yeah I’m not worried about it but I’ll still wanna get it done ASAP
Me too. Once I get my new 12 pro in I’m going straight to att to trade in so those credits start ASAP. If you wait almost a month then the credits could be delayed just as long especially if your in the middle of your billing cycle.

Don’t think it said but do we initiate the trade in right after activation of new device. Just as long as get done within 30 days of activation we are okay?
Yes this is correct. It says within 30 days of activation.

Yes, $800 trade-in credit (paid over 30months) for the 11 Pro Max.
They’re not taking orders yet for the 12 Pro Max but the current offer says only $700 in trade-in credits.
Maybe that will change by the time they actually start taking orders.
Wait this can apply to the 12 Pro Max too when it’s released ?

What about the iPhone 12 Mini. Any AT&T trade-in promotions for that? I haven't seen any mention on their website as of today, October 22nd.

Hmmm, this sounds intriguing. Can it be done after the fact? I already preordered an 12 Pro 128gb - AT&T Installment Plan with $0 down.
I pre-ordered the pro. It should be here Friday. So can I still do this,? Its up to $800 for trade in? I have an XR. plus a $200 card,?
If you signed up for the 30 month installments and are on an Unlimited plan, you qualify for the trade in. You have 30 days from activation to mail it in (use form at https://tradein.att.com/ with the code TRADEINOFFER20 at checkout or take it to an ATT store to trade it in.

Can you keep a grandfathered plan if you get the 12 Pro Max deal??
Yes, if it is an Unlimited plan, but it won't get 5G

Hmmm. So $200 for an 11 Pro Max or $400 for a 12 Pro Max. Honestly I think I’m gonna go with the 11 Pro Max. No need for 5G anytime soon.

Shame I can’t use it abroad unlocked for 30 months.

FYI - I was reading the trade in details and it says that you will get $800 for trade in if you do not exceed $850 or $33.30/mo for 30 months for the new device. If you go over that then it will be $700 trade in value. So, if you get the 12 Pro 256gb, you only get $700 trade in value.

Finally got notified by AT&T that my blue 12 has shipped with a delivery date of tomorrow. It had already been showing at FedEx.

Better yet, I finally got an email from AT&T regarding my trade for the $800 promo. Prior to this there was no mention in confirmation emails about the trade-in offer. So it looks like it’s all coming together.

So I might do this after all after talking to AT&T. I have an aversion to any debt, so we owe no one. I found you can pay up front any amount over $800 and then your payment will be zero for 30 months. An iPhone 12 Pro Max 512 Gb would be $600 plus tax up front. Awesome deal!

I too have aversion. Got up to $5000 Sunday with phone and insurance on cc. Half was paid off on due date Monday. Highlylikely I pay off the phone early. The aggravation for just the one phone probably not worth it.

I have an iPhone 11 for work and iPhone 11 Pro Max for personal. I just made my personal phone both work and personal numbers (SIM card and eSim).

I guess I can trade my iPhone 11 for the $800 credit. When I do, will I need to temporarily move my number to it first?

No. You can trade in any eligible phone. What matters is that that your personal number is eligible for upgrade and that your trade is an eligible phone model/condition with no associated payment plan.

That is great. I will trade the iPhone 11 and sell the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

You can use the trade in form just to verify value , and then trade in corporate store later right ?

Ie filling out the form doesn’t lock you into mailing it in?

So how does it work if you order on Apple? I guess I’m a bit confused on that process. Do I just place the order as usual on Apple and then either take it in to an AT&T store or fill out the trade in form to send the trade in to them? I am not sure if I order from Apple if the form needs to be used to get the deal or not. Trying to make sure all my ducks are in a row for the iPhone 12 Pro Max preorder and don’t want to make any mistakes and miss out on this offer.

Hey guys, i have an iphone 7 plus on ATT and was wondering if anyone knew of any trade in deals I could take advantage of. Thank you!

This is not true. The iphone 12 pro is eligible for the full $800 in credits. This is literally on the ATT homepage:

Yes. All things being equal, they are locking you in for an extra 6 months post the typical iPhone cycle.
Yea 30m is a pain because if you trade in a year, you need to pay three more payments to be at 50% to trade.

It says retired plans may qualify.

I bought my 12 Pro through AT&T and started the trade-in process online (just answered the phone & condition questions). Do I have the send the trade-in through the mail or can I just take it to the AT&T store even though I started it online?

I owe $230ish on an XS Max purchased with Apple payments through Citizens. I'm going through the purchase process for a 12Pro. The AT&T process doesn't seem to know anywhere that the device is still technically financed, even though it is eligible for an upgrade under normal terms. I assume they pick it up later in the process or when they receive the trade-in device?
