So do you checkout on ATT/Apple (either one) and do installment plan? And then trade the phone in-store or online and they waive the monthly credits for 30 months?

Not sure about AT&T site, but when you try to purchase on Apple's site it's crystal clear as they mention the promo in the selection. You pick the AT&T installment plan and then select 'no' for trade-in as that would be a trade-in with Apple, not AT&T. After you receive your new iPhone you can either trade in your old one online using the appropriate link or bring it to a corporate AT&T store.

So do you have to do the att.tradein.com first if you plan on trading in at the corporate store

I have an iPhone X 256GB that has a hairline crack in the screen. When I use the AT&T trade in calculator, it says it is worth $110 which is more than the $95 threshold so it should qualify.

However, when I called AT&T, they said any cracked phone does not qualify. Is that the case and do I need to repair the screen?

That is the case. Cracked screens won’t pass.

Finally got around to trading in my wife’s iPhone 8. Walked into my local Corp. AT&T store and was in/out within 10 mins. He gave me a receipt that listed the trade in value of the phone ($100), and then the promo that values it at $800. Hopefully those credits kick in soon 👍👍

Same here. Walked into a corp store and told them i wanted to trade in my iPhone X to get the $800 dollars in credit. They inspected the phone, had me sign a document and then gave me a receipt showing the value of the phone ($220) and then the 800 dollar trade in credit. They told me the credits should start showing on my account after about 2 or 3 billing cycles. I was in and out of the store in about 15 minutes.

Cracked backs lower the value even more than a cracked screen. At least they do on the iPhone X.
I think they should answer the questions on the trade-in page and if they get a value that qualifies they should take it to a corporate store to be safe. If the condition disqualifies them on the website why waste the gas?

I had my iPhone X back and battery replaced last year. Will this keep me below $95, or be above it?

How would you know if your AT&T store is a corporate one? I cant seem to find out by googling.
Found this while searching myself. Use the appointment scheduler to locate a corporate store since they are the only stores you can make appointments for. Seems to be true in my area at least. After you locate the store you could try calling them to double check. Hope this helps

Surprised so many people are going for this considering your phone is LOCKED to ATT for 30 months.
I figured it would be locked. I suppose you could pay it off early but guessing that would also stop your bill credits at that point which wold reduce the value of the overall deal?

Wrong. It makes no sense, because no one can be an early odopter of an iPhone 12 mini or iPhone 12 Pro Max by November 5th.
This deal will still be around for those phones. The deal will change to be only $700 for the current released phones (12/12 pro) down from the $800. So basically once those phones release you will receive $700 for any iPhone 12 you order on att installments.

I went to an AT&T store that I usually frequent to ask if they would accept my phone, and the person told me that I have to order through AT&T and not Apple to get the credit or I will only get $200 for my X. Told me to cancel my order from Apple and everything to get the $800 credit.

I just called AT&T, and the person said that's not true, of course, and they don't know where that's coming from. The offer says all channels and not only AT&T, of course, and that I meet the requirements for the $800.
Yea that store wants the sales most likely and they are hoping people will just believe them.

Can anyone elaborate on the process when buying from Apple? Apple indicated I just wait for the phone to come then take my XS to AT&T to trade in. Is this accurate?
Yes that’s correct. It’s as simple as that. Or you can use the site once you activate your new 12 att.com/tradein. Make sure to use the promo code listed that the top to get the $800 value.

Does anyone have an idea of how complicated it would be to return my iPhone 12 Pro to Apple within the return window and order the iPhone 12 Pro Max instead, obviously getting $700 in credits instead of the $800 in credits? I hate to have to go through the exercise and don't want to be without a phone, but my battery life is horrible. Up at 8 am and my battery is dead by 7 pm. I even napped for a few hours today, but my battery page things the screen was on the whole time. I'm hoping the 12 Pro Max will be able to get me through the day.
How long ago did you get your phone? Also did you already send in your trade in?

I’ve told you everything. You want my account number and passcode so you can call and talk to them yourself?
Hey I’m just trying to look out for you. If that’s what happened then great you got the best deal out of anyone here.

Okay thanks. Just want to make sure i'm doing the right thing in preparation for Friday. :)
If you want to trade in at the store do not fill out the form online. Simply take the phone in an mention you purchased the new phone and want to trade in your old one for the $800 credits. Ask for a print out as well to show the deal.

Has anyone had any luck with getting their $30 upgrade fee waived? Any problem with that and the $800 deal going through?
