They should never have a need to ask you for your password to access your account. I'd changed it.

Yeah, that's actually a third authentication element that they set up for me because of an ID theft issue (not my "password" per se), but I changed it anyhow.
 
How can AT&T support reps have NO idea whats going on as of 3 days prior to launch. That's insane.

Notice how u tend to get competent support when it comes from properly paid American employees? ****in outsourcing drives me NUTS. Yet we Are all to tied to our wireless/broadband to "vote" with our money.

I may have a pretty big problem. The card I put my order on was shut down do to fraudulent activity and I cannot figure out how to put a new one on there before they cancel my order

You mean to tell me this isn't normal for you guys? 90% of the time if I am calling any place for anything tech related or electronic, the support is foreign. It's atrocious and predictable.

You may have a problem, for the 5 i feel like i had to change my card and that reset my spot in the queue...i was then waiting in line for the phone
 
I lol'd after reading this. This definitely sounds like they're just screwing with us, at least in this message.

I may try and call them when I get off work today, but I'm not crossing my fingers that anything will come of it. When I chatted online with a rep, they said that my 10/2-10/13 order will **** in "14-21 business days". Why would they calculate "business days" as the number of days in a week (multiples of 7). Anyway, I guess I just want to hear a rep say my order will be here on Friday....


This crossed my mind too. Do they not understand what business days means? Cause id it's 14-21 business days it isn't 2-3 weeks it's. 3-4. Sigh.

Have u never called att? It's the PIN for authorizing yourself essentially. He just wrote password for some reason.
 
Ah, I don't know that I've ever called them, so I stand corrected if that is the case. Usually, it's a bad idea to give out passwords.

In my case, my passcode is totally different from my password. I only have to use a passcode when calling the automated system or speaking with a CSR.

So you may be right in that the CSR should have only asked for passcode vs passcode/password.
 
My only question is that the agents aren't verifying much information when they give better than expected ship times.

Not saying we won't get our devices on the 19th - but I would think they would need to verify more information with the folks chatting with them before telling them their device would arrive on the 19th.

Seems odd.

Also seems to correlate with common sense no? I mean if you order the first day a product goes on sale, would you not expect to get one? Had I pre ordered on Wednesday I wouldn't be so optimistic but within the first day (as she cited) it should be all but a given.

it's just rediculous especially when you ask them "hey have you seen a shipment with an earlier ship date" and the response is "no" apple isn't even shipping them, they are bottle necking from manufacturing.

I think my data plan will expire just by scanning through all these forums..

Btw no update yet.. No UPS or Fedex.. Dates are rock solid at 10/13-10/22.. iPhone 6 plus 128GB..

I wonder what database Gilbert looked at, and why that database isn't being used on the website for accurate shipping times.

Thats great, hope it's true for you. Just one question, does your credit card bank show the charges as pending or fully charged on your account?

It did show two pending charges of 439 for each of the two phones, but this morning they were removed as many were. Not sure what that means, but we will see. Wont truly believe it until i get the shipping tracking number, or the phone in my hand on friday.

What blows my mind /blown is that your still saying this after several now have a date of the 19th even while their date on their site sAys something craZy. Hang it up. Wroooooooong bet this time.

I guess we will know on Friday.

6's will be delivered, but i'm not convinced about any 6+...

More along the lines of apple projecting to sell 80m of these this year and not being able to field 5% of that number for launch apparently. (4m pre orders and that's between BOTH models)

Pretty bad statistics! The issue seems to be with AT&T's supply of 6+'s... Why would Verizon have a good stock to send out for launch day and not AT&T?

There's a part of me that believes Apple made very little +'s because this was going to their "see, we told you" phone." See, we told you iphone customers aren't interested in a 5.5" screen.. Unfortunately, it was massively popular...

i have a question unrelated to anything, not looking for a pattern

but did everybodies upgrade or contract change already? mine said my contract is up two years from now so they used my upgrade. just thought it would be funny if your upgrade is already used but you wont get the phone for another month or two.
