Don't think those numbers matter much either...
Ordered two phones, 6+ was ordered first at 3:03 EST and 6 at 3:07 EST. The 6+ (estimated shipping date 10/13-10/22) has 9109 post hyphen number and the 6 (launch day delivery) has 1114 like yours.

They aren't in order, they have to do with batch numbers and shipping. If you check last years thread somebody broke it down and everyone was able to determine where they stood.

That being said, theirs no gaurantee it applies to this years debacle. I just know the first 4 are random. What comes after - is not.

Ok, here's some good news.

My "status" at AT&T still says 10/13-10/22

But UPS my choice shows an iphone being delivered to me this Friday 9/19.

So yes it appears it's option 2- AT&T is completely incompetent in providing accurate inventory/shipping data.

A 6+?! Color/size? Pre order time? Bank still showing charge? Grrr!

Yes, 128GB 6 Plus

there's an option to show a calendar of deliveries- it showed the iphone one for Friday.

UPS My Choice® Delivery Planner is the name of the page

Naturally mychoice says it can't verify my address lol. Makes me cry a bit inside.

I saw you posted earlier that it's the 6+ 128gb Space Grey, right? That's the same one I ordered, so that gets me excited. Can you verify that you didn't order any other phones?

I had my pending charge disappear on my chase card. Status still says preparing to ship with a 10/2-10/13 date. Is this good or bad?

Some people have said the charge dropping off is good. Like the step before shipping. I have no clue. I don't anticipate that being the case but I'll certainly take it if it is. Mine dropped and I have no recharge either and my date hasn't changed. 10/31-11/07 still with the same size and color as dude who is getting his the 19th.

What does it all mean?

no change in shipping for me but my charge is still there since the 12th when i first ordered it

Our charge has disappeared as well... but our date/"preparing to ship" status is still the same. Maybe we'll have an update or know more by later today?

It seems much more likely that charges moving from pending to posted would be good news, as opposed to disappearing completely. Disappearing charges might show up again directly as posted or they might just be gone until AT&T has more stock.

No idea why having the pending charges fall off would imply anything positive.

Yea just 1 phone , sorry bud

Oh, I'm fine with it being just one phone - just hoping it's the 6+. My wife's can wait (since she doesn't know about this forum I'm safe to say that) :)

Now, I guess the question is whether a 6 is 1.20 lbs and the 6+ is 1.30 lbs.

The land of the rising sun is Japan, not China :)

I've seen from some in earlier posts that the pending charge disappeared and a few hours later a full charge was made. Just from what i've seen in this thread. :)

Yea i don't see it as a positive...but here's to hoping it is positive.

Perhaps things will change now that phone actually actually touched down here in the states. Maybe...

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/09/16/supply-of-new-iphone-6s-has-landed-in-chicago/

That guy is my hero. That's like being a fat kid and waking up to your bed being made out of cake. I would dive at the pile head first lol could u imagine?

Surprised one of those shipments hasn't been hit by organized crime ya know. Those guys used to hit anything from bread to cigarettes. Getting a truck full of iPhones you would never have to work again... Ever. Sell 1 a week for the rest of your life and you would do just fine lol.

Anyhow, back on topic. Based on the weight of that shipment, it's only 250k phones. Assuming they are ALL pluses, that's still only 5k per state. A drop in the bucket.

Then they're all in Alaska and we are only 3 days out! Aaaaaaaaah! /dies

Charges/Shipping weights

I do a lot of online shopping. Charge authorizations fall off differently for different banks, different merchants, etc. Sometimes it's a day, sometimes 3, sometimes a week. I wouldn't put any weight in whether your charge has or hasn't fallen off. (For the record, mine is still there and I have a 10/2 estimate, and my order was processed before midnight PST which means it has technically been an extra day.)

Same with shipping weights-- when the merchant creates a label they put in a placeholder for the weight. Once the package is actually in transit, the carrier (UPS or whatever) usually updates it to the correct weight-- but again, not always. So it doesn't mean much either.

Did you order through apple or AT&T?

what site did you order from?

AT*T... why else would I be posting in a thread about preprders from AT&T?

But now the bad news... this might be my wifes phone ordered from Apple.

I had thought her phone would be address to her, but I had her check her order and while it shows it BILLS to her, it SHIPS to me (since I'm primary on the account).

She's getting a 6 Plus 64GB space gray... ordered from apple around 4:30 eastern time. 90 minutes after my AT&T order. And she has had a 9/19 date since the order.

So it's entirely possible I'm still not getting mine till the 10/13-10/22 date AT&T shows despite having ordered it 90 minutes earlier.

We won't know for sure till apple gives her a tracking # and we see if it's different from the one I see for myself in UPS My Choice.

if they are the same then my apologies for getting anyones hopes up (mine included)

If all goes as planned those with 10/2 delivery dates for iPhone 6+'s should start getting updates today and tomorrow. The corporate stores got there shipment tracking information, and there inventory list this morning, as in AT&T stores receive between 100-1000 via fedex and ups on wednesday and thursday. Some stores already have the 6 regulars sitting in there safes, and back offices. a at&t conference call with district managers also had speculation that the delay for the 6 plus, might of been because apple trying to keep tighter wraps on the 6 plus.

maybe that will put some of you at ease, it didn't help me much cause I'm still here, and i got the information directly from family at at&t.

i don't buy into this... First, there job is customer service and their customer service skills suck! Granted they might have to deal with a lot of angry customers but that's no reason to bring it into to another call. ...and i wonder why customers are angry? Customers are angry because they pay this company their hard earned money, get no information and a ridiculous time frame as they see other companies such as verizon communicating with their customers. Now customers wait on hold for 40+ minutes to get no information.

I can understand why customers take out their frustrations on these people, as a representative of the company. If they're upset over it, it's their company's fault no one else's...

I find it hard to believe these "premiere" customer service reps would accept this level of service while up dinner on the way home at the grocery store, burger king, or subway! ..but we get an attitude for asking where our phone is and asking for communication?

+1

There are also those whose charges disappeared without a charge made later. It sounds like people are looking for patterns that aren't necessarily there. Not surprising, but I think a tracking number or a posted charge are probably the two undeniably positive events.

We'll have to agree to disagree. A) You pay the company a lot of money - NOT the employees, they're likely getting just over minimum wage. B) The company hires people who barely speak English and then gives them carefully scripted comments to respond to inquiries - again, not the employees fault. C) You try doing their job for a few months, taking call after call, complaint after complaint, all while barely making a living, and see how well you do not carrying one call over the next.

Just imagine your job is to defend AT&T and their incompetence and tell me how happy you'd be with your job.

None of this is the employees fault. Not the fact the shipping dates are screwed up, not the fact that they don't know anything more than we know, or the fact that they're merely regurgitating scripted comments.

I understand being frustrated. If taking it out on someone who probably already hates their job and is not given the ability to do what they need to by management (again, not their fault) makes you feel better then that's up to you.

Just got off with AT&T for the second time in two days and got the same info. The shipping estimates are correct. Period. I want to be wrong but I really think they're right. Had the phones shipped for Friday, we would have received tracking numbers. AT&T never gave me the option for expedited shipping so at the very least, it could be some time next week. Oh well, I'll just have to settle for iOS 8 on my iPhone 5.

Look guys, it's a negative nancy! Care for a friendly wager? :p
