AT&T Pre-order status

I've been lurking here the past couple of days, and I thought I would share my experience in exchange for all of the hope and comfort this thread has provided. ;)

I ordered my iPhone 6 64gb (Space Gray) online a little before 9am PST on 9/12 (I was online at midnight, but I was not eligible for an upgrade... turns out my bill was ONE DAY past due).

My order status on both the regular and Premier pages has given a shipping date of 10/13 - 10/31 ever since, with absolutely no changes. There was a hold for the upgrade price of the phone on my debit card until this morning, when it dropped off.

Just a few minutes ago I received a notification via UPS MyChoice that there is a shipment scheduled from AT&T on Friday! Both AT&T order statuses still give no indication of shipment... and both still give a shipping date of 10/13 - 10/31. For what it's worth, I'm in Los Angeles and my order is shipping from Memphis.

Don't give up hope! I'd all but thrown the towel in, and was preparing to go into the local AT&T store on Friday morning to see about getting my hands on one and canceling my online order. But if all goes well, I should have my pre-order in hand on Friday after all.

This is the news I wanted to hear. Sucks that I can't check UPS My choice Bc I am getting it shipped to work. Hopefully I will be seeing that IPhone on Friday..
 
I saw the 6+ on the NBC evening news and its big. Too big for my girly-boy hands.:eek: But would work for a snowboard if I lived 1200 miles north.
I am glad they are making phones for everyone,finally. Can you imagine if they didn't make the 6+,what the demand would have been for the 6. Yikes!

The 6 has terrible specs. 780P, no OIS, and terrible battery life.

Your good to go. I have the same situation here. Ordered 64GB silver and 16GB gold. Got a UPS my choice notification on Sunday night with tracking number for delivery on 9/19. Got a text from AT&T a while ago with a FedEx tracking number. So I'm getting a visit from both UPS and FedEx on Friday!!!

Actually, can the human eye even see the difference at that res on a 4.7in screen? I mean sure it would sound good on a spec sheet, "1080p at 4.7in!", and sure I'd much rather have 1080 over 720, but is it actually noticeable? My S5 active has 1080 and IMO doesn't look any better per sq in than my 5s. I guess perhaps it depends on how close you hold it to your face? Like having a 4k tv, worthless extra pixels unless you're sitting less than 6ft away from a 60" display. How does that correlation figure in with a 4.7in phone?

Youu answered your own question. It can't, 1080p (and 4k for that) on a phone is marketing along with HD retina vs retina.

The screen PPI on the 6 are identical to the 5S.

Battery life? Re/Code's Mossberg got 14-15 hours. New York Times' Molly Wood got nearly two days. The Verge's Nilay Patel got a full day and a half.

Spare us the hyperbole, troll.
 
After talking to 4-5 ATT reps today( and trying the whole Ooga booga thing - mentally)........ If you have 10/02 to 10/13, at this point in time, I truly believe it will ship on 10/02. Believe me. I'm bummed.

The clock has been ticking, and nothing has changed for me. I've thrown in the towel.


Ordered iPhone 6plus 64g, ordered 3:10am Edt. Premier sites and regular ATT sites with multiple ph nos.

Yes..... I became THAT guy. The one I hate!
 
Is Apple an option if you cancel now?

Sorry, had to get that off my chest. And no, my ship date hasn't moved up from the twelfth of never. But I did get to stay on hold for 20 minutes before the nice young lady informed me that she had to transfer me to another 20 minute hold where they'll do nothing for me.

On the upside, I discovered a new game. Every 15-25 seconds when the recording says "your call is very important to us", I'd come up with something like "all evidence to the contrary" or "of course it is"... different each time. Really helps keep the mind fresh.

Yeah my question was a bit rhetorical. Just wanted others to think about it. It all comes down to distance and viewing angle from your eye to the display as to whether those extra pixels are even noticed. I believe fine art is re-printed somewhere around 300ppi, so perhaps a benchmark to a 'fine' display. ;)

Identical to the 5s is good? I can get a day and half out of my 5s.Your the troll with your cherry picking stats. It doesn't have OIS, yet has the hump, the battery life is under industry standard, and its 780p. Its outdated before it is released.

Hang in there. My order and dates are/were identical to yours. I ordered mine four minutes before you and received a tracking number a couple hours ago. Yours is probably already on it's way as well. (The originating FedEx scan for mine was Monday at 2 PM). Silence from all sources until I checked my order status this afternoon with att.
 
Well everyone I have my tracking info on UPS My Choice! My 6 64Gb SG will be here friday between 10am - 2pm!

I placed my order on 9/12 7:15 am PST. It was Premier!

To those that are still waiting, be patient and stay positive! You will get yours!!

Edit: MyAT&T Status page still says prepping for shipping with an estimated ship date of 9/23/2014 - 10/2/2014.

What is this UPS my choice? Mine is being shipped through FedEx and we ordered through AT&T. Is that a way I can check on my husband's phone?

Those battery life the experts claim are not indicative of real time macrumors users.

They don't touch their phones 10 times every 20 minutes like we do. They don't go facebooking like my wife does.

So real time battery use is closer to around 8 hours of real use. Maybe 3 hours standbys. So 11 hours total for day. Assuming u take it off charger at 6am. Means phone will be out of battery at 5pm real time.
 
Does anyone have a Fedex tracking number on their att page order page but when you click on it to go to track it the Fedex site says no info for that tracking number?

Are you taking about the camera sticking out? That is on the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.

why the hell did i order online in the early hours to NOT get my phone.....
