I got my 5 and my 5s through Apple, I think perhaps even the 4s, but I do remember getting one iPhone through AT&T (and swearing never to do it again) where I didn't know until launch day if I would get it or not, and sure enough it showed up. No tracking #, no email, no status change until the day AFTER launch. I'm not saying that will happen here, I don't dare to hope that much. Just with AT&T, you never know. I do know next year I'll keep refreshing until Apple's site or app allows me to order.

I ordered my 5 from AT&T and it went smoothly from start to finish. That said, after this years' debacle and lack of information, I will not order from AT&T again.
 
FWIW I just spoke with Premier support since I ended up with two orders at 3am EST on the 12th due to being paranoid about my first attempt not going through and needed to cancel one.

Anyway, after cleaning up that mess he told my phone was ready to be shipped and I should have it this Friday.

My status has always said shipping10/13 - 10/22 and I had a pending CC charge that fell off today. I also don't currently have anything showing up on My UPS.
 
Just got done talking with my Fed Ex guy. This is what he had to say...this is why tracking numbers are being deleyed..

"All our shipments from China were put on hold until FedEx gets all the iPhones out. And yes, that is a problem, as there is no way to get the shipping info from Apple. Could you imagine the CS nightmare if they released the tracking #’s before they shipped? "
 
Well the cancel button is gone on my orders status screen. Might be a good sign.

I have the same thing, no more blue cancel preorder button on the premier site. i think it makes sense since a phone has been married to your account, and might be to far along the order process to cancel. hoping thats the case.

BTW i ordered late 8am pst on the 12th and ordered a 6+ Gold 64gb with a ship date of 11/11-11/27

Athina : They usually send out a tracking number once the order is about to be shipped in a confirmation email.

I ordered 6+ 128 Gold on AT&T about 12:30 PT. Then I ordered through the Apple Store app using the same AT&T upgrade and it went through. It's available for pick up 9/19. Some days later, AT&T cancelled my order because I wasn't eligible. They could've asked if I wanted it full price. Orders from Apple go through immediately. AT&T takes the order and processes it later.

He also said this... See we are asking the wrong CS reps. We should be asking UPS and Fedex since they are the shippers..

". I believe that when they have released the phones/pads to FedEx in the past it’s on the condition they deliver to Apple stores at the same time around the country. So no one gets first. Pretty crazy logistics!"

Sounds like you got great news...Of course they don't have a direct line to get back intouch with them. Cause if the info they gave you was wrong you could never talk to them again...lol..

That wasn't my chat conversation. I was commenting on that conversation wishing I could have a similar experience.
 
You know with all this chats we are seeing and people getting discouraged and thinking about showing up Thursday night in line in front of a local Apple Store, that would mean that their online order will be cancelled and maybe move some of us up faster in the online shipping phase, wouldn't one think????

128GB SG ordered at 12:45AM Pacific (did't get confirmation email until 4:44AM)
Same thing happened to me a few hours ago. After waiting on the line for a LONG time I spoke with a rep who definitely had an accent from premier support. He told me what I already knew about my estimated shipping date range (10-13 to 10-22). I asked him a specific question about the status though. "Does the status 'Preorder Processing' actually mean that they physically have my device in the shipping department?"

"Yes sir, it does."

"Are you sure of this?"

"Yes sir."

I had him put a note on the order saying that I would call back Thursday to check status and that if it wasn't shipped I'd like to cancel so I can go toe the Apple Store Friday. Very frustrating AT&T doesn't have a better way to estimate this, or at least have clear statuses such as "Packaging product for shipment"...

New member here.....this gives me absolute hope! I ordered a ip6+ 64GB SG around 2:05am CST and I live in Houston TX, 77070! So if we are one digit off in zipcodes than mine better be on it's way! My current status shows 10/13-10/22 so if i'm getting an earlier date than you and you've somewhat been confirmed you have yours coming, this is just something more positive for me to anticipate a friday delivery!
