I dropped my trade in phone to an art store 3 weeks ago, and there is still no change on my account, the due amount of my iPhone 12 pro is still the full amount. Does anyone have the same issue? How long will I see my trade in credit on att account website?

i think it can take 2-3 billing cycles

Thanks. How do I know the trade in is successful? I dropped my phone in the store and they gave me a one-pager for my trade in value. But so far I did not get any email confirmation from att, is it normal?

Shouldve gotten a vague text that credits are locked in

if not / even so call att and get confirmation it’s in the system and to make note of it

I got this, is it the text?

AT&T Free Msg: Buying an eligible smartphone and completing your trade-in qualifies you for bill credits towards the monthly charge of your new device. Credits are now being applied and continue as long as you maintain your agreement, stay active and in good standing. If service is cancelled, device balance is due.

I've seen a couple of posts where people got the upgrade fee waived...how did you get it? Just call and ask?
I called with questions on my plan and while I had them on the line, I took the liberty to ask them to waive the fee. Upon seeing that I’ve been a long-time customer, she did so without flinching.

I just went in today and traded in my X. I got a receipt along with a one pager with the trade in value along with it saying promotional $700 on the one pager. The receipt said 0.00 and had a trade in ID number listed. I also got a email receipt as well. The store manager told me it takes 3 billing cycles for the credits to appear but reassured me they will come.

I need to unsubscribe from this thread as every update I get reminds me how I snoozed thru the cutoff date on 5 Nov. to trade my XR in ....... my bad no doubt.

You didn’t have to trade in by Nov 5. You just need to have purchased by Nov 5.
And then you have 30-days after activation to trade-in.
The trade-in terms that were in affect on your purchase date still apply.
I traded in on Nov 9 and did it in store and I got the full $800 even though all the posters in the store had already been changed to the new $700 offer.

Thanks for the info. I purchased yesterday from Apple and was wondering what might happen if the current offer goes away before our new phones are delivered.

Just wondering, if you trade-in in store do you still initiate the trade-in process online and then just bring the phone in?

No, don’t start the process online. I brought my phone in to a corporate store to trade it in the other day and the person I was working with asked if I had started the trade in process online. I said no and she said that was good because if the process had been started online then she wouldn’t be able to do it in the store and the phone would have had to be mailed in.

You guys are scaring me with my mail in trade-in on my X. I did request their packaging tho
Why scared, my package arrived just fine. Also don't use their craptastic packaging. Just print the label out yourself and ship on your own, it's just a padded envelope they send you, protects nothing.

So, I officially got my email from AT&T and now they have to verify my account qualifies which it should,

so far so good for me. AT&T are just checking to make sure my line is eligible for the promotion which I should be. They received my phone and once my account is found eligible I should get my credits.

AT this point you're 99.9% there

Is that something they need to do for people that traded in a corporate store too?
Verify stuff and be notified of it with an email?

Or should just take effect eventually?

I'm planning to go to the local corporate store this evening to perform the trade in. I'm wondering if I need to re-setup the phone so they can access the IMEI info as I've already reset the phone to factory? I do still have the original box with the IMEI.

Won’t be necessary. I had the same question. But on the main startup screen there’s an “i” on the bottom right and when you click that it has all the information they need, minus the storage capacity of the phone, but they can pull that up with the serial number.

Called loyalty tonight to check on my trade after the helpful corp store rep Friday got me in and out in about 10 minutes. The receipt that day showed $0 but he assured me the promo would take hold of the $700.

She told me tonight my installment for the mini would be $23.34/mo and I would get $3.34/mo in credits (for that iPhone 8 trade - no issues with that phone). She gave me trade in department line to call tomorrow to clarify if the system just isn’t reflecting my full credit yet.

Bingo! Didn't show up before but bill just posted and it's working as planned! My $216 shipped burner iPhone 8 from eBay did the trick as a trade in to the AT&T corporate store.

$26.67 (x30 = $800 credits) now taking effect.

Have no idea what the $3.34 off mysterious discount is, seems independent of FAN and autopay discount, it's been there since before this past month but I'll certainly take it. Was even there on older unlimited plan before switching to Elite Unlimited plan in preparation for 5G compatibility

it just applied the 7th of 30, so if I do ($3.34 x 24 including this one) = $80.16, getting independent of this phone purchase but its there and only 6 months short of the same timeline of credits.

$999 MSRP - ($800 applied and this weird $80.61 combined) = $118.84+tax on MSRP = ~$198.84 net all in after 30 months for this 12 Pro 128GB, not including the outlay of cash for my trade in sacrifice (all so I could keep my SE2020 as well) :) Not too shabby at all. Too difficult to pass up. And saving a little bit from our grandfathered unlimited plan to switch to this, oddly enough. more data and a bit cheaper.

Got the upgrade fee waived as well

Just a reference point for anyone around North Dallas needing to trade in... The store in 75252 doesn't know how to process the trade in but the store in 75093 does.
Just a data point for everyone... traded in at store on 11/4, did not get any of those vague texts, but credit shows on my bill dated 11/12.

Wow, that was quick. I traded my phone in at a store on the 13th and my next bill will be coming on the 19th. I figured there was no way I’d see the credit on the first bill, but now I wonder if it’s possible.

Well I called in today with a couple of questions about my plan and asked if they could waive it...I was flatly denied. And I've been a customer since before they were AT&T! Congrats on those that got a GOOD rep! LOL

Just got home from trading in my XS Max at my corporate AT&T store. Very quick. Got both a paper receipt and an email receipt. My CSR there said the credits could take up to 2 billing cycles to show on bill, but would probably start showing much quicker than that. IDK how accurate that is, but we’ll see lol.
