I’ve been trying to get online chat with ATT with no luck, and I’ve never gotten a legitimate answer on the phone with them. 2 questions hopefully someone can answer for me.

First I filled out the online form and applied the special trade in code. But ATT just sent me a reminder to mail in my iPhone X. And that email says only get a $200 credit. Not the $800 I signed up for. Anyone else get this?

And second, I’ve never received my mail return package and receipt. Is this been running late? Nice that they remind me to return it, without a a return package!

Is $200 the amount of the credit or the value of the phone?

Trade in status just updated today (USPS says was delivered Oct. 30), and the site claims I sent in the wrong phone (not true). Tried calling the trade in program number, but the rep said he couldn’t help me and that he would connect me with someone who could. All he did was forward my call to the general AT&T Wireless robo system. Have been on hold for 30 min and fully expecting they’ll tell me to call the trade in program again...

Anyway, curious whether anyone else has successfully fixed this sort of problem and has any advice.
Man I'm so sorry. No one should trade-in their phones in the mail with AT&T unless they absolutely have no choice for some reason.

Not really. I shipped my trade in to AT&T. Everything went fine and smooth. 1 corporate store (Miami) wouldn’t take my trade in. Called 2 and both said no. Don’t got time to be driving around or arguing with employees. Macrumors forums accounts for a very percentage of iPhone users vs USA. I know many who have mailed trade ins to AT&T without any issues what so ever.

I disagree. Even if the risk is small, it’s not worth the risk IMO. Any corporate store can process this trade-in promo. You do as you please, but I personally would never mail a phone for trade-in.

Went to my local corporate store. Called 2 other ones. Again they didn't know crap or pretended not to know. They gave me the run around. What am I supposed to do? Drive around town? Maybe the all Miami at&t corporate stores are full of douchebags. In life there's always a negative and positive. I ended up shipping. Got my email from att when they received. Got my email from att when they processed the trade in. Got my email from att saying credit will start within 1 month. So again it worked out fine and smooth for me.

I understand. I’m simply sharing my opinion. Relax man.

Ordered iPhone 12 at AT&T store on October 29, upgrading from iPhone SE 2020, to get the well-publicized $800 trade-in. Received new phone in mail. Today, I went back to the same store to trade in iPhone SE 2020, and they said the value of iPhone SE 2020 has gone down. Now it's only worth $350. What? They said I need to call customer service, oh joy.

What value comes up when you use the trade-in calculator?
The SE 2020 was on both the $800 list and the $350 list so maybe it simply comes down to the condition yours is in and the amount of storage it has.

SE 2 was removed from the promo $800 list two weeks ago.

I was able to trade in my iPhone XR at my local corp store with no issues. In and out in 10 minutes with a receipt showing the trade in promo.

I've seen a couple of posts where people got the upgrade fee waived...how did you get it? Just call and ask?

@blairh is right -- although mine was in perfect condition, and 128GB, AT&T now says that the iPhone SE 2020 got demoted from the $800 list to the $350 list -- the timing is unclear, but it was sometime after I bought a new phone, but before I received it and returned to the store to do the trade-in.

Yes, they moved the new SE from $800 to $350 on Monday Nov 2. I verified that using the Wayback Machine and seeing the text in the promotion change that day. The max the new SE is no $90, putting it in the $350 bucket.

I ordered my wife a 12 Pro on Oct 28 and at the time it said her SE 2 was worth $800 then they changed the promotion and we never even got the new phone. I called multiple people and they all told me "tough luck" and that she will not get the $800. We need up cancelling the order, she doesn't want a new phone that badly.

My new 12 Pro Max arrived today and I took my 11 Pro Max to my ATT store for the trade in. The 11 Pro Max had a crack in the back glass, so they only valued it at $171, but that was enough to qualify for the $700 promotion. I got the receipt showing the promotion on it. The trade in went quite smoothly.

I got my trade in email and it has the device name down as “Generic” with a value of $0.

Is anyone else seeing this?

I’m on a business plan with one of the older unlimited plans, but not the original unlimited. I’ve called
Twice to verify I’m eligible but I know the employees do not always understand what they are saying.

Business customers:

  • As long as you have a qualified wireless service agreement for Corporate Responsibility User line of service, you can also buy on an Equipment Installment Plan (24-mo. at up to $58.34/mo. or 36-mo. at up to $38.89/mo.) and credits are applied over term of installment agreement.
  • You’ll need a qualified wireless plan (minimum $60/mo. for new AT&T Mobile Share Plus for Business plan before discount), but do not need an unlimited plan. Other qual. plans available. Existing customers can add to eligible current plans.”

I initiated the trade in of my iPhone X online this evening. Somehow, the value of my trade was set up to be donated to a charity helping out soldiers. I saw it being mentioned on the website, but I did not choose it. A phone call to AT&T got me nowhere since the phone rep didn’t know how to fix it and those that did couldn’t be reached. I was told to try again and call back tomorrow. If it is not one thing, then it is another with AT&T. Did anyone else have this same problem?

When did you get the e-mail stating when credits will start? I got the e-mail stating that my phone was received and processed, and the promo is still intact and nothing changed, so I guess that means I'm good right and should get the e-mail about credits soon?

I need to unsubscribe from this thread as every update I get reminds me how I snoozed thru the cutoff date on 5 Nov. to trade my XR in ....... my bad no doubt.
