It's like this for any awesome tech you have to wait for. Previous iPhone launches were somewhat the same. The wait for the Oculus Rift DK1 and DK2 was just as crazy if not more ridiculous. It's like if you have a good product it will bring people to their knees waiting for it.

True, I'm on the same boat but the Oculus is the first of a revolutionary VR device, not counting those old school VR glasses that don't count.. So I understand the craziness about it.

The iPhone has been out since 2007 and we go nuts over the newer one even if it's just a small change. I would understand the hype if this was the 1st iphone and wouldn't call us all crazy but... :p I mean have you watched the iPhone 1 press conference lately? Steve Jobs is doing scrolling of album art work and the screen is bouncing off the top and people are in awe mode, or even unlocking the screen with a swipe, back then that was unheard of.. I'd be going nuts to get one 1st day.. and I'm going nuts to get it 1st day literally the same thing 7 years later.. Apple has put us all under a spell and Steve Jobs is maniacally laughing right now.. Muhahahah :D
 
If I were a betting man id say be ready to pull your "family members" card come the 19th.

We see any more 19th confirmations in this thread I'm gonna start taking region and states too lol. This is too much. I need sleep but I vow to finish this thread first!

Wish it worked like that, no cooperate non executives are not allowed to take them for themselves let alone family. He's in the pre-order line waiting with us. AT&T has a very strict first come first serve, at&t employees last policy, not worth losing one of the better paying no/low education jobs.
 
Well, whether or not it is true or legal or whatever, it clearly says on your "Thank you for your order" email that the charges will be processed on the date of shipping. Seems pretty clear that whatever the Fair Credit blah blah says or the government or anyone says, AT&T says it will not charge your card until the order ships. Below is what it says

***For preorders, charges will be processed on date of shipping and will include actual, applicable taxes, fees, and surcharges, which may vary from the quoted estimate.

An authorization is not the same actually being charged. It just makes sure you have the funds available. The hold will stay on your card according to your bank/issuers rules. It may "fall off" before the company actually charges you for it. So you may see it disappear and reappear. If your bank holds for 10 days, the authorization will stay on for 10 days or if the "real" transaction is charged to your account the "real" charge will be applied and the hold cancelled.
 
I totally agree. I think the shipping dates are accurate. I hoped and prayed during the iPhone 5 release. But the dates they gave me were correct and I got my 5 about 4 weeks after other people picked theirs up at AT&T in release day.

AT&T would rather sell the phones they have in stock at theirs stores on opening day.

not for me.....my shipping date or tracking number didn't arrive until the day before I got it for my iphone 5 on launch day.....the shipping date I was supplied wasn't even the correct one until the day before when they changed it and sent me the tracking number so your point is moot....
 
I plan on canceling my pre-order if I have no tracking information from UPS My Choice by Thursday afternoon and just waiting it out. Thankfully, the AT&T in my area is pretty low-key so I've been first in line for the 5 and the 5s and I plan on setting up camp even earlier this year. My fear is that because it's such a small store, they will have absolutely no 6 pluses and I will have wasted my time and lost my place in line for the pre-order. I know it's truly all about money and marketing, but its upsetting that a company/companies would take it so far as to screw over loyal customers.
 
After lurking around multiple forums, I think 6+ 128 GB have order number starting from 1011 and goes from there as 1012, 1013... Like the gentleman above have 1016.. I ordered right around 3:00 EST.. May be a few minutes before that.. I am in 1012 bucket..

If your order number is in different range, please let me know.. It would be really helpful if you could list first 4 digit of your order number as well..

I ordered a silver 128GB 6 + and received a confirmation email at 2:04 AM CST and the first four digits of my order are 1012. My shipping date still shows (just checked) 10/13 - 10/22.

Well they the taxes I paid for NEXT were pending in my account but then disappeared figured it went through but can't find it anywhere. Called ATT to find out if my order is still good, they said yes and won't charge my tax until it's shipped to me with my 10/31-11/11 ship date :( kinda makes me sad

Hmmm... I have the same shipping date but my tax charges are still there.
 
Ordered my 6+ 64GB SG at 2:50am EST. First email was received at 2:58am EST and the second email arrived at 5:45am. Status is still showing up as Preparing to ship with a estimated date of 10/13 - 10/22. Called the number on the forum for order status and it is stating it is on backorder. Spoke to 2 reps via the live chat with 2 different answers. The first told me the dates on the order are accurate and the other told me that my shipment has been sent to the warehouse and is awaiting a shipping label.

I'm pretty sure none of the reps can be trusted; no one really knows what's going on.
 
just got off phone with premier customer support...she told me that my order has already been completed and ready to ship even though my EST is 10-13/10-22...it's an 6+ Space Gray 128 GB ordered 3:31 am 09/12...she told me that i would have my phone friday....so that's something i guess....also i see no info on the UPS tracker

Yea I am one. Is that good enough to do an upgrade then? I know I can't add or remove lines. Anything else I've tried (thus far) I've just had to provide her ssn

Yea I mean in store. Sorry if I didn't list that. My intention is to wait in line at the local if their is no indication of mine coming. That being said I don't want to do it only to reach the counter for a middle finger :p

I got the same info from premier today. Also have the same ship date. I'm pretty sure it's legit.
 
So I just called the AT&T Premier CS, and when I go to check my order status it says that my preorder is processing and it'll be done in one business day. I mean that is in line with what everyone is saying that everything will clear up closer to launch. I have never been given a solid date for the shipping of my date, its always just said pending confirmation.
 
Let's compare this if you don't mind. I'm premiere but my art order number is 1114 after the hyphen. I had to cancel my apple order and order from att at 3:00 pm. So why are our numbers the same? My shipping date is 11/27

I know I ordered later in the day as well. Not as late as you though :p. Reasonable to think we would be part of the same batch then. Even on a per store level, batches can be thousands of phones. Not to mention the vast vast majority of pre orders were the first hour or two. After that it appeAred to drop off by as much as 400%

Until someone in the know speaks up - or finds it in one of the (silly) simultaneous threads we have going on here, I can only speculate.
 
I have a feeling we are screwed.

There should have been more updates up to this point, i still am sitting with a 10/13 - 10/21 date and ordered at 3:15am EST.

Will be cancelling Thursday afternoon if no shipping confirmation is given.
