Also, when I logged onto the ATT site to check on my iPhone, the Item Status went from Pending to Preparing to Ship.
Anyone who feels the need to add in the "if you don't believe me..." line is suspect in my eyes. I just ignore and move on.

Just returned from Costco. He said to get in line outside the store prior to opening (obviously) and tickets would be handed out. He also said he expected no more than 20 "units". And he didn't expect a long line.

sounds about right. my local att store said they are getting about 50 at most (its the big att store in the area also)
they had about 30 when the 5 released. short line as well.
hopefully overnight and early deliverynever know
Apple mandates the carrier hold the phone until the official release date.
Keep in mind that these numbers are split between 6 different models. (3 versions of each) So they might have a dozen white 16gb 6, but no white 128gb 6+.

Got the email this morning at 3am which basically said nothing

Same thing just happened to me, my cancel button disappeared from premier. Although, I didn't get any email this morning. But I guess not being able to cancel is a good thing, might mean that it's about to ship.
I posted earlier but I'll recap with an unfortunate update on my end:
I purchased a 128 GB, Space Gray, iPhone 6 at 4:09 AM on Fri on the ATT site. At about 10 AM I got a confirmation email finally indicating my phone would arrive "on or around 9/19" and that it's been reserved. Since my purchase, however, I'e had only a $1 on my card and my order status on ATT's site keeps saying "pending confirmation" for the ship date. Given that this was different from what others on here were saying I was worried that there may been an issue with my order going thru. I then found out about the UPS trick to find tracking and I got excited last night when I found some info on a package that I would be getting today, but it turned out that was the case I ordered from apple's site. :-(
So today, I talked to my credit card company to see if there was any issue with the my order on their end and they said that everything was fine and that the $1 hold indicated that. The rep suspected that once the phone shipped I would be charged in full. Still then (I probably stupidly) called ATT and got a rep on the line finally who told me that on his end there was an issue with my order and he resubmitted it to my card and I was then charged in full. He implied this may have set me back in the "queue" for the phone and I got pissed, especially because I gave him no new info about my card and if there was truly some issue why had no one contacted me? I had to reach out to them. He then backtracked and said to await a confirmation email on shipping.
Now I checked my order status and I have the dreaded 10/15-11/4 ship time. If this is accurate I'm going to be royally pissed. I might cancel the purchase and finally bounce from ATT to Verizon (which may actually be better for me, for work purposes anyways - screw the unlimited data) just for the sheer principle of this atrocious customer service.

Yup, my cancel button just disappeared in the past hour.
The Cancel button was on wireless.att.com, we came to this order status page from the link in the very first email that acknowledged the order and had a web order number beginning in 1018....
My order number starts with 1016 and mine just disappeared as well.
