Sorry, just want to make sure i have this right.

  1. I just Pre-ordered an Iphone 12 Pro Max from Apple.com on AT*&T by upgrading my current phone to a new 30 month contract.
  2. I submitted an iPhone X with a cracked screen as a trade-in on the At*t site and got a value of $96.50
  3. Used the TRADEINOFFER20 code
  4. Once they receive the iPhone X, i will then get the full $800 credit which will show itself in a $27 discount each month on my account?

So far been a smooth ride shipping my trade in to AT&T....

Yes, however I think it is now a $700 credit, distributed over 30 months.

I do not believe you will receive the promotional credits with a cracked screen, no matter what the value was. You will probably receive a promotional card for the $96.50. I could be wrong though.

Hmm. I thought the only caveat for the phone being traded in is that the value has to be over $95?

If we have already started this process with a 12 pro, is there any way to return and apply it on an iPhone 12 pro max?

It also states 'Good Working Condition' which is kind of broad but if you do some digging around their website, there are places where it states:

It is in good physical and fully functional condition, which means:
  • It must power on and off.
  • The screen must be intact, free of any chips, and function properly.
  • The device must be free of breaks or cracks.
  • The battery must be included.
  • The Activation Lock must be disabled (apps like Find My iPhone lock the phone and need to be disabled).

Got ya. i'll reach out to AT&T to confirm because their trade in details for this offer said if its over $95 after the condition questions are answered then you qualify.

Thanks for pointing this out!

Did everyone received the same shipping materials I did - a very small, thin bubble mailer? AT&T wants me to ship my phone back in that?!? Has anyone shipped their phone back in a box and used the label provided?

I’m contemplating which option has the greatest chance of success and not getting screwed up - mailing it in or going to an AT&T corporate store? Anyone had good or bad experiences either at?
I put the phone in the bubble envelope including a copy of the shipping label, but shipped all of it in a small box with the original label. No issues with USPS. They took it.

My Trade-In request has been confirmed (I have all the necessary reference numbers from AT&T) but haven't received the trade-in package from AT&T yet. I got it for one phone and not the other. Was anyone successful in finding a way to print the shipping label themselves? I haven't been successful looking in the AT&T trade-in website.

$450 is above the $95 threshold you’ll get $700 in credits

I would sell it separate though, find an iPhone 8 to give them, and “profit”

11 pro max is too good to give to att / has high enough resell you could flip it and pay similar out of pocket without credits and a locked phone
This...Found an ATT Cricket locked iphone 8 for $200 shipped that will get here tuesday.

Never got mine, which was one reason I decided to just take it in to a store.

Everything is perfect here on my end.

$26.67 was already credited to my first months bill. 1 out of 30 installments.

I traded in my iPhone X in person at a AT&T CS. I did have to call to have the upgrade fee waived which was no problem. They were super nice about it.

All in all... AT&T did a great job and everything was easily and seemless. I'm happy with the process and the product.

Any idea how long after telling Apple you're going to return the device that the AT&T line frees up for an upgrade again? I'm stuck in limbo where I can't order the new 12 Pro Max because I selected to return my 12 Pro. :-/
You have to return the device first. Then once apple clears it usually 24 hours after that you can upgrade. They want to make sure your actually sending back the device and inspect it.
