Thanks for the advice. I just called them and got another confirmation number. However, this time, the rep did not say that I might be eligible. Instead, she simply said I'd get an unlock code...strange. I fear this might not go through well. How do you get the rep to wire you to tech support? The rep insisted that she could help me instead.

I am waiting from 11th. But today I called thru Skype just to check my case status and I realized my email ID was wrongly updated. So i updated them with my correct ID. And he said I would receive an email in 48hrs. So waiting for that.
So my advice to overseas people contacting via call is that to make sure ATT is having your correct information, especially if you are still waiting after your resolution date.

Very true. Even if they did get it right, they might have trouble sending an email. For me, they had an error and could not send me an email regarding my previous case number.

I got this as well, AFAIK its a automated response to you submitting a tech support ticket, which is what you did by requesting that it be unlocked. Its simply a paper work tool for the record books.

well, I'm still waiting. Chatted online Tuesday the 10th, had a strange case (moved to Spain, mixup between my dad and I on who paid the ETF, neither did and the account was canceled by att after several months of non payment. Resloved the issue after discovering this and paid everything off immediately.)

The rep said that I should get the unlock because we paid everything. So I wasn't worried after the first few days due to the posts on here and the fact that she said 24-48 hours, 'but possible that it could take a bit longer'.

I restored a few days ago after reading that some folks are able to unlock after a few days even w/o receiving the email. To no avail. Now I'm stuck on the setup screen on the iPhone. When I plug it in to the computer, it says invalid sim, insert a sim compatible with your carrier, etc. If I try to complete this set up on the iPhone, it results in the same message. Im using a prepaid vodafone sim.

Aside from updating that, in least in my case, still no news, I have some questions. What should I do? Leave it in it's current state and continue trying to plug it in? When my IMEI is unlocked on their end, I should suddenly get that 'Congrats' message when I plug it in right? Or have I missed something and need to do something different?

Also, should I chat again with them if nothing happens today? The 17th seems to be a target day for many. Oh and finally, when are most getting their email? Only between business hours?

Thanks and good luck

I just called back about my unlock case which required a proof of purchase which I don't have. Spoke to tech support, they were very friendly but unfortunately not able to help. Next I spoke to a supervisor. He actually said that since I don't have a proof of purchase, they will try to track my IMEI with Apple back to date and point of purchase to confirm it was purchased at full price (and not stolen). Very helpful man but it still seems iffy whether I'll actually get the phone unlocked via this case. Just have to wait and see. And hope.

So basically, if anyone is having similar issues with their unlock case, call and ask to speak to a supervisor. It might help.

heya. do you have an email address i can use for the same supervisor. I am not in the US but I bought mine at full price and it was locked to at&t.

Hi. Im overseas, all the way in the caribbean , can you help me out with an at&t iPhone 4 unlock?

Haven't heard a thing from AT&T since the 9th and the deadline was set today. No unlock for me through iTunes (with SAMprefs, without ultrasn0w, different non-AT&T SIM-cards, restoring, et cetera). So as soon as the call reps are available (due to time difference), they'll have to deal with me and they'll have to fix it ASAP. No matter what.

Yeah, a lot of us are waiting...

CM20120409_390xxxxx... today (4/17) is supposed to be my day...

I'm sure ATT is overwhelmed by the response, so they must be prioritizing. I was honest with them and told them I bought the phone off ebay, but hopefully I see something in the next couple of days.

I've deactivated w/ redsn0w, used my expired T-mobile sim, and haven't gotten the "congrats" message yet.

It really doesn't matter as off if you restore to check for the unlock. You don't need to restore or use SAM or Deactivate to unlock. Just replace it with a non-at&t micro sim first and connect it with itunes. You should see the unlock message. I have been reading articles since last week of suggesting to restore to get the iphone unlocked and it sounds stupid to me for now. I have unlocked two 3gs since morning without deactivating or doing restore.

Just to validate my claims, put in a non-at&t sim and connect it with itunes and you would see the sim incompatible message for now. You would be able to see the unlock message once at&t puts your imei into the whitelist.

when you did the request?

when you did the request?

I still have 2 request's pending since 9th. I am also on the same boat and tried all luck yesterday but no good. After trying all the day and with bunch of frustrations, i thought of giving a last try in the closing hours ( after 10:30 EST). It took me exactly 43 mins to get connected and the rep didn't ask any weird questions. He just asked for the email and imei and i was unlocked in less than 4 mins. I tried all day giving facts to 23 diff reps and everyone would just either ask for the AT&t wireless number or would ask to submit a new case or would tell me to wait for few more days.

Well, I don't have a choice since if I remove ultrasn0w and reboot my iPhone, unlock the PIN-code iOS says the SIM-card is not valid. When I connect the iPhone with iTunes it just performs a backup instead of checking with the iTunes Store. If I check the status of the SIM-card with SAMprefs, it says wildcardactivated. When chosen deactivated and connected with iTunes, it says it can't read the SIM-card.
