When I ordered the new phone online they said the new phone would ship with a shipping slip to send the old phone back. Is that the right process, or should I be waiting for this envelop to come LATER than the new iPhone arrives?
Nah. That’s to return the phone you
just purchased. Once you fill out the trade in form on the trade in site print out the label they give you. Easy peasy

Did he take your phone trade in at that time?
No, I 1) want to wait to try the new one for a while before giving up my other phone and 2) want to remain cautious for myself during these times. I'm happy to wait for them to ship me a return envelope. I'm actually not even sure if that was an option.

Update...just got my new AT&T bill. Indeed first credit of $26.67 for my moms iphone 12 256 GB is there. I traded in 8+. That was fast. Says 1 of 30. Glad everything went smooth.

A moment of silence for the lost credits.....

Real talk though, maybe you can call or chat with their Trade department and have it corrected.
On the phone with these baboons now. They have to cancel the entire order and I have to re-place the order.

All because of a promo code? Man, baboons is being too nice 🤣
Actually, now they're telling me that they can't cancel the order and that I have to go into an AT&T store to do this. I told them to get lost. I tried to start this order in the AT&T store and the baboons there said that the only way they could give me this discount is if I signed up for AT&T Next at $5/month. I made a mistake in not adding the promo code to the order, but the fact that they can't help me add the promo code after the fact or even CANCEL the order is unreal.

Have you shipped the phone yet? I suggest calling the loyalty department. It seems to be the only way to reach someone in the US, and while they too are baboons, their peanut brains are slightly larger and they tend to resolve all of my issues.

Quick question. I physically took my XS Max into my corporate store on the 17th of last week and received a printout at that time stating that I traded in the phone. My question is, should I be receiving any other correspondence, email or otherwise, that my trade was accepted for the promo and the credits will be applied, or is this all I will be getting? Nothing reflected on my current bill, since the cycle ended on the 16th. Just want to be sure there is nothing else I need to do. TIA.

Loyalty is their best department for sure. They have helped me a great deal this past month. (Processing my return to remove me from my contract, creating a case for my credit card refund which was processed the next day, removing fees on my bill, giving me credit for other issues.)

They also promised me two separate credits in the past that didn't pan out. Carrier employees are just the worst honestly.

I mailed mine in. I received an email stating that they had received my trade in and were checking my eligibility. It stated that I would receive a text message within 14 days once my credits had started. Today is 14 days. I haven’t received a text message but still hopeful.

I got in touch with what I think is the Loyalty department (I asked for "retentions" on the automated). They were a lot more knowledgable than the common offshore resources who told me they couldn't do anything for me, and that a supervisor was going to call me back immediately (and never did). The Loyalty department representative said that it was possible to apply the promo code over the phone with a form that the Trade In department would need to submit. Then the Trade In department dropped my call saying they were too busy. Then I called back into the Loyalty department, explained the situation, and had them send me to the Trade In department again. I waiting on hold for 30 minutes or so. I was #7 in queue before, out of nowhere, the phone call dropped AGAIN. I then called back into the Loyalty department once more, re-explained the situation, and they re-patched me into the Trade In department once more. I now have their direct number but, my gosh, WHAT.A.MESS.

Now the Trade In department is telling me that they can't do anything for me, and that the Loyalty department shouldn't have transferred me to them. They can't find my order in the system. This company is a joke.

Lmaooooo. I'm so sorry man. I'm going to hell for laughing at your misery but man do I hate AT&T as well. The only reason I don't switch is because of their coverage.

So apparently they told me that the trade in submission that I setup at the time of the purchase was not a formal trade in submission. It was just telling me what the value of the phone was, I guess for me to see that it was over $100.

They had be submit a new trade in request and then I added the offer code there. But it was very complicated and the 'donate the rebate to a charity' box was pre-selected, I didn't see it, but the representative said it wasn't an issue and would not impact my $700 rebate. Anyone else hear the same on that?
