Pre-Ordered on the 12th about 3am EST for 6+ 128gb SG Premier.
Been watching this thread since shortly after it began. Registered today because for the first time, I have something useful to share.
For those of you who have had any kind of a negative experience beyond the basic wait (been lied to or given false information by a CSR, hung up on by the automated system or a CSR after spending huge amounts of time on hold, had initial billing issues as a result of their charge causing a fraud alert, spent an hour or six on hold trying to get anything resolved) looking to get your $40 charge waived, the number to call is 1-800-331-0500.
I tried the online chat where the person swore up and down with me that there was no way to remove the charge. They said the only way the charge can be refunded is if the order is canceled or the phone was never received. I had a pretty good feeling it could be because of what other people have said here so I stated that since they couldn't or wouldn't remove it, who could I contact to get the charge removed and they told me to call that number. I called, stated that I needed to know if they could refund the $40 fee or if I needed to speak with someone in retention and they initially stated the whole thing about how it is a standard charge that comes with the upgraded lines, etc... I stated my case (everything above including the 6 hour wait - was calm the whole time then and just now) and they immediately refunded me, reminded me that the charge was normally valid but that they were going to waive it because of my poor upgrade experience and because they wanted to keep me as a client and while still on the phone, I received a text alert from them about the adjustment to my bill.
I'm a reasonable person. I know they were overwhelmed on day one during pre-order but seeing other people who ordered after me getting the exact same model before me pushed me over the edge after everything I had already dealt with. For me, just like anyone else, the $40 won't replace not having your phone yet but at least it's something. If you do decide to call, be polite but firm and state it as matter of fact that they need to remove the charge (like it doesn't even make sense to you that they put it on there in the first place, given the circumstances) and they will remove it.
Good luck an I hope we all get our phones, soon!
