So how long is this $800/$700 trade-in deal going to last and how do you lock it in? I understand you have 30 days to turn in your old phone after activating your new one but what if you already bought the iPhone 12 when it launched but are waiting for someone's birthday or Christmas to activate?

For those that went the AT&T mail-in trade-in route: Does it mention if the return label has an expiration date?

Neither of mine had expiration dates. But I took the phones into the store anyhow. Anyone want a free label?

So you printed out the label but still turned your phone in at the store? I want to make sure because my Pro 12 still hasn't come in yet, and want the option still of going to the store if it will be quicker though I printed out the label because I thought my new phone would be here on Friday.

No. The label came in the box with the new phone.

Does the $800 deal require purchase by the 5th, or that the trade in be in their hands by the 5th? I bought my Pro last Tuesday at Best Buy and did the trade in online, but still haven't gotten my label and box.

Purchase.

Were you on Next?
I am not and I ordered a phone on release day and another last week and I got an email both times saying not to use the label in the box. The label in the box is only for returning your new phone or sending back your Next phone.
It is not for trade-ins.

Hi! I just got my iPhone 12 Pro phone on release date 10/23, so I still have until this Friday to start the return process - however I want whatever system knowing that I'm returning it so I'm eligible for the credits on the 12 Pro Max if I preorder this Friday 11/6. I have not yet traded in my old iphone XR, so I'm hoping that helps me now wanting to switch out the 12 Pro for 12 Pro Max?
Oh yea as long as you haven’t sent in your old device you should be fine. Just return your current phone and usually your upgrade status changes within 24 hours of the return being completed. Then once you get the new one and are sure your going to keep it trade in your old device. Just make sure it’s within 30 days of getting your new one.

You missed my point. It is wrong to not give iPhone 12 Pro Max buyers an opportunity for $800. No one could buy a Pro Max during the $800 promo.
The deal was never meant for the max or mini. Only the $700 deal was ever an option. We knew that from before the launch of the 12/12 pro. Att can give any promo they want. We aren’t entitled to anything for free. I’m assuming att only gave the $800 to boost sales immediately and retain customers who might jump ship to Verizon or T-Mobile. Att has all the statistics on sales over the years. They planned it this way for a reason whatever it may be. Just be happy they are giving $700 for the pro max and not less.

Not sure why everyone is having such a hard time understanding how this works?
I think because people have different situations and are getting wrong info on here and maybe from the stores. It is straightforward but some people are giving wrong info.

The email that was sent by apple/att specifically states do not use the label in the box. That is either for returns or returns of next devices depending on your situation. The label you need to send in the new device can be printed from their trade in website att.com/tradein by conpleting the forms and making sure to follow all instructions carefully. Such as using the promo code and using the same
Number that you got the iPhone on.

The promo is not ending it is getting updated to be only $700 for any iPhone 12.
Pretty sure that is incorrect. The promo ends for 12/12 Pro. It’s on Apple’s site. The $700 is for the Mini and Max only. Please show me proof otherwise.

I ultimately decided not to upgrade my 11 Pro Max, because 5G won’t work with two SIMs and I use business and personal lines. I will wait for the iPhone 13. My wife might still upgrade since she uses one SIM.

Support for 5G using dual sim is coming with a software update sometime soon, but I'm not sure I'd upgrade for just 5G, because the 11 Pro Max is not that far behind the 12.

I am needing some help with trade in. I have a 12 Pro that I bought from Apple and I want to take advantage of the AT&T deal. How do I go about doing that? I called AT&T and they told me that I needed to ship the phone back to Apple? I never got a shipping label from Apple

I’d prefer AT&T proof just to be certain.
I feel you. I too am waiting for it, but I have a really bad feeling that AT&T won't update their trade in promotion until November 6th since the current one ends on the 5th.

No you need to go to an ATT store to trade device - I bought my 12 Pro at Best Buy and traded in my X at the store. Very smooth.

Yea I hear you but I don’t think att would stop the deal for the 12/12 pro when those are the phones I think most will buy. They aren’t looking to make money off the phones right now just retain customers for 30 months guaranteed with this deal. We will know for sure as of Nov 6th
