I also found stock at the local Apple Store so I cancelled by preorder and ordered through Apple. Too bad Next orders can't be picked up in store so I am back to a 3-4 week wait. I'm hoping though that ordering through Apple means it will ship sooner than that.

I was under the impression that Apple can now process Next orders at the physical Apple Store? Is this not the case?

I planned on heading to my local Apple Store once it opens ( They have the Plus the configuration I'm looking for) and if they allow Next, I'll cancel the AT&T orders and walk out with my phones lol

This is why I love the MacRumors Apple community. This love-hate relationship we all have with Apple runs deep in our blood. I woke up early this morning with a small sense of hope that I would have updated shipping info, of course I was unpleasantly denied. As I made my way to this thread to sulk my sorrow away with you all, I was happily surprised to hear that many of you have cancelled your orders and placed pick up orders at Apple Store today--across the nation. Thank you all, for this information. I am currently attempting to cancel my order as we speak. I am also probing for info for many of you future cancelers so I figured to share the convo I had with the CSR chat. Also, she lied, as what many have already said, my upgrade eligibility reset almost immediately and I was able to order for pick up from the Apple Store right away!

Footnote, this whole chat process took 20 minutes... The longest 20 minutes of my life... J'zuz F#$%ing Xst.

AT&T seriously drop the ball on this one... Once these phones are more readily available I'm planning on jumping ship, possibly taking advantage of T-Mobile's switch plan and ETF coverage... F#$% AT&T. I'M FREE!!1

Well, switched to Silver from SG and now going to pick up the phone about 30 minutes from here. Still with AT&T. Cancelled preorder using the link in email. Less than 5 minutes and my eligibility was restored.
 
This is ridiculous. I already ordered my phone for in store pick up from Apple. Had another line eligible for upgrade so I'm just going to do a swap. Haven't canceled my order yet as I kind of want to see just how long it will actually take to get here.

I can't find the time stamp any more but I remember seeing something on either fedex or att saying 2:07 am

Sounds like that was a pilot program and like most things probably got delayed

Yeah. I have an actual business account. I know some people who have edu discounts or whatever discounts have a premier but are still able to order from apple or from best buy etc. I on the other hand can ONLY purchase through premier (or a corp. att store). Its an absolute sucky thing though.

Where you at in the queue AD? Any movement on your end? Tempted to just call around the local ATT stores to see if they have stock. Not sure what the point of waking up this early was for now.

Stuck at 10/2-10/13, despite having ordered early. My first and last preorder. It's been an experience, though. I'm going to show up at our local AT&T corporate store at 10, when they open, to see if they have any Pluses. If they don't, I might get a 6 instead. I have an Air.
 
I got the email this morning for the second 64 plus this morning about the expected ship dates of 10/2 still being on track. I'm not going to think about it anymore. They'll come when they come.

That was what I wanted to know. They won't let you do next online? Or that particular store doesn't do next? ATT said some stores don't do next period.
 
I got to it from my original premiere email order confirmation that provided the web order number. There's a link it it where you can check the status.

I just cancelled and ordered 6+ 128gb SG with leather case available to pickup in an hour!! Screw you AT&T :)
 
I made this account because I hate ATT for ignoring the preorders, offering no information, and seemingly creating confusion/false hope for our orders.

1. Woke up today, saw that people are ordering their phones for pick up.
2. Checked availability on apple for in store pick-up. All of my stores in the area had them (cleveland)
3. Digitally cancelled my order through the email order status link that we received in our first email.
4. Within three minutes, I was able to order my new iphone 6 plus via apple.com for in store pick up.


TLDR: Upgrade eligibility refreshes in minutes. Cancel and go through apple in store pick-up, if you can.
 
Trying to cancel my premiere order. Hit the button... but once I got the emails it said "my request was unsuccessful". My local apple store has pluses, but I can't get my upgrade back!
 
Doing an online chat with AT&T now. Don't even know why I am waisting my time. Their just going to tell me the same things i already know.

i tried chatting with at&t 3 times and they "transfer" me to the appropriate chat but they always end up throwing me back to the contact page so I'm getting nowhere with that in terms of checking my updated status so far.
