I usually haven't been calling the 877 number, but I check online daily. This morning I decided to call and the order couldn't be found. I went to CSR menu and they were able to find my order and advised me not to check until my expected ship date because delivery earlier was unlikely.

Well, Just now I went through my addictive 3pm routine to check online and I now have tracking info, to be delivered by Friday! Silver 128!

Time to dust off the case in ready for it's arrival. I almost want to throw a party for it. Asked my wife if she would bake a coconut cake. She gave me a weird look and reminded me I have issues :)

I still say crap for anyone that ordered before me and is waiting. It just seems like a pre-order should never take more than a couple of weeks at the latest. Something so exciting can really mess with your nerves during these long waits.

Can i place a order with apple at full price, keep my att order? With out having to keep both phones? And if i get the apple one first at full price then cancel att will apple refund the difference? Maybe ill get the att one first, ahhhh ha ha ha

My hopes began on 9/12 at 8:47 AM EDT, when I ordered the HDTV in your pocket 128GB SG 6+. I excitedly ordered a case and screen protector, which were not due in until October 1. I foolishly thought I would receive my phone prior to October 1 and I would be left with a phone in its birthday suit, unprotected to the harsh realities of the world.

On/around 1 October I chatted the AT&T CSRs and verified the ship dates of 10/13-10/22 were valid, as I was peering into the Apple site and thinking about just ordering from them.

On Friday October 17 I again chatted the CSR to ask what are the odds my phone will ship before next Wednesday, 22 October. The CSR reiterated it WILL ship by 10/22.

On 10/22 at 12:21 PM EDT, I am officially on backorder (877 and .com) with no ship date in sight.

Not sure who to direct my anger at. AT&T, Apple, the dog? :mad:

It only gets better...

10/22 at 4:21 EDT called AT&T to get an updated expected ship window and I was given the following and I kid you not.

"Your order will ship in 28 to 35 business days".

I replied: "but I preordered on 9/12/14"

To which she replied: "I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused"

To which I replied: "This is not an inconvenience, this is just poor customer service. If I ordered today, how long would it take to ship?"

To which she replied: "28 to 35 business days".

I replied: "How is that even possible? How can I order on 9/12 and then be put in the same priority as someone who ordered today? That does not even make sense."

To which she replied: "I know. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused".

I was disgusted at that point. I waited 15 minutes to cool off and called back.

The second CSR I spoke to was infinitely more helpful. She drilled down on the order, identified I ordered it on 9/12, identified I had already waited the 3-4 weeks based on the original guidance, but said the system had no indication of when the phones would ship and that they were on backorder. She said without a date, it could ship anytime, it really just depends on the supply and number of backorders. She advised to keep the order active, but check the local stores for stock, if I find it before the phone is shipped, then cancel the preorder after buying the new phone. While none of this was new information, at least she was trying to be helpful.

Again, not sure who to blame. Apple? AT&T? Both? Steve Jobs?

I ordered mine on 9/30 (6+ gold 128G) with a ship time of 11/7 to 11/18. I've been checking with no movement. I've also been checking the Apple stores but as soon as I find one, they are gone just like that. Congrats to the people who can actually buy one in the stores because in Atlanta, you would have better luck in finding a unicorn.

I have the same issue. Try by your order number instead of phone number. In confirmation email they might gave you a number (only number) to enter after dialing 877#.

Well, glad to know someone is having the same problem at least. (Well, not glad you're having the problem...you know what I mean!) :p

Problem is my order # includes letters, which I don't even know what's up with that.

EDIT; Ah! I just went back and looked at the email, and indeed as you said, they gave me a # to enter other than my Order #, and that worked. Computer woman said the order was on backorder...not sure if I wanted to know that or not. :p Thanks any way!
 
So let me ask this...

The reason I ordered with AT&T is because I would get $200 for my 4S. They SAID that I would still be able to get that, even if my phone ships after the promotion stops.

Do you think they will still honor it?

Is anyone else planning on doing this, or has done it??

yes and the email states purchase/ order before sept 30th. you just have to show your receipt.

So, I made a joke earlier about the phones not arriving until we are married 20 years. Seeing as I have recently become engaged, I have started my wait process. However, I digress.

We walked into an AT$T (the & was replaced on purpose) store and purchased our phones on 9/20 (each a SG 6+ 128GB). We added a new line for her onto my account along with her new phone. Being the loving fiancé she decided to cover the tax charges since I put off standing in line on the opening day and I changed from my unlimited data plan to our new family shared NEXT plan adding in her MiFi and setting up our data to 15GB.

Since then, there has been an issue with the order status, such that the only way for me to see the status was by not logging into the AT$T site and the entering our order number. Even the devil lady at the 877 number wouldn't give us anything other than our order could not be found. I called several times and they told me that everything would be fine and that I should check in the only successful way that was working. Well, each time I checked, it stated preparing for shipping with a ship date for each phone of 10/29 - 11/07.

Well, I have been patiently waiting for the phones and checking them daily, sometimes more so. I have been getting excited that the dates were approaching.

This morning I open up my inbox to see an e-mail from AT$T order status and get excited that they must be shipping! Yay!

When I opened the message, it stated that our order was cancelled! :mad:

Long story short, after talking with a rep he told me that we would have to reorder and he didn't know why it failed and that he had several other orders fail today. He then told me that he would give us a credit for an express shipment fee which would make it so that we would receive the phones when we were originally supposed to get them. Then, there was the issue of the loss of my fiancé’s new line that was added to my account.

I was told that I needed to speak with someone else about the line. So, I was forwarded to a different sales group. I spoke to a woman here.

She told me that she figured out exactly why our order was cancelled. She stated that it was due to the initial tax charge (that was completed long ago) being on a card that had a different billing address than that of the account and that the shipping address was also not my billing address (have to have things shipped to work due to my apartment complex not accepting packages). So, being as I have not budgeted for the new expense (although I have already paid the new plan charges), I was not in a situation where I could afford to pay the tax again since this new order was not going to use the previous payment and she insisted that it had to be from a card using my billing address.

I asked if I could go into an Apple store and get the phones (when they are available) and set them up with my plan since I am eligible for the upgrade as checked with the earlier person. She stated that I should go back to the AT$T store and speak with the manager to get something worked out, but that if I decided to go to the Apple store, that it should work where we would get to get our phones.

Do any of you see any potential issues with doing that? The main one I see is the loss of the number we got for my fiancé. Is it possible that they will not allow me to upgrade using the NEXT plan that I now have in place despite being eligible?

Any advice would be welcomed.

This frightens me. I also an having my phone shipped to my office. If they screw this up, I will be very pissed.

I completely understand. I am very frusterated. Even the woman I spoke with at AT$T stated that she was shocked that it took this long to let us know that the order was canceled. I am hoping that I can get the phones soon by using istocknow.com.

i would not worry about it as the rep was wrong. I ordered a phone for my mom and had it shipped in her name and address. I am in florida and so is my account and card used etc. it was shipped to wisconsin. not one problem at all. the rep was just saying it as a cause for something to say. I worked in a call center and a lot of times we never got to see why something happened.

it is just the same as ordering anything else you have billing address of the card compared to your home address. then you have a shipping address which can be different then your billing address. there is a good chance however someone could have typed say the zipcode in wrong something like that. Also when i was checking on my moms phones shipment i had to use her zip code because that is where it was being shipped.

Not before. They wanted to charge for a new order. They canceled it prior to my calling.
 
This is ridiculous all mine say is perpetrating to ship and nothing has changed since 9/15

I have decided if they do not have my phone to me by 10/29 or at least shipped it I am getting a nexus 6

I've mentioned before that I am converting from android and this would be my first iphone. I'm starting to wonder if I made a huge mistake.
