I've been lurking here the past couple of days, and I thought I would share my experience in exchange for all of the hope and comfort this thread has provided.
I ordered my iPhone 6 64gb (Space Gray) online a little before 9am PST on 9/12 (I was online at midnight, but I was not eligible for an upgrade... turns out my bill was ONE DAY past due).
My order status on both the regular and Premier pages has given a shipping date of 10/13 - 10/31 ever since, with absolutely no changes. There was a hold for the upgrade price of the phone on my debit card until this morning, when it dropped off.
Just a few minutes ago I received a notification via UPS MyChoice that there is a shipment scheduled from AT&T on Friday! Both AT&T order statuses still give no indication of shipment... and both still give a shipping date of 10/13 - 10/31. For what it's worth, I'm in Los Angeles and my order is shipping from Memphis.
Don't give up hope! I'd all but thrown the towel in, and was preparing to go into the local AT&T store on Friday morning to see about getting my hands on one and canceling my online order. But if all goes well, I should have my pre-order in hand on Friday after all.
