I stopped by att store to just see the phones and ask if any magic trick made any more 6+'s show up. The rep said no and I told them my situation and the rep tried to tell me "none of our preorders for 6+'s were delivered today" I asked who told them that and they said management has said that. I let them know that was s complete lie. Do they really think flat out lying to us when we know they're lying is a good business strategy? Couldnt believe that.

They think that we are all sheep and will believe everything they have to say not thinking that we may have educated ourselves to the situation much better than they have.

Poor word choice on my part.

Broadly speaking, UPS does not deliver on Saturday and FedEx does not deliver on Monday.

Just like USPS does not deliver on Sunday.

Of course all three have special services in which they deliver on all of those days.

UPS delivers EVERY saturday, barring a major holiday.

iphones WILL be delivered tomorrow.

and fedex does deliver on mondays

ATT is screwing me over

Hey,

So I went to my nearest ATT store to cancel my preorder and get my 6+ there, but the guy told me that if I cancel the order now I would not have my upgrade eligibility for a couple of days more. It's that true? Sounded like BS to me in order to get me the hell out of the store.
BTW, I did the preorder by Next. I went for a Silver, 64 GB 6+

Did anybody cancel and was able to get a 6 in the store?

From what I understand it could take that long but I have also heard of people having their upgrade status back in minutes. Never done it so I don't know for sure. To answer your other question, yes there were people that were successful in picking one up in stores today and cancelling their order.

Delivery from Apple/AT&T isn't considered a regular residential delivery is it? I thought it was express or something. I'm shootin' in the dark here.

shots fired from Verizon to at&t

this is so funny. I love when they do this on Twitter. They're all extremely shady with each other but on a more serious note, some guy from corporate just called me and asked about the email I sent. He told me he would have to "investigate" into the issue involving what happened with the que. It was kind of pointless talking to him though because he obviously can't do anything about his crap system now.

Takes about 5 minutes, give or take a minute.

It takes a little while for the system to reset your eligibility. Possibly longer than usual due to all this activity, but a couple days seems long. I cancelled through Apple and my eligibility was reinstated within an hour, but that's Apple, not AT&T...

I contacted ATT on live Chat this morning at 4am. My iPhone + 64GB Silver was estimating 10/22 for delivery so I was going to cancel and take my chances in a store. He told me that I couldn't cancel online, I had to call a specific number and they didn't open till 8am PACIFIC time. I told him that wouldn't work because AT&T and Apple stores in Boston opened on EASTERN time and therefore much earlier. He said then I couldn't cancel because they wouldn't be able to cancel it in either an ATT or Apple store. I told him I guess I was out of luck then because if I waited till 8AM Pacific time, everything would be gone. He said it seemed like my best option was just keeping my ATT pre-order...

Also I ordered right at 3AM EDT on 9/12 and am looking at 10/22...

The pathetic thing is that it doesn't even take much of anything to educate yourself these days. Even a cursory glance at any of the primary forums shows scads of info that refutes their nonsense. God forbid they do it themselves before speaking.

What's that saying...it's better to remain silent and let them assume you're an idiot, than it is to say something and confirm it.

we were told this morning that all iphones that need to be reattempted will be brought into and locked up in an office and reattempted tomorrow (saturday) regardless if its air or ground.

typically saturday is only for next day air/saver, 2nd day and 3rd day air. no ground. the iphones are an exception.

Yep. And I think someone mentioned that for a delivery this large, Apple and UPS would have a custom contract for release day/weekend.

Went to visit my brother and check out his new 6+. He and his coworkers paced their orders
at 3:30pm on the 12th a full fifteen hous after my order was placed and premiered into a month backorder. Six 6+'s all of divert colors and configurations ordered 15 hours after my order filled buy sprint and in hand.

Again, I already stated I realize special services (2 day, overnight, etc.) do get delivered from each carrier on Saturdays and Mondays. I stand corrected on that.

Let me rephrase - FedEx does NOT deliver normal ground packages on Mondays and UPS does NOT deliver normal ground packages on Saturdays.

Source: myself over a decade of receiving hundreds of deliveries.

Since you are a UPS driver maybe you can shed some light here. I am fairly serious hobbyist automotive builder/fabricator. I buy dozens of auto parts/tools/accessories each month and have been for 10+ continuous years. Needless to say almost all of these items are shipped to me UPS or FedEx ground service.

Why do NONE of my UPS items EVER get delivered on Saturday? And NONE of my FedEx items EVER get delivered on Monday? I can watch the tracking on these items and there is ZERO movement from UPS on Saturday or FedEx on Monday. Again, I have been observing this for over 10 years now.

If I order a part from Rock Auto on Monday, and it ships Tuesday via UPS. Arrives into the Mesquite UPS hub very late Thursday night. Without fail there will be zero movement on this package on Friday and without fail the package will be delivered to me on the following Monday. Same thing with FedEx just substitute the Friday "dead day" with Monday.

For this reason, I actually prefer FedEx over UPS because with FedEx I know the Saturday gives me that extra day and I don't waste my weekend waiting for a part.

So are both UPS and FedEx for some bizarre reason singling only me out and screwing me over?

My cancellation went through immediately. Rep cancelled pre-order and in-store rep rung me up for my 6plus 64silver on the spot.

UPS only delivers air on saturday unless its special occasions, like christmas and apparently iphones. fedex ground and express delivers on monday, apparently fedex home doesnt.

You were LIED to. I did cancel my preorder on Live Chat and I got a confirmation email about an hour later.

just sayin....but did anyone else remember a delivery date saying something like "get it delivered 9/19!" on the right hand side of the AT&T site as you were about to pre-order?

I don't but in the frenzy of trying to get my order in for launch day, I may have missed it.

signed up for Comcast.

Trust me when I tell you that you just went from the frying pan to the fire. I'm not at all happy with the way that this was handled by AT&T. But my experiences with comcast have been so much worse. I'm still waiting for a credit of $216 to be properly applied from 8/2013.

I appreciate the idea of voting with your wallet and AT&T most certainly botched this. But good luck with comcast, my friend. Good luck. You will need it. This pre-order mess is but a minor hiccup compared to what you will be dealing with each month when you have to call comcast after receiving your bill.

So I just got off the phone with Grace and she tells me that she knows of no one that has received either tracking or their device and asked me if I could send her the telephone # of anyone who has. I told her that I didn't think that people would want to publish their telephone #'s on the web but that I would ask.

She thinks that we are all lying about it and said that there is no way anyone has them yet.

Please let's take this to them and please let me know if you would be willing to cooperate. If not, simply send her an e-mail or call her directly like I did.

Her contact info is as follows:

Grace Milton
502-969-0770
gm1769@att.com

Please anyone with tracking information or has received their iPhone 6+ please read this and help us out:

Just sent her a quite lengthy email. We'll see if she actually responds with more than the standard BS

I hope she does and I am also hopeful that people have been sending her screenshots of their order status pages and tracking information.
