oh well, life moves on.

As of Monday Nov.17th they are offering the 15 gig plan for the 10 gig price. No need to call just log into your acct and go to change plan. I know it is not 20 but it is better than 10!

Similar problem at Apple Store. I have the Mobil share 10GB doubled to 20GB. When trying to upgrade one of my lines to an iPhone 6 at the Apple Store the system wanted us to choose a new data plan. Calling AT&T they said too bad, if you choose a new plan we cannot add back the 10GB doubled. A supervisor said the same thing. A manager, was smarter. He just temporarily removed that line from the share group. That allowed the system at Apple to proceed with the iPhone upgrade, and he then re-added the line to the share group. This took over an hour of angry calls. Apple rep was luckily patient in a very crowded store. Years of iPhones and AT&T cannot get it's act together .

Wish I had read this Monday and I would not be in the headache I am in now. Thanks for the tip as we need to upgrade another line soon and when I get my 20 back I do not want to lose it all over again!

Adding a device to 20GB plan?

Has anyone succeeded in adding a device to the retention 20GB plan? I have been unable to so far. Thinking of downgrading to the 15GB plan, since it is at least an official promotion.

A slight tangent, but here it goes: for those on the 20GB doubled plan, you'll always be worrying about losing the plan when you make any change or even if you just call AT&T to say hi ;) Since the 15GB plan is a 'real' plan, it won't come with that same worry. Definitely worth considering giving up the 20GB and taking the 15GB now while you can, and sleep easier at night ;)

Why is 15GB a real plan? This is also a limited time promotion. So you still have to worry about losing it if you need to add a family member or whatnot.

Certainly a valid opinion, but lots of people survived for years under a similar Sword of Damocles with their grandfathered unlimited data plans... I anticipate that in time the kinks and gotchyas will be worked out just as they have been in the past.

The 15GB plan is something in their system that any rep can access and is aware of. The 20GB plan sounds like something only the retention reps can (could) do. So it is unlikely one would need to worry about the 15GB plan in the same way. Now, if you are one to worry about the future of any plan, all bets are off ;)

I've upgraded 3 phones on my plan post 20GB upgrade, although all phones were not purchased through either ATT or Apple.

..our plan was a real live plan for about a week....now it is a grandfathered plan that is still in their system....just like the 850 rollover,,family talk nation,,,unlimited data....etc......and.if you ever get your grandfathered plan mistakedly changed by an agent... Then as long as its within 60 days of the change then they will reinstate yor old plan.....so giving up the 20 for 10 for the 15 for 10 would be nuts.
Check out the screenshot to see the official 20 for 10 plan name

this sounds like a deal. I opted for the 30GB @ 15GB price when it became available because I was always at the 9-9.5GB/month mark at the end of every month. I was 1 day too late for the 20GB for 10GB price. I'm jumping on this and saving money.

The poster reported they wouldn't honor the deal. I was merely trying to help as precious deals required retentions. It's nice that others are reporting not even having to call, rather just logging in and uodating their account.

I wonder if this is something Att plans to advertise at any point?

You mean like this?

Haha that works. I more meant with ads in front of their stores and in windows. But seeing that link in sure that is in the way too. :)

----------

I haven't seen anyone on Verizon comment yet, but the 15GB plan is now on the website for $100. 10GB is $80.

This Att plan is a direct result of Verizon's iffer, which started November 1.

No, I called on the 22nd and had it start Nov. 6th on the start of my billing cycle. I checked yesterday and they put me on the 2gb plan instead of the 20gb plan.

Now they are saying they are reviewing for the next 2 weeks.

So the deadline for the resolution of my case was 11/18 so I called in today.

They said, i'm sorry we did not meet the deadline but your case is still open. They do not have an estimated date any longer. They actually recommended I close my account lol

They wouldn't even off me 15gb.

I obliged and am awaiting Tmobile sims.

Seems I can keep my 20 GB plan when ordering through apple. They fix it? Tried this on both lines and got the same message.

Nope. It says existing plan.. Would that not be it? I didn't hit continue because I wasn't sure how many more steps til I ordered a phone lol.

Lol. I was so hoping they've fixed this issue already. I tried to do the same thing you did but went ahead and clicked Continue. The next page asks you to select a data plan. Therefore, they haven't resolved the issue yet. They better resolve this before the new iPhones get released. They have time. :D
