my guess is AT&T finally got the totals to expect from Apple this weekend, thus the adjustments in dates.. unfortunately they are probably more accurate than not.

AT&T Next discriminates against New York customers
At on 9/12 3:25am, I was just about to pull the trigger on a 128gb Space Grey iPhone 6, when I got this error message:
"Customers who use their iPhone primarily in New York cannot use the AT&T Next purchase option online."
I then ordered on AT&T with no problem, but now that they're telling me it won't ship until 10/13 - 10/31 (because, as the AT&T rep told me, my particular model is back ordered), I'm canceling to take my chances at the Apple store.
Then I noticed the Apple site is still showing 7 - 10 days shipping, so I'd really like to order from them. But I'm still getting the same #$&*@ error!
I called Apple, but they said they never heard of this error message.
Anybody encountered this? Please chime in.

Could it be that the reason I haven't got my tracking number is because the payments having processed yet? I mean, it shows that it has been taken out of my account, it's just Saturday purchases for bank America don't go actually thorough till Tuesdays. It comes out of my balance, but not out the their system.
The operators are dealing with whatever info AT&T gives them. Which, if I'm guessing, is not much. They are told to say that the estimates are correct because as of now they are. Once things settle down a bit and the orders/cancellations slow, they'll have a better idea of exactly what is going on. If I were a betting man (and I am), my 10/13-10/31 estimate will bump up significantly within the next few days. But I hold no delusions of getting delivery on Friday.
Just my 2cents from the shipping side.
When I worked at fedex the last 11yrs we would know what boxes were iPhones and would run the tracking numbers at the computers at the end of the belt to see when the tracking number was due. Those tracking numbers that would have due dates in a week or so would get put under the belt till they were due. Sometimes if you weren't busy you would take those future due packages and deliver them to get extra hours on the clock. Soooo a lot of this due date BS is just a cushin for ATT.

People are pretty evenly divided as to whether dates will update favorably. I will say that the 6 seems much more likely than the 6+ to arrive on 9/19. Honestly, I don't think AT&T has ANY idea of whats shipping out and when yet...That will change in the next day or two, I predict.

Forgot to make the link to the spreadsheet public. I've fixed that and everyone should be able to get to it now.
Also, I should have made the "expected ship date" field multiple choice from the beginning so it's easily filterable. I've changed the field, but if you filled out form prior to that change, see if you can edit your submission and change the free-form text to one of the options.
I still believe the estimates for i6 and i6+ is still somewhat messy. I hope things start to clear up in the next two days when Apple/AT&T begin shipping out the phones. I just hope my i6 can arrive sooner than expected. Not expecting it to arrive on the release date though. A September arrival will be good enough.

Don't be so sure. I got 9/23-10/2 for a 16 and 64 GB IP6. On Sunday that changed, one pending shipping, the other backordered. Now today both went back to 9/23-10/2 but late yesterday my UPS my choice account shows a package to deliver end of day on 9/19.
I ordered 20 minutes before you did and same thing for me, nothing with either UPS or Fedex. I think that's actually the case of most people who were able to pre-order really early.
When I pre ordered the 4s, the website said backordered the whole time and my phones were delivered on launch day. I have a feeling that AT&T still hasn't gotten their S straight!
Well, my current order was made at 5PM EST so I will not complain about having no launch-day delivery, even though that's because all of my orders placed at or around 3AM EST were cancelled by AT&T for reasons nobody actually knows, apparently.
Im actually pretty impressed with ATT and all the other carriers, I order a lot online and rarely do I get an actual tracking number in 1 business day. hah

my UPS mychoice has the one of my 3 iphones have an origin scan now @ Memphis TN. Lets hope it starts moving soon! I'm still waiting on another 2 tracking numbers for the other lines. All iphone 6 64gb models.

Same here! Constantly checking ATT order status, UPS and Fedex. I am not working right now so It's keeping me busy and sane during the day LOL

I pre-ordered two iPhone 6 128 GB phones and online, they both show as "Preparing to Ship" but one is 9/17/14-9/18/14 and the other is 9/23/14-10/02/14.
I have spoken to and chatted with a few different ATT reps who all say that both devices should arrive on 9/19.
The automated number on the order status page (877.782.8870) tells me the first order has been processed and the second is backordered.
However, when I spoke to a rep, she gave me another number to try - 866.391.0749 and it tells me that both orders have been sent to the warehouse for shipment, which agrees with what the reps have been telling me.
Anyway, the second number seems to have more info than the first, at least in my case.
