I'm not confident enough in that theory to try it myself though. :p Even to bluff because I don't trust AT&T to not put it through anyway.

if they say the Golds are shipping today mine should as well, but i think they are doing all the Premiere members first

Dang. Last year the SG was most available at Best Buy for the 5s so when I found one at store they let me cancel my gold preorder for it. So thinking I was smart I did the SG 128 6+ and here I am in 10/2-10/13 limbo....
 
You'd be surprised. I was waiting outside in line for 90 mins for them to come out after and say sorry we only had 3+'s.

Yup. We waited last year from 3AM, hundreds of people got there by 8 AM. They only got 1 Gold iPhone 5s, and a lot of people were there for that particular flavor. They don't care.
 
Just got an ema from ATT!!!!!

Oh wait. It says my bill is ready to view with a 40 activation fee on it.

I hate ATT.

Anyone have any good news for me?Im still seeing an estimated ship date of 10/13-10/22 for a gold 6 plus 64gb.Ordered it on launch day at around 3:30 am when at&t's site let me in.Im seeing some people say they got a shipping email today.Hoping i get mine soon :(
 
Here is my entry into this madness....

Tried to pre-order online on the 12th at 2:00am central time, but after having all sorts of issues with the websites said screw it, I'll go into the AT&T store in the morning. Got up early and got to the store @ around 8:30 (they open at 9)there was about a 5-10 people line total, I was 5th in line, by the time they got to me it was around 9:45 am. Went ahead and ordered a 6+ 128 silver with Next for my number, no issues, tried to do the same on my wife's number and no dice, my card was being rejected.... (stupid $1 transactions, had to call AMEX to allow the charges) card issue fixed, ordered my wife's same iPhone as me (6+ 128 silver). Got all my paperwork and receipts and I ask the guy that was helping me when I could expect to get the phones and he said "Next week! on the 19th here at the store" (I had both phones shipped to the store, I've had packages go missing when they are left on my porch).... so I leave happy only to check my email later and see that my shipping date is 10/31-11/11!!! Two ****** months! that date has not changed at all btw.... I've been logging on like a madman hoping to see any change there.... and now even the charges have dropped off from my credit card.

Tried going to the store on the 19th and after waiting two hours they come out and tell us they are going to open the doors at which time the question was asked "how many 6+ did you get in?" and they said they couldn't tell us (BS) and they say that only 1 phone per customer (more BS) where I say well ****... even if they have it, I don't get it (I would give it to the wife... happy wife, happy life)... after another hour of people going in and out (about 10 customers) they announce that they have completely sold out of the 6+. oh and I get a discount from my employer so I guess that makes me a "Premier" customer as well.

In summary:

Ordered at AT&T store on 9/12 at around 9:55 am
2 iPhones 6+ 128 Silver both on Next
Shipping Date: 10/31-11/11
Two pre-authorizations of $78.34 (taxes) that have since dropped off
No changes as of this morning (9/22)

That's crazy; I ordered ours on the 12th - and had to cancel due to AT&T REALLY messing up our account. Reordered on 9/20/2014 - and have ship date of 10/29.

However, we will cancel the orders. My local AT&T store agreed that the next shipment of 6+'s they will put the very first two aside for us (which should be today) - and let us come pick them up.

If I order a silver 64gb + today, am I looking at a Christmas delivery do you think? LOL. Maybe by Thanksgiving?! I know no one knows for sure, but what's your best guess?

Order from Apple and you *should* have it in 3-4 weeks, no telling from AT&T.

When I ordered 2 days ago, I got end of October.
 
You can do it either way! I happened to restore mine first, but either way works just fine. After you do the AT&T activation, you may need to power down the phone completely and restart it before it hears incoming calls; after I did that, everything was smooth as silk.

Last Friday it took about 10 minutes for the activation screen to go away and switch to the "completed" screen, and that was at the height of the first-day madness. It should be faster now.

Also, when activating, make damn sure the IMEI & ICCID numbers you enter are accurate. They're on the back of your box; use a magnifying glass (!) and triple-check what you type to be sure!

Ummmm! Are you a premier customer? And where are you located? I order the same configuration but I placed my order at 3:36am....2nd email confirmation at 5:28am...and still nothing! BTW-I am non premier!

Yep – I was in the same situation, as my phones had always been activated in the Apple store.

I know it works both ways, because when you get to the "completed" screen after the AT&T activation, it says that you can go ahead and restore your new phone from the backup. Mine had already been restored, and everything worked just fine.

Also, one thing that really helped – and I had never done before – was when you make your final backup in iTunes of your old (current) phone, be sure to check on the "Encrypt Backup" box before you start the backup. That way, all your passwords will be transferred automatically, and it will spare you a huge hassle getting your mail, twitter, etc. all up and running.

This may be old news to the rest of you, but it was new to me, and a big help.

Not old news to me did not know how to get the passwords all transfered. That is nice! Will give it a try. When I see my phone given it is a SG 128 Plus which sounds like what most people tried to order and is short....

In a few weeks these constraints will start easing up. Relax and let it roll. I had to order mine from ATT direct(6+ Gold 64Gig), and I have been told Nov 9-Nov 27. I am not worried, I will get the phone eventually and if you order it you will too.

That's awesome! I ordered September 17 and have an estimated ship date of 10/16 - 11/5.

I'm glad they are doing that for you, but I wouldn't cancel until they have them (just to make sure!)my store won't do such a thing.... and I can't really go to an :apple: store since the closest one is 3 hours away, I'm pretty much stuck playing the waiting game......
