I would have rather ordered it direct from Apple but I am loathed to cancel with AT&T and wait for my upgrade eligibility to reset.
It is what it is....
I waited 4 years to get an iPhone with a big screen so what's a few extra days.
I'm sure there are a ton of people working very hard to get those orders out ASAP as we speak.....
Hi, I ordered the iPhone 6 space grey 64gb thru AT&T website once pre ordering became available. I was curious to know how I can check to see that my iphone is off backorder.
http://www.att.com/wirelessorderstatus I used this website and it doesn't tell me if the phone is off backorder or not.
someone please help, I just want to know which website I can check to see if my phone is off backorder.
Spoke to a rep at an AT&T store today, she said that the AT&T stores will only get however many iPhones they get for launch day and the rest will be going out to fulfill pre-orders (in-store and online). Passed that, it may be a month or so before they get any more in-store (based on past iPhone releases).
So it sounds like outside of in-store inventory, AT&T will be pushing out pre-order iPhones before replenishing their stores.
This is just BS. I ordered between 1210am pacific time/310am eastern time and 1220am/320am on att.com
Originally it said ships between 14-21 days business.
Now I check order status and it says will 10/31-11/11 shipping. That's closer to 30-40 business days.
iPhone 6 plus 64gb gold.
What even more BS is I ordered 64gb iPhone 6 plus at 345am eastern time/1245am pacific time from ipad apple store app for my wife and hers will deliver by September 19th.
I was told by AT&T. (and who knows if any of these reps have a clue) that the queue we are all in is based on when THE CREDIT CARD WAS PROCESSED, NOT WHEN WE PLACED THE ORDER.
For me it explains why I have an earlier shipment date than my friend when though he orders at 12.11 and I ordered at 12.45 AM LA time.

I'm not so sure about that. I would assume at the time of placing the order your CC was charged like all other internet commerce.
No it was for silver for my wife. Honestly. Any color 64gb was available with ipad apple store app at 1245am pacific/345am eastern time.
I thought they would NOT charge until the phone shipped? I've been charged $541 already but my date is not until October 2-13.![]()

If true that's amazingly (and insultingly) bad.
I wouldn't expect that to be the case for preorders.
At any rate, the ATT website did specify that the card wouldn't be charged until shipment.
You should be able to cancel.. they have plenty of customers who need the phone other than someone rejecting shipment. I'd call and find out. I have a link to cancel preorder when I log in and check the status. Do you have a confirmation email?
Yup. You've got it right. My CC didn't get processed due to a billing address error (didn't match my address with AT&T service) and I called back today and was given a November 9-27 est ship date. I initially had the early October date. Pretty disappointed but oh well. Ordered a second pair of phones through Apple today with my upgrade eligibility still working there (Order is "processing" with estimate ship date 3-4 weeks).I was told by AT&T. Sometimes they will charge the full amount to guarantee funds and the charge will then fall off only to be reinstated once it ships. Other times just a $1 charge will show up.
Just checking in to follow along. At least refreshing this page instead of the order status page gives new info each time.
My 64 gig 6 and my 64 gig 6+ are both "preparing for shipment" from AT&T, even though the 6+ has an estimated ship date for next month. We'll see.
The larger, phablet-like version of the rumored iPhone 6 is facing production problems serious enough to delay its arrival till 2015 or to limit initial availability, a high-profile Apple analyst claims.
