Question: can the retail Apple store handle my AT&T upgrade if I'm using the Next program and if I'm a Pemier member? If so, I'm going to see about picking up one in store but I need to know if they can handle my upgrade before I drove an hour to get the phone.

I have no idea what this order is from? I tried to cancel my preorder earlier, but the request was denied as I posted above here.

This first order for 9/20 in the pic was not there until a few hours ago. '

Mine looks identical to that except for the 9/20 part. Could be a random code snafu. If the past week has proven anything, it's that the internet lies to us on a pretty regular basis :) Purely out of spite, no doubt.

Ordered 6+,128, grey; finalized order at 12:01am PST at release. Original ship was 10/something and moved to 10/2 two days ago. Just waiting in limbo with "processing" or "backordered" (on 877 number). I've upgraded EVERY year on release day. I've owned all versions of iPhones. I've ordered from Apple online, waited in lines some years at Apple or AT&T. Last three years I have ordered through Premier. Two years ago I received my tracking number the day AFTER I received my phone! Last year I was in the same place. I did a search at both FedEx & UPS using the reference option and entered my phone number. I found my tracking number before I received it from AT&T that way. This year I am finding nothing when searching by reference. I may not be so lucky this year! I am guessing some will see it tomorrow and it will be a total surprise. Some may have to wait a little longer.

Every year, I get on these forums and read the posts like 10 times per day. That keeps me busy along with learning some of the new features of the new ios on my old phone. When I finally get my new phone, I actually miss the forums and the anticipation. It's like a 5-year-old anxiously waiting for Santa on Christmas Eve!

My wife and I along with 8 of our kiddos have 10 iPhones and pay over $650/month for our plans. Most of the time I'm satisfied with AT&T support but they always seem to disappoint during the peak times!

So...

This morning I upgraded another line on my account at apple.com. Set for in store pick up as the exact phone I ordered from AT&T at 2:45 AM ET on 9/12/14 failed to ship (128GB 6+ Gold). Got an email 30 mins before the apple store opened saying my order was ready. Got there for 10 AM, picked it up, and I am all set now.

This evening at about 6PM I get a Tweet from @ATTBusinessCare asking for my number so they can call me. So I DM them. Got a call from a Muriel.... she was a ball of sunshine to say the least. Told her I wanted my order canceled as I had already gotten the phone I had pre-ordered, no thanks to AT&T. She complied. As miserable as she sounded on the phone she DID acknowledge that there is a problem. She DID acknowledge that orders were shipped NOT on "first come, first serve" as their website had stated. She said that they are aware and they are fixing it and gave me a $25 credit, oh so generous.

I then just now get a DM from her saying the following...
"After speaking with you i was not able to cancel your order. It is in the process of shipping and may deliver as early as Monday."

IT'S BEEN IN THE PROCESS OF SHIPPING SINCE THE AFTERNOON OF 9/12

And after all of this you NOW are able to give me an idea of when I could receive this phone? And it's not even a definite as it MAY deliver as early as Monday.

I explained to her that I am actually leaving town tomorrow for work and won't be back until late next Sunday where I then have that following Monday as my ONLY day home and then I am away for work until the week of Thanksgiving.

She tells me I have 15 days to return the device to sender.

I then ripped her a new one and called my bank to tell them that any and all charges that come through from AT&T are to be treated as fraudulent and declined. I'm going to leave this on my bank account so I can for sure never order a single thing from AT&T.

I'm so over this.

I too ordered 2 6+'s at 3:00am est. a silver 6+ 16gb that just shipped today. And the space grey still stuck on 10/2-10/13

Thanks to everyone for all the updates. Today because a lot of you relayed the message about checking Apple Store inventory, I was able to cancel my order from At&t for a 6+ 128 gb space grey and I got a 6+ 128gb silver in store at apple. I cancelled my pre-order through at&t premier within 5 minutes and was able to use my upgrade through the Apple store website. Some of you may want to try this. I would have never though of this without reading some of the posts in this forum. Instead of having my 6+ in mid October, I have to today.
 
I have never been unpleasant to any service personnel in my entire life. Perhaps my term "raising hell" doesn't mean the same thing to all of you as it does to me. To me, it means to stand up for myself and escalate up the chain of command until my complaints are resolved.

I think a large clue as to how I normally handle things can be seen in my posts. While the person berating me attempted to call me an idiot (and didn't have much success), I, while not putting up with his or her verbal abuse, got my point across. The point being that my unhappiness was due to being told I could not cancel my order, and no other reason.

At any rate, I am sitting here enjoying a new space gray 128gb 6+. While I am a shorter than average female with small hands, I love the size of the phone. For those who are afraid it might be too large, I encourage you to give it a try.

I tried it to at the store I think the size is great i mean I can still hold it with one hand but I have to adjust my hand to use all the functionality but I am a two handed phone user anyways because of my small hands so I don't mind it at all either now I just wish mine would come so I can really play with it lol

Hi guys, just an update. I received my order confirmation for my 128 SG plus at 1:56 am CST on the 12th and as of around 4 pm today my iphone was shipped. I didn't get an email from att premier until around 7 pm today but I had been checking the order status page regularly. I did notice that my phone went from backordered to processing when I called the 877 number today. I should receive my phone this Monday by 3pm and it is delivering from Fort Worth, TX to Arlington, TX, which seems makes it seem silly that they took all this time to ship. Right now I'm just waiting for my mom's 64 Gold plus that I got confirmation for at 2:27 am on the 12th. I hope we can get it the same day otherwise she's going to be playing 2048 on my phone all day!!
 
I just shipped! Thought it would never happen. I ordered 3:45 am eat 9/12. Silver 64g plus. Good luck to everyone still waiting. It won't be long. This my first time on these forums and it really was interesting and helped me get through a anxious few days.
 
ups is what brings the phones over

So UPS brings them all over? To Anchorage? ...and then FedEx gets possession of the AT&T phones and flies them to Memphis for distribution around the country?

I was looking at flight aware a lot when I was going crazy looking for my phone and I'm fascinated by the logistics of this. Is there somewhere I can read up or learn more about this?

Just called the 877 number and I'm still on backorder. Maybe I'll get a little love tomorrow or Monday morning.

I am going to the Apple Store tonight to pick up a case for it. Held a friends Sprint 6 Plus today and boy are those things slippery.
 
I ordered through att premier and got a ship date of 11/1-11/9, and no phone came for launch. After reading some people ordering through apples site for in store pickup I gave it a try. And checked this morning for a 64 gold, and only found one store available. I snatched it up. This was extremely luck of me considering I live in San francisco and the demand for phones are extremely high. Got my confirmation email right away for a in store pickup. Waited 10 min in line and got the same phone I ordered through att. Lesson learned. Going to never order through art again. Going through apple. Good luck guys.
 
Still nothing for me order 6+ 128 space gray
delivery date is 10/02- 10/13
order went through 2:32 am central time but on the bottom of the pdf they sent me the time was 6:32 am. I'm starting to wonder if that is the real time my order went through.

Got shipping confirmation for one, not the other yet. What's INFURIATING is that they shipped the one I ordered at 12:20am on 9/12 and not the one I ordered at 12:05. They really are quite screwed, aren't they?
