Just called the 866 number.... "I'm sorry, we're experiencing technical difficulties, please try your call later".... YA THINK?!?!?

I would do that except when you call to speak to a customer relations person, they claim they have not heard of anything unusual and blah blah blah. Something definitely happened and any info would have been nice.

That's why you should wait to call after 8pm, when there's no more chance of delivery.

Though they have their butt covered with the estimated dates, you'll need to leverage the "poor experience as it relates to other carriers shipping out the same color/model on time".

AT&T screwed up here big time. I didn't get my tracking number as of this morning. I am upset that folks who ordered much later received tracking numbers but like most of us here didn't hear anything even when we ordered BEFORE midnight. Is that first come first served?? Stupidity of AT&T. They better take ownership of this issue & see what they need to do so that they don't lose customers.

I pulled a *******'n all nighter so that I can order through apple, but guess what people without a U.S. drivers license can not order through apple so that basically eliminates international students. So I was stuck with AT&T "premier", n I ordered through AT&T that too at 3:40 am est, after a week with horrible customer care experience, way worse than I have ever seen, BTW I live in India n I thought customer care there was bad LOL, now I am not even sure will I receive a phone or not as my shipping date says pending confirmation.

They accept passport. Got it from  store 2 times on launch day.

I hope that my phone shows up today without a tracking # and the cancel my preorder button is still there so I can click it from my new iPhone.

Now it's showing this again when you login. How can a company this big be so messed up?

It seems that a lot of the people that ordered before the actual pre order time of 12:01 am are having the issue i wonder if by ordering it ahead of the real launch time messed up your orders

Today should be an interesting day to watch ATT's FB/Twitter lol

Debating whether to cancel at this point or hold out and maybe my phone could magically appear today (not holding my breath)

The $541 hold on my AMEX has finally fallen off. What's that supposed to mean again?

That probably just means the merchant had released the hold on your account. With Citibank the merchant can hold funds for up to 30 days until they submit the actual charges. No idea how AMEX deals with the length of time for holds.

I've got a 6 heading here today and the charge on my Citicard is still showing pending, never fell off.

Nope. Mine was 5 min after and I'm still at 10/2 - 10/13

It is like saying standing in line before 8:00 am store open time, messes up peoples order. People ordering before 8:00 am will not get their phone, only coming after 8:00 am will. But that is not the case, they get their phone first. It is up to store owner when to open the store.

Same should apply to online orders as well. Simple explanation is AT&T ****** up and din't bother/care to update us. They have enough orders to make their profitable revenue. Few people like us leaving is like taking a bucket of water from sea. It won't matter to them, and they will do nothing.

So I decided to send an e-mail to Mr. Stephenson. I'm sure it will do nothing to get my phone in my hands any sooner but I also felt that I needed to express my frustration with him.

Good morning Mr. Stephenson,
As I am sure you receive countless e-mails each day I will attempt to keep this short in hopes that you have a chance to read it and perhaps respond. I am sure that you are aware of the problems associated with the pre-order regarding the iPhone 6+ but what I am unsure of is what if anything AT&T is doing to rectify the situation or at least communicate the problem(s) and solutions effectively to you customer base.

In the event that you are not aware of the problems I will outline mine for you briefly. I set my alarm to wake up at 2:45 EDT on Friday September 12th to make my way to my home office to begin the process of pre-ordering my iPhone 6+. Got through and successfully placed my order at 3:05 EDT with the confirmation e-mail arriving at 3:12 EDT. Thinking that all was well I returned to bed pleased thinking that I would receive my new device on launch day...after all that's what pre-ordering is supposed to do for you.

Later in the day on Friday I received a text message stating "Congratulations! We have processed your order 1912****** and it has been sent to our warehouse for shipment. You will be notified when your order ships. Well I am here to tell you that as I compose this e-mail at 8:20 AM EDT I have received nothing from AT&T besides faulty information while I sit and read on line forums and posts from individuals who in some cases, ordered their devices through the same AT&T channel 4-7 hours after I did will be enjoying their devices today. In these cases these individuals have been asked to supply the on line forum community with screen shots of their order status pages to verify that they do indeed have a status of shipped and also have tracking numbers which they have provided to the dismay of the others who clearly placed their orders before the "lucky" ones who somehow were moved to the front of the line.

My understanding is that pre-ordering is fulfilled on a first come first serve basis. Obviously this practice is not followed by your organization and I can tell you that your customer base is furious. If you care to look into what I am referring to please follow this link and read a few of the 3,158 posts over 127 pages of disgruntled customers.

I sincerely hope that you have a plan to rectify this situation or at least can find the common courtesy to provide valid information as to why this occurred.

Please feel free to contact me at the number below should you have any questions or would like to discuss this matter in further detail.

Regards,

Jared ********

Nice one man!

As if the crap we're getting from att reps isn't bad enough. Any store I call they claim to not know how many devices they have in stock. How is that even possible?! Is everyone at att flying blind?!?

Nice one man!

Thanks...as I said, I'm sure this will do nothing to get our devices to us but I also encourage all of you to drop him a quick line. Perhaps you could all use the same subject line I did to get his attention:

AT&T iPhone 6+ pre order nightmare

I ordered 10 minutes before 12am and it seems like earlier orders do have problems (not getting mine today). I was waiting on the countdown page when it automatically refreshed to the login page. So I obviously placed an order. AT&T screwed up big time, plain and simple.

Does anyone else find it hard to believe that out of all the people in this forum (granted I know it;s a small sample size), the people on the west coast specifically California, are the ones left in the dust?

I'm in NY and I am in the same boat as everyone else.

I'm very much left in the dust also, and I'm in Michigan. I am pretty sure this is a countrywide screw up. Stuff just isn't moving anywhere for ATT regarding the 6+
